3D tracking?
If not, it's pointless.
Oculus Go is a standalone VR headset that comes with an orientation-tracked controller. It supports 3DOF head tracking, has best-in-class optics, a wide field of view, and fantastic ergonomics.
Just as Palmer would have wanted

That is just angular tracking.Yeah.
This is an alternative to buying a high end Samsung phone and a Gear VR.Oh so this is for mobile games not the actual big games people care about. That makes me feel better about the rift I have.

I guess I know what it feels like to have peaked now.
No specs?
To jump into vr or not to jump into vr... The tech is evolving so fast it's hard to see which way to go.
Yeah.

You can't have even halfway decent mobile VR (Gear or Daydream VR) for 200 bucks, not by a mile, so we definitely know one of those. And the other is what they claim. We don't know either of those things actually.
This does not have positional tracking.
So people can stop asking
We do, they said it had the best looking display of all VR headsets. Which means better than Vive and Rift, which are considered top of the line in terms of VR display quality. They also made a big point that the device was supposed to be a middle ground in terms of power, between mobile and PC, so in theory it should be more powerful than mobile. We don't know either of those things actually.Planet said:So it's vastly undercutting mobile VR, but offers higher quality. Sounds legit.
I'd say not quite yet, but 2019 could be the year stars align. To jump into vr or not to jump into vr... The tech is evolving so fast it's hard to see which way to go.
Like what? Google cardboard?Pass.
There are cheaper alternatives for VR porn.
That can't be an argument, of course you need to calculate all the costs. Otherwise you could e.g. say PC VR is dirt cheap if your already own a Threadripper, a 1080 TI and an HTC Vive.but if you have that expensive phone
Disagree, because theres a difference between having a computer almost nobody has and will guaranteed be a required upgrade for most people, and one of the most popular cell phones. A GearVR doesnt cost $900 because it needs an $800 phone, nobody in the world thinks like that. That can't be an argument, of course you need to calculate all the costs.
