Bayonetta? MGR?
Don't care if this is a joke or not serious I demand someone ban this sick filth.
Bayonetta? MGR?
So, here's what I think is going to happen:
Airbending: light, fast melee attacks
Earthbending: slow, heavy melee attacks and parries
Firebending: projectiles (Gunslinger)
Waterbending: secondary, weird melee weapon, like Bayonetta's whips
That, or Trickster-style dodges, probably.Airbending for projectile parries?
Just for reference, this is what it's like working on a licensed Activision game: http://www.examiner.com/article/ex-high-moon-studios-employee-on-deadpool-troubled-development
Doesn't seem to be much of an overlap between them, much like Avatar/Korra fans. Fans of the older show in both groups tend to rage when compared to the newer one, though.Gurren Lagann/KLK fans are the worst
...The fact that I JUST finished watching the original Avatar series makes this all the more crazy. O_O
Guess I'd better start catching up on Korra.
Better be Sokka DLC, or it's gonna be somebody's ass.
You have to remember most of us who dislike Book 2 watched it as it aired, and had to stew on the mediocrity for week upon week and had that 3 week break between October and November. Although the break started right after the best episodes in the series aired. It's probably much more enjoyable to binge watch it rather than week by week. Please don't. Keep your experience in that universe pure.
I think you're overestimating the care, budget and development cycle leeway Activision gives to its licenced properties based on that article Nirolak posted. And this isn't even Spiderman, Transformers or The Walking Dead. I had to Google the property, which was apparently a cancellation risk due to low ratings.I'm surprised at how many people seem to think that an announcement means that devs are going to be working on it NOW, and are therefore worried about the short development period.
They've probably been working on this for months if not over a year now.

"Hello darkness my old friend"
Still the best character in the franchise
Book 1 ended on a note that made me think "I can't believe they went there on a Nickelodeon show."
Book 2 ended on a completely underwhelming fantasy cliche/trope checklist.
I have a lot of hope for Book 3 returning to the style of Book 1.
They made MGR in like a year. It's a combination of my favorite developer, who even with 6 months or 4 months, I can't see them making a BAD combat system, and one of my favorite shows ever. I think even a mediocre platinum game will be fun to play.
And it could be much worse. We could've gotten a Wayforward game that would've been nothing but pretty sprites and shallow gameplay. I think Platinum's worst is far better than what a lot of other developers would make.
That's because Kojipro had already spent a year before laying down most of the ground work.

Bayonetta isthe greatest action game ever made and MGR is an incredible achievement given the development timeframe, so...arguably

PG/Saito threw all of it out aside from the "cut everything" philosophy
They're good games. But I don't think they're 'balls-out amazing".
Not that platinum arn't already irrelevant in the big picture of videogames, but is the point we look back to as the downhill slide to nonexistence? doing activision licensed work

Screens look bad.
Risings screens also look bad but it was still a great game.Screens look bad. Not much hope.

Bayonetta? MGR?
As opposed to what? Just out of curiosity?
Right. The game doesn't look too interesting, but that seems a little odd indeed. Would love to know what Activision was thinking there, contracting a famous developer to develop a game for every platform except the one where 75% of their previously announced current generation output and most of their hardcore fan base is.No Wii U version, just going to point that out here and now.

I'm sure activision is fine with passing on what little hardcore fans P has to try and hit decent numbers on the back of the TV show
Probably. On the other hand, the dev has experience working on the platform, and it's downloadable so there's no inventory risk - might not be much, but I believe Activision is potentially leaving money on the table.I'm sure activision is fine with passing on what little hardcore fans P has to try and hit decent numbers on the back of the TV show
