Jake was a dominant QB in Denver, a pure winner. I hope he finds something good somewhere, he got a really bad rap taking all the blame for an entire offense that sucked ass through a straw last year.

:lol :lol

awesome commercial on NFL Network right now. Reggie Bush and Chad JOhnson sitting in a room talking about how awesome their superbowl party was this year.

Reggie: "That's good for the Colts. I'm glad Peyton won."
Chad: "Me too."
Reggie: "Good party this year. I can't have it next year though so you'll have to do it. I'll be playing."
Chad: "What? I'll be playing, too. Who's gonna have it?"

...long pause...

Both: "Warren Sapp."
:lol

NFL Network has Adam Schefter reporting that Jake The Snake Plummer is retiring. A deal had been worked out between Broncos and BUcs and Plummer opted to retire rather than play for the Bucs :lol
Weird. Considering how shaky the Bucs were at qb I would have thought Plummer would have liked to have gone there.

Then again it is the Bucs...

Plummer seemed pretty worthless as a quarterback anyways. All he could do was hand off and run bootlegs. He always looked horrible when he had to stand in the pocket.

I don't get it. Jake could be gettin paid to sit on the bench. Why the hell not? These guys are NUTS!

The San Diego Union-Tribune notes today that Chargers LG Kris Dielman was boarding a private plane for Seattle. My understanding is that the Seahawks sent a couple of coaches down there to pick him up and then accompany him on a flight back to Seattle for a visit. That type of treatment is generally reserved for players a team intends to sign, but the evidence is purely circumstantial at this point. Stay tuned.

We can use a guard with hutch gone hopefully he signs!

Would that be Denver pride or Tampa pride?
Pride in himself.

He obviously thinks that it is beneath him to back up Chris Simms.

If he was sick of playing and just wanted one last pay day this would have been the perfect opportunity.

Marsellus Wallace said:
I think you're gonna find – when all this shit is over and done – I think you're gonna find yourself one smilin' mother****er. Thing is Jake, right now you got ability. But painful as it may be, ability don't last. Now that's a hard mother****in' fact of life, but it's a fact of life your ass is gonna hafta git realistic about. This business is filled to the brim with unrealistic mother****ers who thought their ass aged like wine. Besides, even if you went all the way, what would you be? A superbowl QB. Who gives a shit? I doubt you can even get a credit card based on that.

Now the night of the game, you may fell a slight sting, that's pride ****in' wit ya. **** pride! Pride only hurts, it never helps. Fight through that shit. 'Cause a year from now, when you're kickin' it in the Caribbean you're gonna say, "Marsellus Wallace was right."

So right....

Uh.... 40-15 record as a starter in 4 seasons.

15 losses in 4 years... do the Lions even have 15 wins in that time? Just curious :lol
Of course not, but they've had more than enough joke QBs in that span, which means I can recognize one on sight.

I thought Marsellus Wallace was supposed to look like a b*tch. Or am I thinking of the wrong guy?

Anyway nice to see Shaun O'Hara locked up before he became a free agent, Giants plan to fill the spot left by the departed Luke Petitgout by switching David Diehl to protect Eli's blindside.

Favre is making a play for Packers to obtain Randy Moss since apparently they have the same agent. That's actually a great deal if it happens, but can he stay vertical long enough?

Getting sort of nervous. Its been about 6 hours and neither ESPN, KNBR, or any other major source has yet confirmed Clements signing with us.

i'm getting nervous about ADT. now the filthy pats have their gaze on him and are offering "a superbowl" as if they are ever going to see another superbowl. gtfo bellicheck you bitch, niners are closer to the superbowl than the pats! here is who we need this offseason:

1. ADT
2. Nate clements
3. drew bennett
4. donte stallworth
5. other defensive players

Yeah, I've been listening to knbr all freaking day and they haven't updated with the story yet. I'm getting scared :(

I have heard that ADT is going to be in the area later today (or tommorow) discussing with Nolan. That's great news.

I read something somewhere that said the NFL is taking it slow this year so that the league doesn't look so bad with the whole "do as I say, not as I do" thing in terms of tampering.

Some news for my fellow Niner bretheren:

ESPN updated insider page:

The 49ers have made significant progress in their pursuit of Clements, and could get a deal done today, reports ESPN.com's John Clayton. Clements, the top cornerback on the market, is also a target of the Titans and Browns. However, neither team has as much money as San Francisco, which has good chance of getting the deal done.

Also:

12:26 p.m.: Cornerback Nate Clements (Bills) and safety Michael Lewis (Eagles) are currently at the 49ers facility.

:D :D :D :D

I mentioned Lewis in the past, but didn't really know he was on our radar. Nolan stated after the whole thing with Jonas Jennings, and not knowing of his shoulder issue, we won't sign anyone without a physical, so thats likely what Clements is doing there now
! Looks like we just may just end up snagging him! NFL Live should have some more info at 4:00pm.

