Online console shooters with no auto-aim

Anytime someone wants to play Lead and Gold with me, I will use my controller and we will see how bad I get slaughtered. When a developers puts proper support for both KB/M and controller, it all comes down to personal preference. Many, many matches of Lead and Gold have me at the top of the leaderboard and that is playing against KB/M users.

FPS's are more than just aiming. Especially when you are talking about a class based game with teams.

I have a friend that does fairly well with a controller on Blops against M+K players. But he has logged insane hours of play on the game and knows the in outs far better than most players. So that helps :)

for me killzone 2 was a multiplayer game that I would have really liked if it was on PC.

For me, Kz2 mp felt like it was developed by guys with PC FPS sensibilities. That tickled me the right way. Required movement skills, map control skills, actual teamwork, decent level of HP and some clever ideas on how to get players competing for objectives (bonus point zones and whatnot). Refreshing for a console shooter that doesn't 100% rely on aiming skill to be competitive.

No wonder I've never been that fond of the more popular shooters.

My first real experience (not including demos from pc gaming magazine running on a pentium II compaq machine) was socom and socom 2. And ever since then its been socom, socom socom and a few offline shooters of course.

This thread now shows me why I like certain games, killzone series, left 4 dead, socom etc.. its the lack or minimal aim assist.

I now have something to base on whether I will or will not buy a game, before its released I will find out what kind of aim assist system the game is using.

I've never been much of a call of duty or halo player. And I guess coming from a lack of auto aim I take longer to shoot as I am trying to line up my shot, everyone else is just running around on aim assist and is used to just shooting at anything that moves as they will most likely get a kill.

Learn something new every day.

Some people like to be able to put a disc into a system and have it play their game without hours of fiddling around with settings and editing ini files.

And you don't have to do that with pc games.....
