I have never seen that one before, I would have bought that one considering its only 40$ more than the Hori I just bought and it has the "wine glass" style stick..anyone know if there is a mic input on it??·feist· said:

This is for the Xbox though·feist· said:
You can tech roll with P+K+G or if you've already hit the ground you can jam on the G button to roll out of the way or the P button to try and get up faster.quicksilv said:can anyone help a vf5 noob here? i get my ass handed to me online which is fine by me (right now), but i would like to know how i can getup faster so people don't get easy damage by using UP+P. I can techroll in DOA4 by using X at the moment i hit the ground but that doesn't seem to work in VF5 (or am i not timing it right?).
Been going through the dojo movelist but can't find it there.

Never seen that in tourny's. But even then vf4 imo is a whole lot better than 5._dementia said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ2OXoIwKb0
Skip forward to about 4:05.
Yeah, that was really cool.Pachael said:Stat-tracking + AI mode from VF4 = Awesomeo. Please do it if you can, the one in VF4 is very functionable and great to use as a training mode (practice against yourself)
some attacks can beat out throws this time, due to the clash system. You just have to put your self in a guaranteed throw position.YawnMan said:How the FUCK did AM2 go from vf4 to vf5? vf5 feels completely broken to me. Things dont make sense at all! Like for example, in vf4 it was easy to put in a throw when you blocked a big move. Thats how its supposed to be imo. And here people can just put in a punch. It just makes it more mashfriendly and completely ruins it for me.
I played vf4 evo to death because imo its not just the best beat ' em up ever, but also one of the best games ever. And the more I play vf5 the more I think it sucks. vf4 was perfect.

Yeah, it's just for a visual. The bullet points above my post show that they'll use an X360 PCB in the chassis._dementia said:This is for the Xbox though

twinturbo2 said:I'm trudging through Quest mode as Aoi, and I'm wondering, how do you unlock the costumes for the other characters? I think I can unlock the costume items through the main "customize" menu, but what about the extra costumes? Will they be item prizes? I want that "all items unlocked" achievement, BTW...
Yeah, I have Aoi's third costume now, but what about unlocking costumes for the other characters?PepsimanVsJoe said:I believe you unlock new costumes through ranks. Like you get your 3rd costume when you reach 1st Dan and your 4th some time after that.

Oh, okay, I get it now. I have to do it individually with each character? And is this to unlock the costumes, or are there other things that need to be unlocked? Can I get an item list?PepsimanVsJoe said:It works the same way. Just start up quest mode with the character you want to unlock stuff for and go to it.
Masta_Killah said:Besides the Hori sticks, are there any other sticks I can get? Anyone know if this is a good one?

Okay, so I have to play quest mode with every character to get the "all items unlocked" achievement. This is going to take a while. That achievement should be more than 50 points...PepsimanVsJoe said:Nope. You unlock items/emblems only for the character you're currently using. Thankfully with how well the game is designed you can play the same character for hundreds if not thousands of hours and not get bored with him or her.

1. It's so different from VF1 and VF2!! :lol :lol
2. My skills are pretty pre-historic now! :lol :lol
but it's pretty fun. Being able to play a human opponent, really changed the way I felt about fighting games, and thinking about reading some faqs regarding my fav. Sarah - but I see that she's ranked "C" character.![]()

SaitoH said:Man, don't worry about what rank the character is. Vf is a well balanced fighter, so It won't make any real difference unless you are a top tier tournament player. Just pick a character you like and stick with them.

lachesis said:Yeah, I hear you.
One of the reason that I picked Sarah was that her moves are simpler to execute w/ crummy 360 pad and since she's got pretty fast and effective basic moves, it would be easier to understand the inner workings of the VF itself w/o overwhelming myself. Time to check out various strategies vs different characters, and prepare myself for some serious ranking match challenges.![]()

Oh, I hope this video will help your Sarah skills (vanessa players should watch too)

Here's one for Jacky if you think about going to him:

Oh, thank God. That would have taken ages.PepsimanVsJoe said:Um..no you don't.
It says it right on the achievement listing:
"Collect all items using the same character data."
So all you have to do is use one character and collect all of their stuff to get the achievement.
Gotta love the reaction after being up 2 and then dropping 2 on the verge of a loss.lachesis said:Thanks for the vids!(man, that Vannessa is fierce!)

The lag is acceptable , theres almost none.
What is unacceptable however, is the horrid , HORRID 360 d-pad.
I mean WOW , this thing is TERRIBLE.
Hit forward and it does forward up,every friggin time.
I smashed the controller once and broke it lols.
Good thing it was my old one , which i had modded the d-pad on, and is still terrible.
And man , its hard playing people with goh.
I love it , but people do that up+punch when youre on the ground TOO MUCH.
Not everyone , but most people over use it and its damn annoying.
Either way , with a proper controller , i will be much better.
Anyone have any suggestions for controllers with a decent d-pad?
Controllers not arcade sticks please.
Thanks!
Try using the analog stick. I use Goh as well and had the same complaints for a while, but then I learned how to do an Offensive / Defensive Move and tech rolls. I definitely improved after that, even though I still need expand my current move set.therapist said:Finally got it.

Masta_Killah said:Guess you can sign me up for that. I haven't played a VF game since part 2. Is there a good, all around, noob charcter I can run with? I used to play with Akira and the drunk guy, but their moves are a lot more complex then when I last played. I don't want a button masher character, just someone with easier to pull off moves.
