In-game image was posted yesterday and the concept art was posted today. Some details

i'm a translator working on the upcoming pokémon game which you know as codename "pokémon stars".
I'll be leaving here few infos because u'll soon get an official announcement.

the new game will be available both for 3DS and Nintendo Switch. Only one title, not a couple of games.
the two versions can, of course, communicate.
Game will be again set in Alola, no visiting Kanto. Most of the characters will be grown up, such as Gladion that now fully runs Aether Paradise on his own.
Gyms are now built up. No more Alolan trials.
there will be no new pokémon or megas. Necrozma is getting a new form though. there will be new exclusive Z-moves. Won't say
anything more on them.
while the game is a sequel, plot is heavily focused on past events, such as black & white 2: you'll know more about how Mohn lost his memories, and how Necrozma fell into our world. (hint: "stars"!)
the game is heavily filled with cutscenes, even more than Sun & Moon.

what you see here is a grown up Gladion in his new suit. Feel free not to believe, i don't want any troubles on leaking things. Do not ask anything, I won't be saying more than what's already in the post.

boy is called kaosu, girl is called hoshi

Please be fake

Saw the option for a poll and literally entered the thread to click Thor 2 The Dark World 2

But of course this is Pokémon Stars, or w/e they're calling it.

If Capcom can release a title that runs both 3DS and Switch, I want to believe Pokemon Stars gets the same treatment. The logical part of me says they will wait till next year when the Switch is easily available in stores.

I haven't finished sun - put it down when I got my switch - but I quite liked the cutscenes and more of a focus on the story.

So... If this Direct is indeed for Pokemon Stars, what's our thought on platforms? Switch only? 3DS family and Switch? "new" 3DS and Switch?

I quite enjoyed the story and characters we got in Sun/Moon. We got some interesting themes there, and it felt like you were really journeying with your buddies instead of just crossing paths with them at certain points. Always good to see GF be more ambitious.

There was that 3DS job listing, but Eurogamer seems to still be sticking to their Switch-only guns.

this dislike for the 3DS is weird as shit on this forum

I'm playing Fire Emblem Echoes on 3DS right now and it's been like two days since I used my Switch to finish Zelda
Right? It's no trouble going back, kinda nice even.

I'm still all for Nintendo starting to quickly shift to the new platform as much as they can (and I hope Stars is a Switch game, whether there's a 3DS version or not), but it makes sense for them to keep giving 3DS some stuff.

People who would be pissed if it was 3ds only when there are only a couple million switches even out there. Imagine the kids if it was switch exclusive. I hope its 3ds too, gross platform, and that they have plenty of time to work on gen 8 from the ground up for switch

I want switch only to put the final nail in Switch as the sole owner and ruler of Japan, but it will probably be like Monster Hunter

I'm hoping this and the Diamond/Pearl is cross-release at the very least because
  1. I don't own a Switch
  2. I don't WANT to own a Switch
  3. I won't go back to playing Pokemon on a cluttered single screen especially after the great UI Sun and Moon had

also how shitty would it be to remake the games the introduced dual screens with a single screen, especially since that houses a good chunk of the game's features

As long as it's on Switch, I'm fine with it. I really want to lay my 3DS to rest for good. Monster Hunter is literally the only thing from keeping me from putting my 3DS away or selling it. Once double cross comes out in the west, then the 3DS is done in my life.

I'm going with Switch only because that's what Tom Phillips said when he broke the news. I wouldn't be surprised if a 3DS version of the game exists as well, though, as Nintendo is still keeping the 3DS afloat for the near future.

I think making it new 3DS only would negate the argument that they want to retain their 3DS userbase, as a large portion of that base is on the regular 3DS, and making it new 3DS only (+ Switch) will necessitate that base to move over - and in that case, why not make them move over to the next big thing, i.e. the Switch?

This has to be on Switch. Right? Right?

The Eurogamer rumor from last year said it was for Switch. I would be surprised if it wasn't also for 3DS given the install base there, but if they want to focus on building Switch appeal perhaps it could be Switch exclusive. I would be surprised if it wasn't on Switch at all given how on the ball EG has been.

LIES! litterally just replayed Soul Silver this last week and i fuckin loved it

That's the point

You have red, blue, yellow, green, gold, silver, crystal, red fire, green leaf, heart gold and soul silver

And X/Y is basically a tribute to Kanto, S/M featured a lot of Kanto Pokemon (all Alola Pokemon are from Kanto)

Don't you think we should try to let it go ?

It's not like S/M was the DS / 3DS Pokémon which used the dual screen less than any others iterations. Battle UI looks even ready for the Switch port.
