No JP voice track in Xenoblade Chronicles 3D

yes, even though it's a game about an American spaceship crashlanding on an alien planet, I still want British VA

Truth.

British VAs are more pleasant to the ears, and tend to give consistently better performances than American VAs.

Also, British accents seem appropriate in Fantasy/Sci-fi settings, after JP of course.

Definitely sucks for those who wanted it, and disappointing but not unexpected.
Myself it doesn't affect as I absolutely adored the English voice overs.

As others have said, this is not surprising. Especially since they are trying to downsize a game that has this much content into a single 3DS cart.

I've somehow not played XBC yet, but something tells me I'm going to enjoy it way more on the N3DS. As I get older, I find it more difficult to sit in front of a TV playing long RPGs. Couldn't do it with P4, but played through P4G just fine. It's nice to just pick up and play a little bit, sleep it, and quickly continue later.

I'm not going to quote every disagreeing post, but you can't "lol nope" an opinion, and in my opinion the dub was just completely grating and most of the voices didn't fit the characters at all, Shulk especially... and if I can't stand listening to the main character's voice, then obviously we have a problem.

Admittedly, I changed over to the JP track after the first couple of hours and didn't change back, so it's certainly possible it could have gotten better as it went, but I would be very very surprised if this was the case.

I really did not care for that dub at all.

DLC please?

Slightly amateurish? Xenoblade? By Meyneth that's a bizarre opinion to have. I thought they nailed it.

I'm worried about X to be honest, given the incredibly different translations that NoA and NoE did on the E3 trailer. Even if we can't get British VA on X, I'd rather NoE did all of the translating work, if that's the route NoA is eyeing.

SO EDGY! If JP voices are THAT improtant to you, you can always pick up the Wii version. Xenoblade is too great a game to pass up for petty preferences.

That's not an option in many places. I would gladly play the Wii version, but who says I can find a copy here? It's impossible.

Big deal for me. Liked the great English dub but I loved the Japanese voicetrack. I can handle tho.

Is it 30fps? For Europeans that didn't bother with the framerate patch this might perform better than the PAL Wii version.

I tried googling this but only found Dolphin related stuff. Was Xenoblade capped at 25 on PAL consoles or something (at 480p)?

People expected it to be in there? Hahah.

I've started thiss game twice now and both times just stopped after three or four hours, just can't sit in front of a TV long enough anymore. Looking forward to this version, especially now that it seems it won't be as gimped as we thought.

Whats with this thing of adding a Japanese dub anyways?

Does Bayonetta 2, and Bayonetta 1 benefited in any way with the dub? is a dub necessary for DMC 4 SE?

Not saying to complain, its just seem like an additional cost, i imagine it must be very costly to do it, but the games were already accepted and sold well with the english dub, so it seems a little weird to do it now.

Aren't character action games voiced in English even in Japan? At least DMC3 was from what I remember.

I suppose certain people like to hear Japanese voice acting. I personally prefer English so I don't have to read subtitles but its never bad to have options.

The US version has the Japanese audio, as well. Granted, it is essentially a duplicate of the PAL version, but those guys didn't get to have all the fun to themselves.

Well, fuck me, you are right ! I was under the impression that the US release came on a single layer DVD and omitted the japanese VO .

Maybe it was one of the other Operation Rainfall games I had in mind.

Really sad, but not suprising. At least, the full English dub is there, and it was pretty great so, for once, I don't mind.

I wouldn't call it petty necessarily. It can degrade the experience alot for some purists who prefer to play it in its original intended language but in this case since it has a decent dub it's not that bad but you can't claim good dubs are the norm with these type of games since more often than not they are bad, that's why some people would prefer these games to have dual audio as much as possible to be on the safe side.

I want to see the meltdowns when they announce that Xenoblade X will not have dual audio (The game is barely fitting the disc). Would be fun =/

Unless they include a 2d Disc with the Japanese dub or sell it as DLC.

I was considering double-dipping (once I have a n3DS, that is...), but now... Sayounara, baka.

I've had too many jokers on my Wii playthrough already.

If it's anything like XBC's dub then that's not really the worst thing that can happen to the Western release.
