yesternight was the official launch for playstation in Greece.

an official event was hosted, closed to journalists and other people in the market,
featuring lots of ps3's in large plasma screens, lots of food and good wine.

accrording to the presentation, the playstation3 came from outer space to change our lives.

some people from the audience where brought up to stage to test the games, and while playing for example resistance, a couple of aliens jumped off the screen and kidnapped the player.
also while presenting genji, a samurai jumped off the screen and started hand to hand combat with the genji tester.
I guess this is how sony wants to communicate the "this is living!" moto. like things are getting very real this time..

also all people that attended the event got some presents from sony, like a usb car radio etc.

Pay an extra 95 pounds for the privilege of buying on ebay and then pay an extra 25 quid for shipping, while online stores deliver for free.

I just got an email from Simply Games saying that they're offering the PS3 for £414.99 which is £10 off retail price. Also I see that UKresistance spotted a PAL PS3 preorder that went for only £350 on ebay :lol

the place i ordered from was £415 for the console and £35 for the games

They sent it yesterday, i just spoke to Parcelforce and they state they haven't yet received it from Play, as it has to come from Guernsey to UK (So it probably will arrive with them today) and then they send it on to me.

My friend got an invitation from Sony Finland through his company to the finnish Playstation 3 launch party. I'm going with him, this evening at 8pm.

I'll report if there's anything interesting there. I highly doubt so, but at least there will be free food, free drinks, boring finnish celebrities and shitty bands.

Live report from the official Sydney Launch from Gamespot AU.

9.40pm: There's less than three hours to go now until the midnight launch of the PS3, and Sydney's Pitt St mall is... empty. Workers are still setting up barricades leading into the entrance of the Myer store, and the big screen to be used for showing Casino Royale at 10pm was just erected 15 minutes ago. 2Day FM radio personality Lizzy Lovett has been hyping up the non-existent crowd. Here's hoping some eager gamer's line up soon.

10.00pm: Still no-one lining up behind the official barricades, but a small group of curious onlookers have started to gather outside and around the stage.

10.15pm: We just spoke with Sony Computer Entertainment Australia head Michael Ephraim, who said that he still expects the PS3 to become the winner in this generation of consoles. As for the launch finally happening after months of waiting, Ephraim said he was excited that the time had finally come.

10.35pm: A crowd of about 100 people have now gathered around the official Myer line-up area. Simply said, no one is in the line, but a sizeable crowd is starting to gather. 2Day FM staff are walking around the crowd giving away free drinks and popcorn. Casino Royale is playing on the big screen, and is at the section where Bond is running around Morocco.

10.42pm: Alert! Alert! Five people have now actually formed a line. The movie has been paused to allow some live gameplay with people from the crowd. Gran Turismo HD is now being played on the big screen. MC Lizzy Lovett is urging the crowd to join the line.

Thats pretty sad.

Ill have my console tomorrow.

I Just spoke with PLAY.COM
They state that although your parcel may be sat at shipped most aren't actually going out until today, and those that have already gone out won't be delivered until tomorrow. So UK deliveries must be under instruction not to deliver before street date.

We just spoke to Bernie Brooks, CEO of Myer, who said that the PS3 had by far the most pre-orders of any next-generation console. Brooks quoted a pre-sale figure of close to A$2 million.

11.50pm: Getting close to launch now, and there are about 70 people in line. Updates will now become more sporadic as we cover the midnight rush.

Most pre orders than any other console? Must mean the Myer store, Xbox 360 and Wii demolished PS3 for Pre-Orders in oz.

The italian servers are full for some reason though. Aussie servers, not so much.
I hate the damn triggers though, they make my fingers hurt more than what the Xbox 30's did.
