Here we go. That's what I was eagerly looking to see.

The polls have begun to shift.

Yesterday, Nationally, Rasmussen had:

Obama: 50
Clinton: 42

Now, it's:

Obama: 46
Clinton: 45.

They noted the unusually sharp change from yesterday.

Fortunate for the Obama campaign that the race won't be decided tomorrow.

Let's see whether the effect is longlasting. This is definitely going to be a rough week, but the next primary is weeks away. As the polls show, March 4 became old news very quickly, and Obama recovered fully despite taking a sharp hit in the immediate aftermath -- time will tell whether this sticks.

Well, there's one other thing to report.

Obama's unfavorable ratings have jumped a few percentage points overnight and are now at 49%.

Daily polls = knee-jerk reactions to the day's news cycle.

When the Obama campaign can convince Wright to essentially say, "I have never spoken for Obama and Obama has never spoken for me," things will return to 'normal.'

Wright himself will need to personally de-emphasize their relationship for Obama to fully regain his previous support.

You sound sexually excited. Such a silly person you are.

EDIT: Beaten.

And no, from what Ive seen, the difference between you and 'obamaphiles' here are that they arent so eager to hang a noose around Clinton's neck based on anything. If ths situation was reversed, people wouldnt be making a big deal of it as you are. We condemn her on things that SHE has said/done, as well as her campaign, ugly things which are designed to smear her opponent, and the underhanded way she's run her campaign and when she continues to insult the American people. Thats what people here judge her on.

Awesome. People actually give a fuck about this book now. Who gets all the $$ off the sales this "scandal" will garner?

True story - Last weekend I almost bought it. But, a used bookstore just opened up near me. Prolly pick it up there just so Obama doesn't get any of my money. :D

I'm sure you would love this to get top billing for the next six weeks, but it is likely that media attention will fizzle once Wright "properly" begins to distance himself and his political views from Obama (think Power instead of Ferraro).

When he's Prez, he'll get it anyway. ;-)

And I really think people are overlooking the staying power of "Spitzer-Gate" and Kristen, the aspiring singer/hooker with the heart of gold.

Blacks and Whites are going to interpret these words a lot differently.
Much like women and black men will interpret Geraldine Ferarro's words a lot differently.

bob_arctor: meh, I found his book rather bland and uninspiring.

There's way too much there to properly distance himself.

CNN just mentioned that Black Ministers will denounce Obama for denouncing Wright's remarks.

Thus making this the first time that CNN has ever actually cared what a black minister has to say. Odd.

Funny accusations considering this entire post smacks of self-righteousness. I don't give a shit if a black man is in office or not. Did you ever stop and think that maybe people hate this guy because they think he isn't qualified for the job? It has nothing to do with me being "frightened". Your little hypothesis that you've blanketed the white race with is full of shit.

no thats not how you think. your posts in this thread shows you real concern is over the color of his skin

We negroes sorry. we be good house negroes now

wow. we house negroes can write a book but we can't be paid for it.

sorry masta we forgot our place

And that's why IMO the key to the strategy is that Wright himself do the distancing.

He also needs to make it clear that, because he is a preacher, the fact that he's made controversial statements should be a surprise to no one.

Honestly I think your defensive race-baiting has no place in this thread, especially since you've claimed yourself to be working with the Obama campaign.

It's from a famous Malcom X speech, not that I'd expect you to know that.

APF said:
Well this thread certainly has the air of post-racial unity.

Polarities persist in Democratic race

WASHINGTON - Something happened to the feel-good, way-cool Democratic presidential contest in the months since a woman and a black man began their path-breaking race for the White House.

By the millions, black voters voted for the black candidate and women voted for the woman. White men seemed torn, by the millions.

Those gains have not been enough to erase divisions by race, a task perhaps beyond any mortal and any one election, nor lesser ones between the sexes.

And when the campaign moves beyond Democrats, the party of diversity, and into the general election, it's questionable how much room is left for such progress.

i think the comments of some of the fucking posters in this thread made my attitude what it is in here.

next the fact this is just anpther lil think in the p[politics to you is even worse. this is some of our cultures on the line here and the comments are very hate filled. read the whole thread. than come back and say i am race baiting.

no sir i am responded to ignorance that fills this thread.

we are house negroes. i better shut up before they put me in the field.

APF said:
Exactly.

Really Obama guys? You're really that desperate to play that game? You really want to split Dems into black and white?

oh so when hate comments are made its our fault for being upset.

house negroes indeed.

This isn't that big of a deal but I personally think this is:

McCain 55% 41%
Obama 50% 49%
Clinton 47% 51%

McCain being liked by 55% of the voters and only being rated unfavorably by 41% is alarming because this is just going to get worse for the Democrats before it gets better.

How exactly have Obama fans injected race into the democratic process?

Wow, just wow. If you want to know how Obama loses the hearts-and-minds of independents, just look at you two and your out-of-the-blue race baiting.
