anyone who gives the bears a 1st round pick for briggs is an idiot. by coming out and saying what he did in public, the cards rest with teams wanting to get him, not with the bears. what are the bears going to say? "give me a first rounder!" and the other team can say **** off you can let him sit on the bench in chicago we aren't giving you dick. what are the bears going to do? sit him and pay him? or fine him $10,000 a week? whatever. that's what the bears get for trying to be cheapskates like they always are and not letting him test FA. suck it beersh!

Man, we really gotta go D for the first round, because i think the O is ok.

But damn if Dwayne Boye is there when we pick, i want him

i would take him on the Skins, our front 7 could use some revitalizing. Not for our top 10 first rounder though, no way in hell. Too bad we only have like 2 other draft picks this year. THANKS BRANDON LLOYD!

Redskins | Team executes Lloyd's option
Wed, 14 Mar 2007 20:23:59 -0700

Jason La Canfora, of The Washington Post, reports the Washington Redskins executed their $5 million option on WR Brandon Lloyd, according to a league source.

Lito Sheppard had the #3 and #1 Int's on the top 10 picks of the 06 season on NFL Network. Beautiful

and they get absolutely nothing for him. why let someone stew on the bench when they clearly don't want to play for you? but that does sound like something the bears would do :lol

You seem to forget that Lance has, at every time possible, said the Bears team and coaches and fans are a different entity from the management. He has a quote something like "If I could play for this team with these fans for the rest of my career, I would. I love it."

Christ, Urlacher wants to restructure his contract for Lance to stay...Briggs would like to stay with his teammates.

I don't think he'd sit out this season if it comes to that. He does like this team too much.
But it won't come to that. It's only March for christ's sake. There is a lot of time before practices start.
He'll either be traded, or the Bears will cave and give him something he wants. Although he has said he'll "never play another down for the Chicago Bears" he has also said that he would still sign an extension he likes.

I personally take Briggs' side in this, but I see the point from both sides. Lance overperformed while not being paid well, so he wants money. The Bears offered him over 5$ mil per before this season started, and he declined, respectfully.

At the same time, the Bears have a salary cap like everyone else. We need to renew both of our CBs after this season, as well as get Tommie Harris an extension. They decided they couldn't keep Briggs long term, so they did the NFL smart thing and franchised him.

I'm sorry if fans and players don't like it, but it was agreed upon by the PA and the NFL.
So, in that sense, I'm sorry Lance. I know you do deserve to make more money, but this is a league rule.

I'm pretty excited to see what he can do with JC at the helm. I was at a few of the games and Lloyd was consistently open but MB hardly ever threw him the ball. MB didn't have the arm strength last year and he was also freezing up a bit. He looked uncomfortable/jittery in the pocket.

As soon as JC took over there was a marked improvement in the passing game, that in turn improved the running game which allowed Betts to have a banner year. JC didn't have any practice with the 1st string WR's which hurt him a bit. I'm very curious to see how half a season and an offseason of work will aid this team.

Also having both CP and Betts running next year will definitely keep defenses on their toes.

Brandon Lloyd did some decent things for us last year when given the chances, I think he'll definitely step up and become a decent #2 WR us. My website did a weekly podcast with Brandon and he's definitely the person the media makes him out to be. I find that to be the case with tons of players. He's a really cool dude and that helmet issue got blown out of proportion by the media.

God damn you Big Daddy Dan!

Wilkinson, 34, has considered retirement in recent seasons. He is also notorious for trying to avoid offseason conditioning programs and even training camp. He did not sign with the Dolphins last summer until well into camp.

This SOB is going to cost the team a draft pick unless he does something about the phone he probably broke sitting on.

That's Snyder's fault! :)

In NCAA 06 I think it was, there was a button modifier for doing different celebrations as you were about to score and then another one for after you scored. You could even go over the top and risk unsportsman like conduct penalties. I think you could also trigger it for things like post sack and what not.
Weren't the 2K football games doing this since 2K1? For TD celebrations anyway.

Dislike the Eagles? You could be my friend! :lol

Updating a previous report, John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports the six-year deal between the Philadelphia Eagles and WR Kevin D. Curtis (Rams) is worth $32 million, according to a league source. It includes a $7 million signing bonus and $9.5 million in guaranteed money.

im pretty undecided on the curtis singing. I would have rather used that money on a defensive player, or resigning stallworth, or a RB

but i guess i should be happy we're spending at all

wonder how coldblooded feels about picking up one of those shitty rams players

He told me earlier...I didnt want to believe it. If he still has my return message I'll let him post it.

Big suprise. Don't you also like Lloyd Banks? Hmm, I think I'm on to something.

'He likes St Louis, Lloyd Banks, gay sex and doesn't like Philly. I wonder detective...'

*ponders*

Do you also like Elisha Manning? I'm gonna guess 'yes'.

Llyoyd Banks and gay sex?! What were you looking at before you posted this?

I could have sworn you posted that. Didn't you used to have a lloyd banks avatar?

wasn't lloyd banks in a porn?

Anyways, what you guys think about this randy moss trade (if it goes through)? I'm thinking it could be good news for randy's career, and even better for brett favre; but at the same time it's hard to say exactly how the dude will play because he seems to never give it his all (I saw almost all the raiders games because they seem to blackout other games for some reason in the NFL).

Great, Frankie Walker is gone. So much for the Giants actually stockpiling aggressive CBs. And when will they actually try to get a possession receiver for Eli Manning? If friggin' Dave Brown had Chris Calloway Giants should be able to snag a 3rd WR known for catching a football. Geez.

We let Stallworth go for a 6yr 33 mil contract but sign Curtis to a 6yr 32mil contract. I don't keep up with the Rams, so was it worth it to us?

