I’m actually curious if CDPR is cooking up something special. Otherwise why not just bang the pc port onto next gen consoles, even if without rt.Impressive stuff indeed, 1440p60 and RT on console.
I guess we will only get that from Sony first party on ps5.

Xbox sponsored Dirt and Valhalla. Outcome was interestingI dount it, its clear to me that Nvidia sponsored or funded Cyberpunk and it is optimised for Nvidia cards only.
I dont expect anything nice on consoles and as such have no interest for now

Quality will keep improving, this game isn´t using much of Ps5 special features, according to Red Gaming Tech we´ll need to wait until 3rd batch of Ps5 games to really see what Ps5 can do.
Since this is a 1st batch game, i think even 3rd party games will look vastly superior in 2 years time than Miles Morales.
But it is using all of the GPU features.
And I very seriously doubt you'll see "vastly" superior games in 2yrs with the exact same scope as Spiderman MM.
Lol this post seems disingenuous and like you don't know consoles at all.I see a lot of people here being very sure about big improvements in the future. But it is so vague and without any real explanation.
Please, could someone elaborate and explain to me in detail, what tech will cause what improvement in what area of the rendering. Buzz words like Geometry Engine are flying around and people believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Can we define our expectations? Are we talking 15% better raytracing performance? 10% more complex shaders (whatever that means)? What tech will the PS5 be able to handle better in the future? Will dynamic lighting use 20% less resources?
I'm sure that with all the secret sauce buzzwords, devs will be able to optimize their workflow and be more efficient in their work. Leading to more time for optimalizations, better design and better artistic implementations. Which will improve the end results depending on the talent of the team and their other constraints during development.
But there won't be performance falling from the skye to make the console perform "vastly" better.
On topic though:
Great mode, I'll play the game this way once I've bought a PS5 (Pro maybe).

I put this in the wrong section ... again.

Oh we´ve a Mark Cerny here.
I think you only have to look at previous generations and the games from the start of the gen and later on to see the kind of improvements that are made over time. And imo yep, they're pretty substantial despite the hardware being a fixed spec. Partly because of that, of course.I see a lot of people here being very sure about big improvements in the future. It's all good, be happy that we're starting at this kind of level and not cp2077 level!

I kinda disagree here. For example, take the PS4 Pro and compare Infamous Second Son to Spider-Man. For me, Spider-Man looks better, but not vastly better. I've played them back to back and compared them. Second Son has such crisp textures, great IQ, amazing particle effects, destructive environments. If you own it, go back and check it out. And it was a launch game that came in very hot, mostly developed on unfinished hardware / early dev environments. Compared to Spider-Man, where they had more time to optimize and way more experience with the hardware.
These consoles are way easier to code for compared to PS3 era and before. Meaning that devs can achieve better results more easily. But that's also the reason why I don't expect HUGE gains over the gen. Again, not saying games won't look better in a couple of years. But I'm saying it'll be because of devs being able to work more efficiently, not because compute power will be downloaded from the cloud.
That said, the new gen consoles are achieving amazing results of course.
You´ve a point here, the problem is... Spidey city is much bigger more detailed.
Now compare Uc4 to TLOU2, massive difference me thinks.

Spiderman texture work shits all over that haha, sorry my man.Again disagreeing here
It may have a slightly smaller city, but I would argue that Infamous is more detailed. Spider-Mans city looks pretty samey, while Infamous has a lot of really great areas and texture work.
I mean, look at this shit:
I don't see Spider-Man to be vastly superior and look significantly better.
Can't comment on TLOU2, haven't played it yet

Look at this one, its a screenshot from PS4 Pro
CDPR aren't even remotely as technically competent as Sony's 1st parties (on console at least).I’m actually curious if CDPR is cooking up something special. Otherwise why not just bang the pc port onto next gen consoles, even if without rt.
Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I don't think this mode is the best way to play the game. Maybe I sit too close to my TV but I notice a clear degradation in image quality/clarity (especially when looking in the distance, shimmering especially apparent) even compared to standard performance mode, let alone the crystal clear fidelity mode. Even just watching NXGamer 's video I can see details vanish when he compares the different modes and I was watching on a 1080p Kindle Fire.
On top of that, the extra effects aren't nearly as crisp compared to the fidelity mode either, IMO anyway. The RT reflections also seem buggier in this mode compared to fidelity, which could improve with the next patch as this is brand new for Insomniac.
I too, as someone else posted a few ticks up, have noticed little hitches and drops in FR here and there while playing in this mode compared to the locked flawless 60 of performance mode. I notice these a lot when swinging through the city and entering an area where it seems like the game is dynamically scaling down crowd density on the fly to accommodate this new mode's parameters.
NX said he caught it going as low as 1260p, which is still very good for 60fps/RT, but I prefer Fidelity and/or Performance mode over this new Performance RT mode.
Just my personal experience.
Insomniac is amazing and deserves credit for adding this to the game, no doubt.
There's even the possibility of better DLSS like reconstruction techniques to boost performance while retaining stuff like RT.
Is this something that either XsX and PS5 are already capable of or will it be something we need a Pro-revision for?
