San Francisco 49ers free agent center Jeremy Newberry is scheduled to visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday. The former Pro Bowl center has started 90 games since entering the NFL in 1998, but hes struggled with injuries over the past three seasons.
Denver Broncos free agent defensive end/linebacker Patrick Chukwurah, who was scheduled to visit One Buccaneer Place on Tuesday, has agreed to terms on a five-year, $5.5 million deal with the Buccaneers. Chukwurah, 27, will officially sign his contract when he visits Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
methodman said:Thanks for the post bro, We REALLY needed a physical corner. We play some tough ass wideout tandems in the NFC west, and having a physical corner like him (who can even shut someone completely out) will be such a huge boost for our defense.
LJ11 said:When the Bills played the Rams, Clements mauled the crap out of him. Holt had 90 yards by the end of the game, but most of that was gained in garbage time (Bills won by 20 and it wasn't a contest). I think he'll hold up well in that division. He's not a leader on D however, quiet guy doesn't really yell or motivate but he does talk trash, a lot of it as a matter of fact.
He was my favorite Bill next to Fletcher, sad to see him go.

So talented he almost cracked the starting lineup of Wilford, Jones and Williams......
LJ11 said:Your special teams killed you that game, that and the sacks/online, Lawyer Milloy had 3. Fletcher is great player but an even better person. Maybe some of that character rubs off on Taylor. :lol

According to a source close to Porter, at least seven teams have made contact to inquire about the three-time Pro Bowl selection, and they read like a who's who of the NFL's 3-4 defensive formation stalwarts: New England, the Jets, Baltimore, San Francisco, Dallas, Cleveland and Miami.
Mooreberg said:You're right, San Francisco is closer to Arizona. Too bad that has nothing to do with who gets to play in the game. :lol
According to John Clayton of ESPN, the 49ers will sign Ravens nose tackle Aubrayo Franklin to a 3 year contract worth $6 million that includes a $3 million signing bonus.
Clayton also states that the team will go after Dolphins linebacker Donnie Spragan.
The Boston Herald reports the Patriots have agreed to terms with DE/LB Adalius Thomas on a contract that will guarantee him $17.5 million and pays $7.5 million-per-year. He still has to pass a physical Saturday.
Shitty LB core still intact in SF.
