CJ...as in Calvin Johnson!? Not with Reggie Ball sr. throwing him the ball.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

But hey, he did prove he could make a great athelete/piss poor QB look like a legit player at the position.

Giants apparently let Jay Feely go.

He's heading to Miami, per Sun Sentinel (sp?).

He should just stay in New York and REPLACE Skip Bayless on 1st and 10. I was impressed when Jay filled in for Woody those handful of times, he knows his shit.

Ok, it's really not funny to even make jokes comparing Vick to Reggie Ball. Also if Calvin could put up numbers with Reggie Ball throwing him the ball, then like I said before, him and Vick could be next Montana and Rice.

I watched Cold Pizza one day and he just kept talking about the Giants and their future.

I am a fan of players who tend to keep their mouth shut when they go on TV. He is a good speaker and knows his stuff, though, I admit that. Skip Bayless sucks. I think it was Greg Anthony, an NBA analyst, who kept owning him on FOOTBALL coverage. Pretty sad. :lol

Olindo Mare will be cut, so maybe Giants take a flier on him.

is minor any good? i guess he will be a change of pace for SJAX-MVP

I'm kinda sad to see weinke get released... it was fun seeing Deangelo Williams take direct snaps for a full 4 quarters

My god that game was terrible. Mora and co. should have been fired after that game.

Thats probably the main reason Mora didn't get picked up by the Chargers or anyone else for a real coaching position. 3rd & 12 running plays "its just crazy enough to work!"

I honestly believe that everyone on the panthers besides Steve Smith and Ken Lucas should be 'available' after what happenned this season. Dan Morgan needs to hurry up with that probowl season, Keary Colbert is... dead?, and who's bright idea was it to move thomas davis to linebacker?

Hell, IF we do have another 8-8 season I wouldn't be sad to see John Fox go either.

Putting so much emphasis on the punter?

Does this mean the Niners don't have any confidence in Alex and that they need a stud punter to make up his inability to move the ball?

I really wish the Panthers had restructured and/or extended both Steve Smith and Julius Peppers' contracts so that they could have more cap room to do something in the free agent market (although I'm not sure I want the Panthers to participate in this crazy ass free agency period). I would've liked the Panthers to bring in Ken Hamlin or bring back Deon Grant at one of the safety positions and then maybe take a look at a bargain TE (Eric Johnson to be exact, but the rival Saints swooped in and stole him). Idealistically, I would hope the Panthers draft either LaRon Landry (unlikely as he has seemed to solidify himself in the top 12 picks) or Patrick Willis (I don't trust Dan Morgan at all and Willis looks like he'll be a certified beast at the mike position).

I don't know if I'm all that concerned about the lack of activity by the front office; last year the Panthers went out and brought in Justin Hartwig, Ma'ake Kemoeatu, Keyshawn Johnson, Shaun Williams, etc. and that free agent spending spree netted them an 8-8 season (largely due to offensive line injuries and third down inefficiency). Hopefully, the offensive line can get healthier and gel, a third receiver (I'm looking at you, Drew Carter) will emerge, and the draft can solidify the defensive backfield and linebacking corps. With all that and a slightly easier schedule then last year, I hope the Panthers will be able to grind out a 10-12 win season and return to the playoffs.

nolan has respect for other teams so he won't let alex run the score up. as such, we have to punt sometimes :(

I wonder what happenned to the panthers 2005 draft class. LeFors & Shelton??? Nick Goings is good but do we HAVE to play him?

Andy Lee will be your starting QB by week 12. Book it.

are you still mad that we robbed you!? i told you i was sorry and i meant it!

p.s. i heard andy lee one upped cooley by having a 5-some with 3 cheerleaders and denise york. the 3 cheerleaders were also redskins cheerleaders

He's a rogue with a strong arm that breaks all the rules. She's a damsel in distress who can't run the offense. Fate brought them together. Jealousy could tear them apart. And poor Bruce Gradkowski is beating his lonely Toledo Rocket in the corner.

You know it's hard to make relationships work in the office. It really is. Chances are that the relationship falls apart, things get awkward, and the whole team dynamic suffers. Hopefully, these two kids will have what it takes to make love last. But I have one more question:

Is it a quarterback controversy if they're ****ing each other?

