like sony did with the ps3 when they announced it they also showed it in different colors but when it was released there was only black. Same happend with ps2 launch.

That's the thing, I'm guessing a lot of us would want at least one color beyond black itself, and given this is a handheld and not a console it's nice to have that variety to distinguish your system from others without resorting to stickers or something.