This is like the 4th quarter of a major game for me right now..we are SOOO close.

Imagine our defense:

CB: Nate Clements
CB: Walt Harris/Shawntae Spencer
SS: Michael Lewis
FS: Keith Lewis
ROLB:Manny Lawson
ILB:Derrick Smith
ILB:Brandon Moore
LOLB: Adalius Thomas
LE:Bryant Young
NT:Alan Branch
RE: Marquis Douglas

We would be so friggin physical... I personally wouldn't want to play us.

Thank god the Lions are stocking up on draft picks, they're great at that side of things!
They haven't been bad since Marinelli has been involved. Almost every guy they drafted last year not only made the squad but played an important role in the team at one point or another.

I dunno how I feel about this:

Darrell Jackson: The Seahawks might have found a suitor for the talented but injury-prone wide receiver. The issue now is agreeing on compensation. Seattle has reportedly talked to the Jaguars about getting a day one draft pick in return for Jackson. -- John Murphy

Hrm.....

Ernie's dad posts on Warchant and said he was doing well and should be back by next year without a problem. Glad to see he made first-team although I'm still annoyed that Kam Wimbley was overlooked.

The Raiders are such an ass backwards organization. They pass on Matt Leinart because he doesn't have a laser rocket arm, yet they try to bring in J-Gar, who makes Leinart's arm look like Elway's in comparison. And knowing them, they'll probably pass on drafting a QB thinking J-Gar is actually a viable option, totally ignoring a year or so down the line.

Darrell Jackson is a great receiver. Sad to see him go if this is true. Hawks just have so many receivers that someone's gotta go. He's biggest issue is sideline receiving he tends to step out a lot and not get both feet inbounds enough.

Texans going after Jgar

Because Denver insisted on getting a draft choice for Jake Plummer and the Texans won’t part with any of their picks, they’re trying to sign Garcia, who would replace David Carr as their starter.

The Texans have been expected to trade Carr since last season ended. Once Garcia signs with a new team and is off the market, Carr becomes the most attractive quarterback available.

Garcia, who turns 37 this year, is one of the hottest free agents on the market. When coach Gary Kubiak was the offensive coordinator at Denver, the Broncos tried to acquire Garcia but couldn’t pull it off.

“Yeah, we chased him in Denver,” Kubiak said. “I’ve always been impressed with the guy. He’s one tough son of a gun. He makes smart decisions. He’s been productive just about everywhere he’s been.”

Several teams, including Oakland and Tampa Bay, also have been interested. The Raiders are trying to sign a veteran starter. The Buccaneers thought they had a deal for Plummer on Friday, but it feel through after he told them he was going to retire.

Plummer didn’t want to go into another situation where he would have to compete for a starting job again. The Bucs were willing to give a fourth-round pick for Plummer to compete with Chris Simms, who signed a two-year extension after the season.

Simms was injured last season. Tim Rattay finished the season as the Bucs’ starter, but he’s looking for another job.

If Plummer follows through with his retirement plans, the Broncos would still own his rights for three years, which would keep him from being reunited with Kubiak, his offensive coordinator for three years in Denver.

The Texans are also interested in receiver Ashley Lelie, who was a No. 1 draft choice in Denver and was later traded to Atlanta.

I hope the Raiders do something stupid (like passing on Russel) so it'd increase our chances of landing AP. Which I don't think is a possiblity at this point. And as far as our QB situation goes, I'd rather have JGar than Plummer.

The Houston Chronicle is reportying that the Texans are pursuing Garcia now.

Edit: beaten by mere seconds.

The Ravens have lost Mughelli and Pashos already... and AD is definitely gone.... I understand that Pashos move, and though I dont like it I understand the AD move... but the Mughelli move I don't get that at all... he was blocking AND making plays... WTF.

My god, today my two teams are going ****ing nuts. First Joe Horn and the whole Saints thing which is just turning into a he said she said playground bitchfest, thats making Joe Horn look like a punk(and i loved the guy).

Now this crap With plummer, first hes going to Houston, but that was false then it was Tampa and now he may be retiring? Now theyre saying his retiring part may be a way to stick it too us for 5.5 million dollars and give us one more mile high salute(the middle finger kind he used to throw around). But get this Now it seems he may be going back to Houston!! The Radio just reported along with John Clayton that Plummer may, take that with a big MAY, may be going to Houston in a three way deal with Tampa that sends Plummer to Houston, Carr to tampa and a third round pick back to us.

Seriouslly guys what the hell, what. the. HELL.

free agency is damn crazy this year. At least for my two teams

Wait a sec, whoa whoa whoa whoa.

Your TWO teams?

Denver and New Orleans?

Yeah, that's not possible, sorry.

What's the problem? I've got two teams. I thought everybody did. Sure, my main team is the Vikings, but I'm TOTALLY been a Seahawks fan ever since Nate Burleson went there. Go 'Hawks!
