if maybe both

So which events should I watch out for, PersonaGAF? Guide me!
It will make you 7 years late.
MC unleashing his inner Joker looks great, he should really keep the glasses off.
I doubt they would reuse the exact same shadow/inner self concept from P4 though, wonder what Joker MC's deal is.
Whoa, like, a Persona is just like a mask we wear to hide out true selves.
Deep.
Persona 2.
I'll hype my body if all of this AND they release a Persona 3 Platinum edition for Vita/PS4.

It's sarcasm, guys.

DAT HYPE IS TOO MUCH FOR ONE MAN TO HANDLE.
I thought P4 kind of deviated too far from the pseudo-psychological-circa-mysticism of the other games, only really acknowledging it on a surface level with the Shadow selves, so seeing the mask theme, and the game being about the faces we put up in public, gives me hope they'll have more of a psycho-social focus.
Eh, I think it's just that persona 4 is a lot more positive about those aspects.
Thanks. I missed the newspaper ad by an hour because I was taking a nap (should have known something like that would happen) but, other than that, I've been trying to keep everyone as up-to-date as possible, while updating the OP for those who aren't following everything too closely.
The next one (#8) and the last one (#14)
The "phantom" gives me a vibe that the 14th event is more like....a tease about the concept of the story and its themes. Some anime footage introducing this character and maybe tying him to shadows or a shadow world entry method (e.g masks functioning like midnight hour or tv travel.) A trickle of P5 story info leading to more speculation.
That's stuff I'm sure I'll be hella interested in when I play the game, but footage or a date is infinitely more important to me right now. It's just...for the last 7 years or so I've been expecting to see this game in action and being let down, to the point where now I expect anything but.

literally the entire basis of the series
The series is called "Persona."
Is like is the main theme of this games...
Persona 3 was way worse about not giving a fuck about the psychological aspect of the series. They don't even talk about Shadows being part of the psyche until The Answer.
I know there's sarcasm and whatnot involved here, but in general, the speculation that the theme of P5 is going to be represented by literally the physical form of the core series concept is making me smile. It reminds me of the mayhem on the internet when it was revealed that Skyward Sword's logo was literally the Hylian Crest.

Saw this on Tumblr, take this as you want.
My mind's telling me no.
But my body...
My body is telling me yes!
What? If you talk to the S.E.E.S team during some nights they even mention that their personas are formed by their personalities. It wasn't something that was ignored till the end, the only thing S.E.E.S didn't know is how they even got personas in the first place. Meaning they don't know who Philemon even is at all.
Whats everyones opinion on Mcdonald-chan from dancing all night? Like from a design point of view.
Yeah I just call her mcdonalds-chan cause her color scheme makes me think of mcdonaldsI thought it was grown Nanako the first time I saw her =X (I hope you're talking about Kanamin)
They acknowledge that the Personas are based on their personalities, yes, but, for instance, the only system in the game that fits the Jung metaphor of "Personas are the masks we wear among different people and in different situations" is that Social Links level up more if you have a Persona of the corresponding arcana. One thing P3 did that really hurt the psychological metaphor - and P4 as well, by virtue of carrying over this system - is the whole "only the protag can change Personas at will" mechanic, which flows totally against the whole "everyone has different sides to them" theme. Not to mention the thing I spoiler'd. The Jung stuff in P3 is suuuuper surface level and poorly done compared to, say, Persona 2, and Atlus knows it which is why The Answer retroactively tries to fix at least some of it.

Pepsiman is showing a translated SMT documentary on his stream before things get started :O
But here is the thing, the persona 3 cast didn't change their attitudes much. So there wasn't much need for switching personas alot.

I don't know. I like her design more than other additions like Marie and Sho Minazuki. But she's not what I imagined coming from the description in Rise's social link. Maybe I'll have a better opinion when I see the character model.
Err, they kind of did. It's what causes their personas to transform.
