The way down represents the real world.
The pole represents student loans, which help you get over the hurdle, and then...

I am a bit weirded out by that dude. He is a fat bearded man, who for some reason has some kind of fame in the reddit/4chan/whatevs-scene for sitting in his chair and making faces. I'll have to admit I like the sunglasses gifs but I am not exactly sure why he is a self-contained meme. maybe i am just missing something
