I've absolutely loved my 40 hours with the game so far, but I have to say I'm relieved to be past the ninja house. That shit made me almost quit.

So, not that I really care too terribly much, but I wonder how scaling is going to work in PvP. Because right now, I'm able to parry > Haze 2 for 4900 damage. This is with a weapon I have no familiarity or real synergy with, and The Crossed Sickles set can add yet another 27% to "behind" damage on top of that. No average player is going to have 6K+ health, unless the "meta" is a ridiculously high level.

Any reason not to disassemble all my yellow weapons and armor at about level 60?
Well, yes. You're fast approaching the point where the components will be selling for less than you would get from just selling the weapon itself. And as reforging anything below purples is a waste of time and money, its not like you're going to get any real use from the spirit iron fragments, so unless you're really short on some particular purple crafting material and want to boost the numbers by refining the lesser quality ones up, you'll want to start checking which method will actually make you more money. Even purple items will eventually pass that threshold, not to mention the blues.

Wow apart from the name, that spear is completely different from mine. It probably drops my weapons as they were when I found them

The positions of "Fire" and the inheritable skill are the same

Yes, I assume that's how it works. Revenants drops are before all crafting. Also kinda explains all the rev green gear with no special effects. They're all last boss drops.

Huh how do I beat the
Ice Lady and that other guy combined
in the side mission after the main quest is over? Anybody done that solo without Sloth and perma Living Weapon? First fight in the game that looks super brutal.

Perma LW is removed from the game and Sloth makes this fight harder

It's a brilliant fight and you don't need sloth or LW to beat them. You have to recognise the openings where it is safe to get a little damage in. Like with the other sub mission, go for the faster of the two as they naturally tend to separate.

When he changes elements he has a special move that accompanies it.
Wind = horizontal waves
Ice = ice shards
Earth = mines
Fire = teleport and plunge attack
Lightning = call lightning

When he does these moves there is a very small opening where he is not in LW form. This is your cue to do damage, he can also be parried if he attacks you in this state, which you can combo into iai strike but I would only go for killing blow just to be safe.

In order to maximise the damage window, you have to be aggressive in the sense that you have to dodge through his special moves to get him quickly to do damage otherwise he'll quickly transition into his next element.

Good luck.

I really dig the game so far. "The Ocean Roars Again" proves my patience though. I can't tell how many times I fell into the water just to be dead. Footpaths are tiny sometimes and can be uber annoying. I think I lost almost 300k Amrita in the process...

No need to refarm them, to forge divine items you just need an item gained by disassembling divine items (+ the normal forging materials)

Awesome! Fantastic news. Happy I took the time to farm out the Iga set and the Matchlock set. Gonna be fun expitanentung with divine sets :D

I thought I'd nearly finished the game and looked up how many bosses are left to fight. I'm not even on to O
gress
yet. Incredible. This game!

I've managed that and I'm not even one of the hot to the touch players. Standard divide and conquer tactics work pretty well as their attack patterns are wildly different from each other. You will need to learn the sound cues for the
Yuki-Onna and bait her out of her
running attacks and then move over to the other side of the field to contend with
Nobunaga
. This will basically turn it into a 1-1 with
Nobunaga
where you just need to keep it stead and be ready for those audio clues to clue you in to stop attacking and start dodging.

And no, this isn't me saying it was an easy fight, but this is me saying it is very possible to do with steel and steel alone without being a virtuoso.

Had no idea, guess that is what happens when you dont try everything.. :D

How hard is the platinum in this game? Does it require more than one playthrough, NG+ or so?

It's not too bad. The blacksmith trophy is the only really grindy one. For that I farmed revenants for about 4 hours on the bridge submission in NG+. You don't need to complete any NG+ missions for the trophy. The last one I'm stuck on are two really difficult sub missions you unlock after finishing the game.

I'd say it's an extra 10 hours of playing once you finish the story.

I just got here, assuming you're meaning the first main mission in region 4

I actually quite like it so far

Man, I suck at this game. Probably tried the ship boss 15 times last night and couldn't kill him even though I'm level 19. I got him down to a sliver a few times. I feel like there are some aspects of the gameplay I don't fully understand as far as blocking and dodging. I really like what I've played so far, but at this I'm almost certain to hit a wall at the actually difficult content.

Any tips for the last two sub missions? I'm getting obliterated. Haha :(

Kill the sword bro first in both of them ;)

Make sure your weight percent is green or blue, also when dodging attacks typically you want to dodge INTO the origin direction of the swing. So say when you are behind that boss and he does that big ass backhand swing, you want to dodge to the left as that's the origin of the attack.

Guys, any tips for doing
Yamato-no-orochi
no hit for its crusher title. Got most of the other crusher titles and it's been a really fun added challenge but this is a bad boss fight (where you're fighting against the camera) made even worse by the fact that if any of the billion off-screen projectiles clips me I've gotta start over run up to it.

What I've been doing so far is baiting the heads to attack its crystal and using dual sword water sword technique to burst them down. Going in one direction as well to make sure I usually don't have a head trying to attack me from behind. I guess I just have to play safer though. Got to final phase no hit and must've got nervous, got clipped by an attack that could've been easily dodged.

Anyone?

I haven't even give it an honest attempt as of yet due to the chaotic nature of that fight. That is the one Crusher title still eluding me as well. Your tactic sounds like something I would attempt. Likely with twin swords to benefit from that sweet sweet Minds Eye.

Hmm, have not tried that. Thank you. Will it cause them to get instantly stunned?

Nah but a level 150 gun/bow of mine consitantly does 1.5 - 2.5k a shot.
Melts the heads down fast in phase 2

I farm the teahouse currency and level my skill up for my other weapons using that stage as a helper. Always finished that fight quickly for people using ranged

Just picked up the game! Damn thing is sold out EVERYWHERE here, and I found it at a Wal Mart outside of my city....and I took the last copy they had lol.

Anyway, I also got a PS4 Pro 2 days ago, and this is the first game asking me what mode I want to play in. Do you guys recommend Action Mode(60FPS), Movie Mode(Better graphics at 30FPS) or an unstable frame rate while boosting resolution?

How do I unlock the mystic arts for magic and ninjutsu?
Finish the first mission in the last region and have 20 dex and magic respectively.

I play exclusively on action mode. 60fps, first and foremost.

My god have been forging for one hour and no 320 in sight

Action Mode best Mode

Oh nice thanks! I just unlocked the weapon mystic arts missions even before I had 500k proficiency in each one. Amazing that the mystic arts have OP passive abilities.

They don't, actually. You can't use them for other weapons

You also can't do them without 500k

Anyone tested this? Can't decide if it is even faster with the mystic on. Maybe a little bit, hard to tell.

Is there any way to know how many Kodama are left in a mission while playing it? I know it says you collected all but it would be nice to know if you are looking for one or more.

Any tips for getting a weapon to +10? I think I have them with the modifiers I want them but they're at +6/+7.

Either farm "Warrior of the East" or "The Two Kings". The first one is easy and he gives +1 to +3 weapons, the second one is harder to farm quickly but the two guys drop +4 to +6 weapons.

Visit a shrine and open the window for the Kodamas blessing. You should have the local Kodama count on the right.