I believe LeFors was cut (Brett Basanez from Northwestern is the backup QB at the moment now) and Shelton has been buried on the depth chart because of Henning's apparent dissatisfaction with his running style. With Davidson coming in at OC, hopefully the Panthers give him a better chance, as I still think he can pan out as a power back and Shelton did show some promise last season in the limited carries (I'm pretty sure he only got ~10 carries) last season.

Also, I questioned the Panthers decision to draft Thomas Davis with the intent to convert him at LB during that draft. If they wanted a LB, why didn't they just take Derrick Johnson from Texas? I wanted Johnson over Davis then and I still wish they had drafted Johnson now (although the one I wanted the most, Jamaal Brown, was cherry-picked right in front of the Panthers by those ****ing Saints!).

Looks like its coming down to the Bills and Eagles for the services of Corey Dillon.

which means he will be signed by the bills :(

The Iggles WTF? So they'll pay CD around $10 Million to take 5 carries a game.

Nah. I could see him getting anywhere from 8-10 carries a game. We want to run, but we dont wanna have West taking 20 carries a game because of his prior injury problems and he gets touches on pass plays as well.

Wow i was right on. doing the math, Westbrook touched the ball an average of 20 times a game.

I swear, it should be football season right now. In fact, if they replayed the entire 2006 season from the start starting this Sunday, I would watch it over other sport..period.

The season can't get here fast enough. We havn't spent this much money since the days of Carmen Policy and Eddie D. The only difference is we''ve been smart in the deals we've offered. None of the deals will hurt us that bad if eventually don't pan out. But I think they will end up being great moves. I mean we added a shut-down corner, a pro bowl safety, a hoss NT, a speedy WR, and a young hungry pass rushing OLB. The crazy thing is that we still have 8 picks in the first four rounds of this years draft.

I predict a lot of people jumping on(or back on) the Niner bandwagon this upcoming season.

9ers and rams battling for nfc west supremacy once again

seachumps back to being cellar dwellers again :D

What have the rams done to improve? :lol

All you guys have done is let Kevin Curtis loose and signed Drew Bennett. Its almost an even exchange.

Meanwhile the 9ers have gone out and gotten big name free agents so they can kick your asses by an even bigger margin twice a year.

If the cardinals even half way address their shitty O-Line this year, they will be better than you guys.

Pretty much.

The Seahawks are in for a rude awakening if they trade Jackson and keep Branch as their #1 on the depth chart. We'll see how he does when hes the primary focus of the defense. Not to mention, Alexnader is on the dowm. The Cardinals are perpetual underachievers so i'm no worried about them in the last bit.

Because making big offseason changes equals sucsess, right? Stop talking outta your ass CB. No question the 9ers are paper champs right now but lets see how this team gels and not turn into the Redskins. k?

First of all, the 9ers didnt sell their future to get better. they made big improvements and still have the draft to build on very good players, unlike the skins.

the 9ers D CANT get worse. it aint possible. Its only gonna get much better with these new guys. and with players like Manny Lawson heading into a second season with much more around them than when they first came in, watch out.

I know you guys are pretty much just dealing with your own free agents and players and such. But that only works when you actually have a good team at hand. Being 8-8 in the NFC West and expecting to make a run when your adding no one and other players on your team getting older aint gonna cut it, especially with teams like the 9ers bring in the big names, the hawks coming off their superbowl curse year with talent all around, and Arizona (yeah i know) and their young players being very dangerous, especially on offense.

But i guess you know that, since your the only team to have a losing division record in the west

we still have along way to go. i love the additions we've made but we still have to put it all together.

i think the NFC west has been kind of the laughing stock of the league (division wise) in the nfl the last couple years. people need to realize that all the NFC west teams have a potentially good roster and can make some noise. i think all the teams really beat up on one another. we swept the seahawks, who swept the rams, who swept the cardinals, who swept us. i think our division is up and coming and it is not out of the question for one of us to repesent the NFC in the coming years in the superbowl. respect!

As it should be, ever since the whole rivalry started in the 50s. :D

Ignoring the fact that the Niners weren't really relevant in the playoff picture during most of the 50s, 60s and the mid-to-late 70s.

Cardinals, again? Get real, they shouldnt be apart of this until they get it done, period. Ya know, we're 1 DT and a healthy o-line away from making a push, we dont need to build that much. What you fail to realize is we have a fairly young team w/ good pieces in place, so why go balls-out in FA? We're every bit as dangerous as any team in the NFC West. But dont worry, im sure your gonna pull up some stats.

