No More Heroes coming to PS360 (confirmed)

Why did they change the artist? The characters proportion looks a bit off.

Grasshopper are not making the port, so all marketing artwork for this is presumed to be done by someone else.

awesome box-art!
can anybody tell me why the 360 and ps3 versions have different ratings?

edit: question already answered. thanks Jocchan.

but why would they censor only the ps3 version?
I imagine it's due to the fact that the PlayStation 3 fares better in Japan sales-wise.

Now I haven't been paying attention to how much they planning on improving and adding in, but from just beating the Wii version, unless they do a major overhaul the game is going to be panned by reviewers. Flaws in the original will be even more unacceptable and the translation of novelties in the Wii version to a button layout would be awful.

Wait, inFamous was CERO Z? How the hell does that work?
I don't know. I mean have you read a Shounen Manga before? Gore and tits everywhere and yet it can be sold to primary school children. Japan has some rather weird double standards.

It's T-rated because there's virtually no blood and the majority of the enemies barely resemble humans.

Uncharted 1 & 2 are way more questionable T-ratings.

Awesome boxart, though I don't like that new artstyle. I was a realllyyy big fan of the original. Travis looks awkward.

Either way, will probably at least rent.

Japan also separates the ideas of fantasy violence and realistic violence against people that are clearly meant to look real. It's the Tom and Jerry syndrome where ridiculous smacking someone with a hammer violence is fine because it's not real, but a soon as it becomes REALLY gory and/or involves realistic human figures it's a big deal. I think we're one of the few cultures (USA) that doesn't differentiate the two that much.

Heck, look at an 80s movie edited for TV versus a more recent one.

The real question is how the fuck is it only Teen in North America?

I can forsee that going to General Audience in the near future.

Anyway, hyped for this game! Hope it gets a western release.

What kind of things made were in the Wii 'uncensored' release that weren't in the original?

If it's nothing major, I may import the PS3 version. Doubt the 360 one is region free.

If I were to preorder the PS3 version of this, what's the difference between the Japanese release and the Asian one (besides $5 difference at Play Asia)? I'm guessing nothing..

In the "Censored" version there's almost no blood or gore and the enemies just explode into a cloud of black ash. In the "Uncensored" version, enemies spray out a fountain of bloody and are visibly dismembered for a moment before exploding into a red cloud. Honestly the "censored" version is fine and still feels very violent (enough so to gain disapproval from my Dad at least). The only time the censorship sticks out is when you
catch a glimpse of Destroyman (and bossibly some other "dead" bosses) returning for the sequel.

Hmm, in the PSN video I downloaded from the Japanese store, there seemed to be a lot of blood, and I thought I saw a head pop off. I remember thinking, man, what could they have cut!

Thanks for the info though!

That would be footage of the 360 version.

Wow. I'm glad I climbed out of my rock long enough to get this awesome news!

I looked to the OP with any updated info on this 7 page topic but it hasn't been updated. Would anyone mind filling this rock dweller in on what's going on with the progress?? Release date ect? JPN only? Whats up?

search :(

So 360 version is mine!

(no world in a US publisher, right? Do you think Ubisoft will mess up the transaction with any other smaller publisher? I do not want to pay a premium on the Japanese version just to discover the US version will come a month later...)

That's my concern too. JP360 owner here, I've been burned by import announcements right after picking up a JP copy of a game, usually PS3 games though *cough* Yakuza 3 *cough* White Knight Chronicles *cough* *cough*...

Sorry to bump this thread, but I was watching one of the No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise trailers and seen this artwork for Dark Star that I hadn't seen before.

Does anyone know if there is high quality version of it anywhere?

Also is there any artwork in that style for Jeanne? Dark Star and her seem to be the only characters that I havent been able to find.

I'd totally double-dip if this got a western release. Maybe Ignition or XSEED would bite on bringing it over. One can hope.

I think the problem with any company bringing it over is that it's still a 2 year old Wii port.
That's not a recipe for success, regardless of the quality of the game.

Yeah, no doubt. I can certainly see why Ubisoft passed on it. I still hope someone takes a chance on it over here. Ignition and XSEED just seemed like the most logical because of their relationship with Marvelous.

The only place I have seen them is in a No More Heroes Strategy Guide/Artbook I bought in Japan. The others were made available on the JPN NMH website.

Ah, thanks.

I just found the artwork for Jeanne on another site, but again the image quality isn't the greatest.

English Dubs FTW. Not that there was anything wrong with the Japanese VA work but having the option to choose is always nice. A shame about the delay. 2 weeks before SSF4. Still enough time to play it before that game eats me alive.