We'll trade you Brandon Lloyd for Brandon Jacobs! :D

Lions are looking to trade to the bottom of the first round out of the #2 pick.

Don't ask me why. I know they really like Gaines Adams but Joe Thomas seems to be a guaranteed lock. Unless they can trade to a position where they can get Adams AND something for their 2 pick, then I think any move they make is stupid.

I'd think about jettisoning Brandon "Hot Potato" Jacobs but I think if the Giants did that Wellington might have a heart attack and blame me. I'm a believer in the belief you should have a power/speed guy at RB (even if 1 has power and 1 has speed). To me Reuben and Jacobs are too similar, and Jacobs sucks at blocking.

What are you watching? BJac has great speed, but he only got to show it off I think on four plays all year, and two of 'em were called back on flags. The blocking he can work on but when they put the guy in, what kind of defenses do you think the Giants see?

That's my other bone to pick with him. For a guy so valuable to the team especially with Tiki announcing his retirement wouldn't you think Jints would utilize all his skills more in games? I don't think he had a 15+ carry game all year, and he still doesn't get down low enough on runs. I know they use him in too many power sets (I blame coaching for that), but the Giants have to know something since they haven't anointed him #1. I've seen a lot of Droughns and I liked what I saw in him to be a starter.

i really dont get our FO. we signed curtis who is less proven, 2 yrs older, and was a backup to the same amount of money that stallworth got? even worse...stallworths deal is essentially a 1 yr deal. WTF were they thinkin? now a rehabing mcnabb has to mesh with YET another new WR?

eagles fans dont know if you guys heard but mcnabb said something like "it would be nice to have a WR for more than 2 yrs"....a little too late mcnabb.

at least we did not get dayne. im happy with buckhalter as long as we decide to use him and run him on 3rd and 1 instead of throwing passes to our FB.

curtis might or might not workout but i do not like this move one bit considering we could have had stallworth.

ok now time to address the D....get vilman, doss, and draft some CBs and LBs.

maybe he shouldn't have set back the franchise by shitting out TO.

lol curtis is unproven, yet stallworth is? gimme a break :lol

he's worth the money, at least he can stay on the field and probably wont be suspended for alcohol abuse.

Having two of the same back works. Neither Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson are burners and those two led the Bears offense and helped them to the grand stage.

I'm sure the Giants will add a scatback in the draft, but having Jacobs and Droughns together tells me they're going for a power rushing attack. Coughlin always was a fan of that dating back to his Jaguar days with Natrone Means, Fred Taylor, Stacey Mack, and James Stewart.

Plus, they wouldn't have to change anything if Jacobs *knocks on wood* gets hurt by bringing in Droughns and carrying the load. With a small back, they would have to.

As for his blocking? It's painfully obvious you didn't pay attention to him in that regard.

You're upset Walker is gone? He was a walking penalty flag.

As for the possession WR... you are reminded Amani Toomer is still a Giant.

MaestroRyan said:
... but the Giants should consider drafting a change of pace back that can help out in the receiving game, maybe a guy like Brian Leonard, Ramonce Taylor, or Garrett Wolfe.
Brian Leonard? Not now with Droughns on board. Plus they would be forced to pick him in the top three rounds. I rather focus on WR, LB, CB, or OL.

Garrett Wolfe comes to mind and he will be easily be there in the 4th round.

Both Jacobs and Droughns are capable of catching the ball out of the backfield.

stallworth is more so proven than curtis. curtis might work but i really dont trust the eagles when it comes to WRs. stallworth is proven in the sense he played for us and he showed what he can do with mcnabb throwing him bombs. stallworth is injury prone but so is mcnabb, so is westbrook, and other players on the eagles. stallworth also played full seasons in 04 and 05 so its not like he breaks down every yr.

nothing has come out of the drug abuse and im waiting to see. but its not like eagles dont deal with players who have had run ins before, although they do like to shy away from such players.....we just resigned buckhalter who has had drug issues and is injured a lot.

but whatever im satisfied with the offense as is....we just need to address the D badly now. i want a killer defense like we used to have a few yrs back.

MaestroRyan said:
There was still a noticeable difference in Benson/Jones' style and uses. Jacobs is a tank, Droughns is not a tank, but as slow as one. The guy is fairly shitty.
Dude, Droughns is sweet and if he gets behind a decent line in NY he's gonna rush for 1200 and 12 TDs this year.

Anyways, rumor has it that Kevin Curtis didn't sign with the Lions because-- wait for it-- he didn't want to live in Detroit. :lol that's why he was almost a lock to continue playing with Martz one week, until the next day after his visit he fired his agent and left town. :lol

True but I was suprised they went after Droughns. I just thought they'd draft a scatback and have Jacobs/Ward/rookie RB. Though the move may have been more jettisoning Carter for something.

As for his blocking? It's painfully obvious you didn't pay attention to him in that regard.
I know his first season his blitz pickup skills were so atrocious the staff couldn't have him on the field in passing situations. He got better last year but a shorter Tiki Barber was light years better than he was.

You're upset Walker is gone? He was a walking penalty flag.
And the penalties were a result of aggression, as opposed to Corey "10-yard cushion" Webster. I can't kill penalties like that too much. He was certainly better than Skates Deloatch back in 2005-06, and for some reason Deloatch got playing time despite seemingly getting flagged for two PI/H/IC calls a game.

As for the possession WR... you are reminded Amani Toomer is still a Giant.
Yep but I view him more than a simple possession guy and should be getting 6-8 catches a game. I'm talking about a 3rd down receiver who either is a tall guy (Jurevicius), burner (that guy on the Panthers) or goes to the 1st down marker and squats (what stupid Coughlin has Shockey doing).
