Playstation Vita Games: What does this thing have?

I wish Vita had an RPG or some good SP games. Mine has been collecting dust ever since SFxT came out. I guess there's uhhh... Gravity Rush in two months.

How can people's Vitas be collecting dust already? It just came out!

I think it's a attention span thing, some people burn through games pretty damn fast, but since the Vita is a new system it doesn't have the constant flow of new games that some people need. Admittedly, I'm kind of like that, but Lumines alone is enough to keep me coming back every day. It's an absolutely fantastic game and it's just so damn easy to pick up and play it.

Wish I could play Phantasy Star Portable 2 on my Vita (in America). :(

I also hope a publisher will bring over Ragnarok, too.

Escape Plan, Uncharted and Gravity Dash are the only games I care for. Possibly the Blob game too, as I have seen a lot of people write good things about it.

Since I sadly would do most of the gaming at home I feel like I could find better versions of most of those games on other systems.

From what I can gather, only one of those games has a better version on home platforms (Uncharted). Escape Plan and Gravity Daze don't have a home version, and the PS3 version of Tales wasn't as well received as the Vita one.

StarDrone Extreme is out today on the EU PSN. :)

Also, I think you've put Zen Pinball 2 shots under a Pinball Arcade heading.

Ahh found something else that I forgot about, it's nearing completion according to their System 3's offical site.

Putty Squad:

Feature list:

LOCATION-BASED SERVICES
Using the Vita's in-built GPS system you'll be able to collect Putty Squad Stickers. These stickers will appear in your in-game Sticker Album. As you progress and complete pages of the sticker album you'll be rewarded with Putty Squad bonuses such as free Avatars and eventually, exclusive levels!

TOUCH-SCREEN MAP MODE
Some of the levels in Putty Squad are quite complicated so we've added a brand new feature to the game called Map Mode. This enables you to pause the action at any point and zoom into and around a map of the level. Once in Map Mode simply tap once in order to zoom into the map. You can then use your finger to drag and swipe the map in order to explore.

You can also use the map to locate MIAs (missing in action Putty friends) and plan your best route of attack. This whole process is touch-screen controlled.

REGULAR EXTRA CONTENT
There will regular content coming through after the launch of the game. Though we cannot confirm right now exactly what that will be, we are hoping to release sets of Avatars, new levels and maybe even Putty outfits!

TROPHY SUPPORT
Full Trophy support has been incorporated into the Vita version so make sure you scan that checklist and complete every little task in order to fill up your trophy cabinet.

TUTORIAL MODE
An extra section has now been added to the front of the game to help people get to grips with the many different moves and abilities Putty has at his disposal. It also adds an area where you can explore and get to grips with the controls without having to worry about being bombarded with enemies.

TIME TRIAL MODE
Some of the Trophies on offer are earned by achieving certain times in the speed runs. To help with this difficult task we've added a Time Trial mode where you can scroll through all the levels you've unlocked and play them as many times as you like. Not only does this enable you to keep trying for fastest times; it also allows you to play through your favourite levels at your heart's content and compare your fastest times online.

ONLINE LEADERBOARDS
We already know that some of you have completed the original Putty Squad many times. There are lots of extra bits for you to enjoy in this new version but where the challenge really lies is online. Complete the game and see just how good your score really is compared to everyone else.

You can also use the Time Trial mode to set your fastest level times and compare them on the Online Leaderboards too!

PLAYABLE DEMO
You'll be pleased to hear that we're planning on making a short demo available so you can all sample a few levels of the game for free. We haven't got an exact date for you just yet but keep an eye on www.system3.com for more info on exactly how you can get your hands on it.

As this amazing classic nears the end of the development period we'll be releasing screens and videos to show you all the new features.

A final release date for Putty Squad on Vita will be announced soon.

Looks pretty cool to me, I enjoy 2d platformers so stuff like this is up my ally. The music is also pretty awesome.

Pretty sure those Mortal Kombat and SFxT aren't actually representative of the Vita version's visuals.

Also, Ridge Racer was a pleasant surprise. Sure, 60fps would've been great, but the game has held my attention much longer then I initially assumed.
It helps that
the game comes with 2 unlockable cars, pre-Gold Pass content
.

Really looking forward to Putty Squad.

I agree, while I understand that unfortunetly Sony does not have anything that looks like a "system seller" quite yet, with games like Alien Spidy, Retro City, Putty Squad, Sound Shapes, Disgaea, MK, and maybe resistance coming soonish there is enough to keep my interest atleast until E3. Hopefully between the three big conferences Sony can make some Solid/Great announcements for the system to keep things moving.

I'm actually really looking forward to seeing what becomes of PSsuite and how it effects things. I won't lie in saying that there are some IOS/Anroid style games that I think could be great on Vita, even better with proper controls.

I suspect that Kaz is going to have to address the Vita in this conference he's supposed to do on thursday, but I doubt we would get game announcements from something like that.

I feared the worst for putty squad, i'm really happy! :D

yeah. I actually think one of the issues with Vita right now is the amount of games announced that still don't have solid dates yet. Really want SoundShapes and I want to believe it's coming soon, but who knows.... :(

I didn't find the official shinobido 2 thread, but the game has a demo up now (on EU PSN). I tried it, and it was better than I had imagined after the reviews.

Lumines is really, really good.
I didn't really like the series that much, but for 8GBP on Amazon.co.uk I took that risk. And boy, was that worth it.

can someone educate me how PSP games works on this?

1. Is it compatible with all the games available for PSP Go?
This list:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_downloadable_PSP_games

2. Or only some selected titles?:
This list:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/02/09/how-to-download-psp-titles-to-ps-vita/

And later more will be provided selectively for vita?
Closer to option two, however I think that list is far from complete. There's a list in one of the Vita OP's here, not sure which one though. I'll see if I can find it...

EDIT: Check this thread.

I think we're start getting a bunch of PSP games on Vita starting next week. I think they're adding like 25 psp titles for Vita. heard it from PSblogcast

yes, but overall it seems to be just like their storage cart policy: forced constraint...

thanks for the link, still disappointing... I mean, Crisis Core is not available?! And no Need for Speed :(

The thing is I really wanted a PSP, but never got one, but still think it has some really good games. I also think Vita has very few games I would buy, but later will get good games; but I may just buy a PSP if games I like aren't on Vita yet. Or not get either yet.

i think i will sell FIFA and buy Unit 13. I only have short periods of time due to my children and Unit 13 missions just seem to fit my needs. PLus with FIFA 13 on the horizon i may still sell it for a decent price.

I wonder when will sony allow PSone games to work. It is a feature that in this early days may help to overcome the lack of new releases for the system.

You know, I'm feeling really good about the Vita's upcoming games. Retro City Rampage and Gravity Daze are coming out soon, and then there's Sly Cooper which looks great. I need another 2 or 3 original Vita games and I'm set for this year.

Really hoping Soul Sacrifice makes it before the end of the year.

if they are going after hardcore gamer, Soul Sacrifice should be released WW along with the japanese version. I hope they do not screw it.

Any word on how long the OP is banned? I'd love to see this thread get updated with all the new games on the horizon.

Maybe FamousMortimer could take over? I know he runs a Vita site.
