Who cares what the box art looks like???

Im picking my PS3 up in 16 hrs. I couldn't care less if Motorstorm had a pic of Bill Gates asshole as long as the game I boot up is Motorstorm

Found an even better deal. Buy ps3 on launch day and I can get 90euro of instore credit, which I can pay for a ps3 game and have 20euros left. Add Casino Royale and I have a 60gb ps3 for 480euros. CRAZY! Retailers are fighting for my cash and I like it!

It's mine!!
I've done all the set up and registrations,downloaded the GT HD demo and played a bit Motorstorm which is really fun and with really next gen graphics.
The console is very sexy and shiny but also huge (more than it seems in pictures and videos) and quite heavy. It's also really silent.
Unfortunately my HD TV arrives only next week and right now I'm using it on my Trinitron 16:9 32" so I've not quite had the full experience also for Blu Ray movies :D and of course I'm waiting for the new firmware to test BC and the new features.

The first one in Belgium went to a teenager who contacted Make-a-Wish last year, when he had a life threatening disease and he desperately wanted to play with the PS3 before he might die.

If places like virgin have over ordered stock like that its no wonder all the major retailers have come up with reasons to cancel their midnight launchs.

72 left for pre-order.. thats insane :lol my local game had 5 360s and 16 Wii's on their launch. The stock for the PS3 is huge.

The Mediaworld in my city in south Italy had 160 units today. 20 units left for the public (non pre-ordered) this evening when I picked up mine.

i'm in paris and can't be bothered to walk down to champs eleysee to check out the launch, so does anyone know where i could find pics of the launch at Virgin megastore and Fnac on the champs?

I believe the European playstation 3 launch has enough consoles for everyone. This is what customer service at komplett.no said when I asked them about my pre-order:

Translation: As far as I know one shipment will be sent on Thursday and one on Friday. We will receive approx. 1000 which ships off in our first consignment on Thursday. :D

Head of Sony Europe confirmed for GameBiz that Sony will have 1,000,000 units on DAY 1. So, unlike some here believed, 1 million is actually day one units, not some 1 month period...

They bumped up the UK's allocation from 220k -> 300k and France up to 100k from 60k (iirc).

I await the european PS3 hatah's posting big mostrous stacks of PS3 pictures. It wouldn't be a PS3 region without them :lol

ohoho.... I actually thought that would have been possible since they have production issues sorted...

... so Sony will have 1.3 mill for launch then? Cant wait for reports of "desperate" salesman trying to sell PS3's...

I'm heading to Melbourne Central to pick it up. Not sure how late I will arrive though. Before 11 at least since I heard they would prepare all the receipts at that time.

I think their delivery estimate is a bit optimistic. ^^ Nevertheless, I should receive it tomorrow with any luck (I'm using express delivery).

I've heard good things about RR7 though.

resistance is an awesome game. just take a look at the official thread and read other reviews. there are far more great reviews than bad ones.

Edit: I'm picking up Motorstorm, F1, Resistance and Vf5.
I would have definately picked up Ridgy if I hadn't played ridgy 6 to death on the 360.
Great bloody game, I will no doubt still pick up ridgy7 at some point in the future.

Fair enough, I'll stick with my initial 3, cheers guys. Still want F1 though, although I guess there's always next month after pay-day. =)

I'm hoping by that they mean "Shipped yesterday but couldn't be arsed to update your account. Expected delivery date: it'll be there by the time you get to work."

I'm not holding my breath, though.

can't you do maths??? check the recepit, it's 45 each game (25% discount), so it's like paying full-price (59,90) for both Motorstorm and Resistance but just around 10€ for Genji 2.

on a side note, my PS3+Free Virtua Fighter 5+Free Sony HDMI just reached my city, I should have it in a couple hours max! HYPEEEEE!!! :)
