Not a bad deal at all for a 6th.

A.A. is actually the defensive equivalent of Rex Grossman. Rex has "**** it i'm going deep" while Adam has "**** it i'm dive tackling".. some time he hits the guy some times he doesn't.. its about 50/50.

Geez

AA isn't that bad. Now there is a guy named Carlos who plays for the skins that fits that description pretty well... I'd put him right below Michael Lewis (and yes, i know that isn't saying much.)

:lol

DY_nasty is right though; Archuleta at least had some utility. Everytime Carlos Rogers steps on the field I pray to God the WR he's covering isn't running a deep route. And I'm an agnostic! :lol

real quick check, as of right now who DOESN'T have the patriots has their superbowl pick?

I certainly don't. Don't know who I do have, but pencil in 'someone who isn't the Patriots' for now.

damn that... i hate to admit it but the Pats are probably gonna win the whole thing this year. Not like anyone's gonna beat em BUT

from the looks of the NFC, I'd say the Saints have the most realistic shot. Dan Morgan can't stay healthy enough to keep the Panther's D respectable. The Bucs won't be able to win with pansies throwing the ball (can't go deep with a limp wrist). The Giants still have a crap head coach and no real playmakers on offense.

*and i aim that DIRECTLY at plax, all those times you see him make a 'spectacular catch' you should really call it a 'spectacular almost-dropped pass'. If it hits your hands, bring it in. dont fiddle with it and look like your trying to chokeslam a greased monkey.

Bears should've got David Carr, ***THE MOST UNDERRATED QB IN THE LEAGUE***, instead they chose to keep Mr. Magoo at QB. Seahawks are gonna be screwed because their division just got a LOT harder and if they make the playoffs with anything better than an 8-8 Wild Card, I'll be suprised.

and plz dun ban
but i've got the niners as my dark horse >_<

Texans close to acquiring QB Matt Schaub...

From what I read, the deal is...

Falcon gets:
#8 overall (2007)
Houston's 2nd rounder (2007)
Houston's 2nd rounder (2008)

Texans get:
QB Matt Schaub
#10 overall (2007)

dude, I hate the Patriots, and while they could very well implode this season, anyone who doesn't have them penciled in is a dumbass. They are the strongest team right now, in the entire league.
You have obviously succumbed to evil.

Patriots reign of terror is over. Steelers will knock them out of the AFC Championship at Heinz field. Cowher could never win there, but the Messiah will show Tomlin the way to the promised land.

If the Texans get Schaub as it looks like they will, then the Bears would be stupid not to try to get Carr.

Here's your solution to all your problems, Chicago! Send Briggs down there now for Carr and a first day pick next year. Texans are happy to get a sweet LB and another draft pick, Briggs is happy cuz he gets to shine on defense the way he wants, Bears are happy cuz they get a sweet QB and rid of an ulcer right now, and Carr is happy cuz he immediately gets to compete for the starting job on a superbowl caliber team.

You are spot on in your assessments, except you forgot to mention that the Redskins are #1 in the NFC now with a healthy Clinton Portis.

OMG OMG OMG OMG SCHAUB TRADED TO TEXANS LOLOL

CARR AM CRASHED LOL BOMBA MEGATON X-D

Amazed no one else is talking about this.

I think it's a pretty stupid ass move by the Texans. Then again, they are getting a guy that is at least familiar with a pro-offense than some big headed rook with that second pick. Eh... I guess I can see it being decent.

Now they just have to give Schaub an OLine and a second receiver. You have to be able to leverage a Carr trade for something in either of those two positions.

OMG now that Striker posted the details the Texans got FLEECED. Subtract one second rounder and I would be fine with that deal.

Just got reported like 30 minutes ago, give it a little time to develop, only people who read sports blogs or actually watch the NFL Network know right now. Pasquarelli hasn't had a chance to scoop it yet!

Texans got absolutely fleeced if that trade of 2 2nd's and 2 spots down is true. That's the most I've ever seen a 6 TD/6 INT 52% passer get!

GOOD BYE COUSIN DAVID THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES OF ONLY BEING ABLE TO BEAT THE JAGS CONSISTENTLY

*One weak tear drop*

Ok now that I got that out of my system...

I hate trading draft picks!

Time to develop a man crush on Schaub, but its going to be hard to do...he doesnt have Davids pretty hair :(

No way the Texans can get rid of Carr unless they get raped,it was always going to be this way unless we held on to him and thats being raped too.

Schaub better change his number ...ITS BAD LUCK !

He lead the league in passer rating for half the season though.... Bwargh.

Eli for carr straight up. :)

Glad to see you're coming to your senses about Manning. Maybe he wishes he was in San Diego now....

2 2nd rounders? WTF?

Any chance Reagor gets moved to DE? We really need a big DT. And some help at LB.

Damn, Giant fans are off the Eli bandwagon so soon?

I stuck by T. Maddox longer than you have stuck with Eli.

At least trading for Schaub could be a good move to put asses in the seats. That's about the only positive spin I could put on that deal really.

Hmmm, I'm guess nobody with a higher pick wanted to Schaub. 8th pick and two 2nd rounders is pretty nice though, better than him sticking around and us getting nothing for him next year. The 8th pick still won't be high enough for us to get Calvin though. :(

Let me get this str8:

- They passed on Bush, then go looking for RBs
- They passed on Young, then trade for a QB

WTF? :lol

IT'SA ALL CAUSE OF ME!

They've got the overall 8th pick and I wouldn't be shocked at all if they drafted a cornerback. Someone to get left out on islands all day to die right alongside Dunta Robinson.

I don't understand all the Vick haters... I mean the man plays qb AND rb, he cant run down the field and catch it too. Schaub throws 2 td and now the whole world thinks he's brett favre's illegitimate son.

Don't forget he makes the defense better too.

Dont go down this path...you'll only get the likes of CB and maynerd started...

Exactly. Don't entertain them.

Anyway, yeah I'm starting to love this trade more and more as I think about it. We could offer the 8th pick and the 2nd round pick to move up even higher in the draft. :D

ESPN said that they switched first round picks (Houston's #8 for Atlanta's #10), and the Falcons get this years 2nd round as well as the 2008 2nd round pick.

Andokuky said:
Why trade 2 #2's for someone who hasn't done shit?

Cause now they can trade Carr who hasnt done shit for a pick, lol I dont know,my team is :(

I figure it like this:

Swapping draft picks - 2 spots, big deal.
2nd round pick(this year) - Would've been a young QB anyway, so why not go with someone with NFL exp.?
2nd round pick(next year) - Just that..

It's really not that bad of a deal. I think we overexagerated(me included).

Im hoping the Raiders are stupid enough to give us a 2nd round pick for Carr :D

Nah...unless they boost the Oline, they got hosed. Unproven QB behind a shitty oline? Yeah, good luck with that. And, I hear, that Shaub wants more money than I think he's worth. I hope they take another defensive lineman bust with their first pick. Hang in there, Matrix :(

[edit] Just read the post above...SCREW MATRIX! No suicide watch for you! Although, he'd feel right at home with our line...

I like the idea of that poster who said ship Carr to Chicago for Briggs. The only problem is that he's going to be playing second fiddle to Urlacher v2 (Demeco Ryans). Not sure if he'd want that. But if we had Briggs and Meco, holy shit. Two Lethal linebackers there.

I think we'll go after Brown or Okoye now. Before this thread I thought it'd be Landry for sure.

Hopefully the Texans can manage to get those picks back in a trade. I don't like giving up two second round picks.

the problem is he doesn't play QB well.

So by your logic, This man should be the end all be all player. I Mean, he could do all those things, and catch and punt it too...
