Translator-san better be in this game.
exactly.
I like Souls as much as the next guy, but there are no characters known enough to put in a project like this. I could imagine the hub being a background stage, but that's about it.
http://totalplaystation.com/ps3/playstation-all-stars-battle-royale/previews/10445/2/But even moving away from the technical side of things, Battle Royale is simply a blast to play, and entirely accessible. Whether you're doing long chain combos with Kratos, raining lead down on your foes with Sweet Tooth's level 3, or butt stomping fools with Fat Princess, the game is instantly entertaining. It's having a hydra from God of War wreaking havoc while you do battle in Metropolis, or needing to answer Buzz! trivia questions in the middle of a match on the ever shifting Little Big Planet Dreamscape. It's madness for sure, but controlled madness. The kind that makes enough sense that anyone can follow it, but is just crazy enough for 4 strangers sitting on a couch together to get hype about.
That's fanboyish and you should consider what you are saying.
That's like being upset if Burger King copied a food product from McDonalds.
As far as the rest of the world is concerned? They REALLY don't care if there are competitor versions of a good product. In fact... we actually LIKE having competitors don't we?
Isn't the knight on the cover supposed to be Ostrava?
If they did pick someone from Demon's Souls, either Yurt or Maiden in Black would probably be the most iconic characters to choose. Although even then I'm not really sure what kind of move set you could give the Maiden.
I would be happy enough if we could just get a Demon's Souls themed stage and an excuse to include some of the great music from that game.
Maybe Nariko.
I think this looks like ass, honestly. It reminds me of that Heroes on the Move game only in a fighting game variant. I don't get the crossover game appeal at all. Pitting characters against each other from games that I like is just a boring concept to me. I've never been a fan of Smash Bros. either so maybe this scene just isn't for me.
http://www.shacknews.com/article/73545/playstation-all-stars-battle-royale-previewUpdate: Apparently, you can get pummeled to death; the early build of the game I played did not reflect that in the HUD. Nor did it occur in any of my gameplay sessions. Special attacks were the only way KOs were performed at this event
Maybe you should read the previews. Why is it fanboyish to point out something so obvious? I like Sony, I've owned every Sony console since the PSX, and I'm shocked at just how shameless this is. I was very interested in this game, but saying this is just inspired by a certain other franchise is a vast understatement.
That said, I hope they can pull it off that the game feels and plays differently enough, we'll see, but from these videos it really looks like an almost exact copy.
Yes, probably Nariko.
Wait a minute...
Maybe Yorda as well?

Since the leaked source was pretty much right on everything I guess these characters are confirmed
Nathan Drake
Jak & Daxter
Nariko*base on old screenshot that looks like Nariko.
James Bond
Ratchet&Clank
Sackboy
Maybe Yorda as well?
Ico and Yorda..Wander with Agro horseback attack special and shadow form..Hnnnnnnng..if only..maybe?

Yeah you are right.I might be remembering incorrectly, but didn't the Paul Gale site say that James Bond wasn't actually confirmed, just that they were considering him.
I'm still kind of hoping that he isn't in at all. I would rather have them focus on Playstation characters or else third party characters that have strong ties to Playstation such as Crash and Spyro.
Yes, probably Nariko.

The person that said this is Smash before Smash Wii U comes along in 2 - 3 years is the person I agree with. I have about as much connection to Sony's IPs as I do a rock in my backyard, and the premise seems far stupider and less appealing than Nintendo's offering (which works for the obvious reason), but I dunno. If it's packed with content and actually fun to play I'll probably get it. I really hope it has a cool single player campaign that plays on all the franchises. Nintendo fucked that up with the Smash series.
I hope that's the case, because that would make it even better, imo, and much more interesting.http://www.shacknews.com/article/73545/playstation-all-stars-battle-royale-preview
I guess this build didn't include it, and I imagine it would take much longer.
Good eye there. But I doubt she would be playable, maybe a background character model, or maybe Yorda and Ico fight together as one.
Reading all the suggestions for characters here, man, this game has a lot of potential DLC
Exactly, hell I'm surprised it's taken this long for more games of the Smash style to be made, excluding Jump Superstars, Battle Stadium D.O.N., etc.I'm not getting why people actually care that it's a blatant ripoff from Nintendo.
If the game is fun, who cares? I'm excited for it--it looks like it will be a blast to play.
I think SuperBot really needs to hunker down and listen to the fans while developing this game. How close they work with the community will dictate this game's final quality.
I think they nailed it so far, I would just like to see their color palette a little more vibrant.

Some of the character suggestions in here are getting me even more hyped, I really can't wait to see what SuperBot & Sony put into this game.
