Wii U had some great games, but come on.
The problem with the Wii U library is that about 80% of it is derived from whatever came out on the Wii, DS, or even the 3DS. Far too many Wii U games from Nintendo are either sequels to Wii games, or already have an equivalent on the 3DS. There really wasn't much the Wii U could call its own, and with most of its library ported to the Switch, the Wii U is arguably the hardest Nintendo console to go back to because nearly all of its games have either been vastly improved upon with sequels, or exist on other platforms, in some cases both. And third party support, even for a Nintendo console, was absolutely pathetic. Not even indies could've helped it.
Remasters aside I don’t believe the point of this thread is to compare ports. Some of the games are playable on Wii U through emulation but they’re still GameCube games. Otherwise I’d give more points to the GameCube overall because many of the must-have Wii u games are playable on the switch whereas there’s next to no GameCube games playable on a current platform aside from sunshine via the 3D all-stars.All those are playable on the WiiU and can be bought off the eShop at this very moment.
With about 30 minutes of work, you can play every gamecube game on Wii U.GameCube definitely.