Lewis and Peterson in the Browns backfield this year is going to be redunk. Wow what a way to wear down a D. Teams will stack the box and the Winslow and Edwards are just going to tear it up. Add to that we now have another pass rusher some secondary depth added not to mention getting the best O lineman in this free agent period and things are looking nice. Add some O and D lineman in the draft and the Browns could start to turn this thing around. I'm looking forward to this season. GO BROWNS!

I don't like the happy feet that Lewis has developed in the past few years but he can be a punishing back. I'm encouraged that they only signed him to a one year deal. That makes me think that the Browns are definitely going to draft Peterson and let them share the workload. Hopefully, it can be as successful as Bush and McAllister in New Orleans.

The draft is going to be crazy this year. The top guy on my list that will realistically be around at pick 11 is Alan Branch. He is big, strong, fast, and versatile. He could be our future NT if Franklin doesn't pan out, or he could be BY's successor as staring DT or 3-4 NE. But I don't want to get my hopes up too much for him because while he could easily fall to us, he could just as easily go as high as #6 to the Foreskins. If we don't get Branch I like Carriker or Patrick Willis. Carriker is another versatile guy who could either play DT in 4-3 or DE in 3-4, and Willis is probably the future DROY. He will get 100 tackles this year for whatever team he plays for.

We also need one more WR, but this scares me. I would LOOOVE CJ in San fran. While we have the ammo to move up and get him, we would certainly pay a hefty price. We're talking the majority of our picks, and large chunk of our remaing cap room. He would have to be a 1200 yard 10+ TD WR out of the gate for us to justify our move.. and if he ended up being a bust(theres no sure things in football) it would be an astronomical blow.

Uhh, he sure as shit won't be available at 10, and what do the Falcons have to offer that's appealing enough to move up into the top 5?

He's a Nole. We put good 3rd down backs in the pros at least. :lol LoBo should continue the trend this year in the 2nd or 3rd round. Antone Smith future!

Yeah..don't know how I feel about this yet. Horn is a dependable receiver and could be a leader in the locker room, yet he's 35 and has been injuried alot as of late. If this discourages us from going after CJ, I will be very disappointed.
I still think we will try to make a run at CJ. I mean Shaub will be moved, for a first. Here's what i'm hearing. We will move up to the third pick. Browns get Shaub, the 10th and next years first. We will draft CJ . With CJ learning the ropes behind Horn, Jenkins and White learning to become receivers we will have a bright future once Horn retires with CJ being our number one and Jenkins and White his wingmen. Right now, the odd man out for a 3 WR set would be White, but i see us using alot of 4 wide this season anyhow.

DCX

Charlie Frye looked much improved last year.. why would the Browns trade for Schaub? They want Adrian Petersen and he won't be there at 10. I don't mind if we get Gaines at 4 instead of CJ, but let's be realistic here, that isn't a good trade for the Browns even if they end up with another 1st next year.

Nice plan DCX, but you're forgetting that the Lions are also said to be fielding offers to trade down. Theres a situation where we could give them either Smiley or Harris, the 11th pick, our 2nd round pick, a 4th rounder, and a day one pick next year to move up to #2, where we would of course take CJ..

The Browns are taking Peterson that's why the Lewis deal is only one year. It will give Peterson time to adjust to the NFL. The only way we trade out #3 is if someone comes along with an offer that the Browns can't pass up.

You sure they are still taking Peterson? They now have both Reuben Droughns and Jamal Lewis, which is a BEAST of a two headed running attack. The question is, if the Browns don't take him, who would? The next viable option to take an RB is Green Bay.

And look man, I don't care what happens, I just want Lawrence Timmons. THAT'S ALL! PLEASE!

Man, I wanted Timmons baaaad too. But with the signing of Banta-Cain theres no chance we're going after him now. The Jints may have to trade up(and lets hope they do) because I can see the Rams taking him at 14.

Yup. Chances we get him are slim to none. I can see the Rams, Panthers, Bengals and Steelers all drafting him. He's not getting past the Bungals, that's for sure. The Rams might go with Amobi Okoye, but even he might go lower with his combine performance.

Very true. I'm telling you the Falcons have the inside track @ number 3 with the Browns, but Detroit might take him 2 and shock the whole world :P
