Yeah I agree, I hope they reveal like one character per week until E3!
I do hope there are some surprises they don't announce though.

I say they should do 4 or 5 1st party character announcements before the show.
The characters I hope they reveal next:
PS1: Daniel Fortesque, Blasto
PS2: Ratchet, Clank
PS3: Cole MacGrath, Nathan Drake
They should reveal them in batches of 6, with 2 from each generation of PlayStation, each time.
Yes, they will reveal some more characters the day before their E3 press conference, the website confirms it.So do you guys think there will be any character announcements before e3?
I say they should do 4 or 5 1st party character announcements before the show. (Nathan Drake, Cole McGrath, Jak, Daxter, Ratchet and Clank)
And then focus on some big 3rd party characters at e3.
Following the 24 characters rumor, I think this would be a reasonably well-balanced roster:
PS1:
- Parappa
- Sweet Tooth
- Sir Daniel
- Robbit (Jumping Flash)
- Specter (Ape Escape)
- Blasto
PS2:
- Kratos
- Sly
- Jak
- Ratchet
- Valus (SotC)*
- Rau Utu (Mark of Kri)
PS3:
- Radec
- Fat Princess
- Drake
- Cole
- Nariko
- Ellen (Folklore)
PSP/Vita:
- Jeanne D'Arc
- Kat (Gravity Daze)
THIRD-PARTY:
- Crash
- Spyro
- Cloud
- Snake
I think though that Ratchet and Clank would form one character. I believe Jak and Daxter were the same when they were 'revealed' to be so in the PGN rumours. No reason not to believe them now is there? The characters I hope they reveal next:

Final boss in single player mode should be a giant enemy crab.
I would assume it would be Ratchet & Clank together and Jak & Daxter together as well. No reason to not have them as such unless they really wanted to make them each separate characters, which is highly unlikely.
What in the hell is that rat doing
It's like a punishment done to "bad girls" in Rule of Rose, basically they tie a rat onto a stick and smother it to the bad girl. The ones doing that punishment were evil bully girls.
There's a part where they tied a dead, maggot-infected rat onto a stick and proceeded to rub into one of the "bad girl's" face.

Sooooo have to play that now.
Even better: a Lumines level. What about a Lumines character?
Looks beautiful on PCSX2. Save states make it bearable too as the combat is pretty shit. Great concept and atmosphere though.Sooooo have to play that now.
And little boys, and incest and lesbians and an insect sack and...It involves little girls though.
I'm not missing "the point".There is no big "point" to get. It's mixing up franchises to create fun and interesting stages, what's so hard to understand about that? While having completely different franchises clashing is fun, who are you to say similar franchises clashing wouldn't be just as fun for everyone else? But I mean, unless you want to claim there is some big "point" that I don't "get" . . . sure believe what you want. Feel superior because you "get" something that is flying over all our heads.I feel like the people suggesting stages like this, or mixing two racing stages together, are kinda missing the point. From the stages we've seen, the idea seems to be:
1) Stages that are thematically disparate (God of War + Patapon, Ratchet & Clank + God of War)
2) Games that couldn't really justify a full stage in and of themselves (Buzz, Hot Shots Golf)
Mixing up two games with similar themes wouldn't be nearly as fun as these.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npHTJj7DBiA&t=1m56sSecond the Groovitron. The though of seeing Sweet Tooth and Kratos dancing about is just too good for it not to be included.
The game is a bit clunky and draggy but it's dark and creepy as hell. It's a good J-horror game.
It involves little girls though. Here's the opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okABK7DS2aY

Come on. Are you serious? Mario characters beyond Mario aren't padding, they're just as important to the Mario series as Mario himself, and many of them have their own spinoff games or even series. They don't include multiple characters from the same series because they have to to get a decently-sized roster, they do it because they're popular characters who often present interesting gameplay possibilities.
You don't have to put down Smash to express your excitement for this game. Smash is great. This game looks like it could be great. Nintendo and Sony both have sizable rosters to choose from.
Smash's character selection does a pretty good job with both breadth and depth. As far as this game goes, they should probably go more for breadth. But the second time around, assuming it turns out to be good? Go for a bit more depth, start filling up the roster a bit with multiple characters from different franchises. Throw in Zeus, Dollface, Sully, Daxter and Clank as their own characters, Captain Qwark and Dr. Nefarious, Murray and Bentley, Um Jammer Lammy, whatever.
That is yet to be proven. So far we have 6 characters that all have unique move sets, but that doesn't mean the rest of the characters won't consist of some clones.I'm not putting down Smash, it's just that in the midst of all the accusations being directed at Battle Royale as a rip-off I thought I'd highlight one facet in which the latter has a legit advantage. Maybe padding was the wrong word to use in relation to multiple Mario characters but the point still stands; there is a reliance on secondary characters in SSB and some of them play as clones. If Battle Royale can have 24 first party characters all from different IPs and all with their own different movesets and idiosyncrasies, then that would be a sterling achievement.
*On Shadow of the Colossus: I don't think Wander would make a very good character. There are 6 other sword wielders on this list, and there's not anything unique about the way he wields his sword. And besides, what's the draw of SotC? It's not the kid with the sword. It's the giant hulking behemoths.
So I think a better character to represent SotC would be Valus, the first colossus you meet, the one on the box. Scale him down to be playable, of course, but still dwarfing the other characters; think Hulk from MvC. On top of being a more unique representative of SotC, you get a character to fill out the big, slow powerhouse archetype that's not really otherwise represented in this roster.
That is yet to be proven. So far we have 6 characters that all have unique move sets, but that doesn't mean the rest of the characters won't consist of some clones.
I sure hope not, but it's hard to make 24 or more unique move sets.
What about a Lumines character?
Legend of Dragoon is coming to the PS Store tomorrow, could be a sign.
The stages they shown so far are great and really unique.
I think we are goign to see some really great stuff.
People are seriously lacking them Tekken characters in those lists! Also no Logan from Syphon Filter for the PS1 department?
After Cole was in SFxT, who knows. Maybe Sony made some deal with Capcom, or Namco.
Then again you could say the same about Kratos in Mortal Kombat. Dear god, I don't think I could imagine Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat meeting in what is essentially Smash Brothers.
