Can someone tell me what Pokémon stars is?
Supposed 3rd entry in the Sun/Moon generation. Y'know how Pokemon games usually come in pairs with a 3rd version in the same generation coming later?
Edit: beaten, damn this thread is moving fast
Can someone tell me what Pokémon stars is?
All of my want. Agumon, Gabumon, and... Palmon as starters? You know what's missing in the poll?
The Pokemon X Digimon crossover
Eurogamer leaked it around the day Sun and Moon came out.
It would signal that Game Freak is confident enough in the Switch stock situation for whenever it's supposed to launch. Which would be a good thing.
Again, Nintendo would not do a Nintendo Direct solely for a Pokemon game on mobile. That makes no sense.
Also:
If this really is Stars, on Switch, Nintendo could potentially have Pokemon Stars, Monster Hunter, Splatoon 2, Mario Oddyssey, Skyrim, Arms, Mario Kart, Zelda BOTW DLC and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
That's all before any big E3 announcements. That's an utterly insane lineup for a console which will be 9 months old at Christmas.
That's reserved for the exclusive Switch fully ground up built one.IF this is a Pokemon Switch announcement, I'm wondering why they wouldn't wait for their e3 direct.

The Pokemon X Digimon crossover
So we're just ignoring the Super Game Boy, Pokemon Stadium, and Game Boy Player?
what would 3D even bring? they wouldn't change the routes and world layout that much so it would be the same thing from a different angle
you're thinking there is going to be a big change of some sorts but it's just gonna look like Sun and Moon in a higher resolution
I'll say this is what I'm thinking as wellAs for my prediction -
Pokemon Stars
- 3DS and Switch title.
- Kanto sequel, set 20 years after the events of Red and Blue
- Lillie has a prominent role again, be it rival or champion
- Hau's dad is revealed, possibly a gym leader of Elite 4 member
- Daisy Oak is now the Pokemon professor
- Alola post game, possibly with gyms filling those empty construction sites
- Kantonian forms of Kalos pokemon, possibly offered a Kantonian Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie, ala the Kanto starters in X and Y
- Mega Blastoise X/Y and Mega Venusaur X/Y
- Zygarde and Necrozma play a major role
- Switch version has the added feature of Pokemon following you
Wow never realized it was a couple of bad games that set the world on fire.
/s
Say what you will about the original games themselves, at least the designs of the Pokemon themselves weren't total garbage like they have been since pretty much the third generation lol.

It is an 8 mins Direct...basically one of those long japanese trailers + an introduction. Can be just that trading card game some rumors were talking about for the Switch....people is really hyped around here. Don't blame Nintendo afterwards when you are all disappointed......
If we're ignoring the fact that playing a handheld game on a TV is different than playing a purpose-built console game on a TV then yeah, sure.
Please.
HYPEFrom Pokemon's site, they're calling it "Big News", and added to visit Pokemon.com for coverage on said news after the direct. My bets are going to Stars for Switch!
They announced Splatoon 11 months in advance and Mario Maker 18 monthsWith the exception of Zelda and their panic 2013 Direct, I think this has been their modus operandi for some time.
But why though? They spent years creating high quality models for X/Y and Sun/Moon so they could be used on a new platform and Gamefreak said they are working with the Switch
The original games are amazing RPGs in their own right. They were just a lil broken is all.I know it's sarcasm, but the concept was definitely cool back in the day and drew people in, and when it was all we had, it was great.
Now it's been far and away outdone, even by it's sequel, and is shown how many gaping flaws it has.
I think some of the more modern gens have pretty good designs, but I agree that the best designs are Gen 1 and 2, but I don't think the other gens should be counted out.
Why would anyone think that stars would be for Switch? No reason to put it in switch.
When nextgen pokemon debutes it Will be in switch and not a day before

Ekans in Smash.
But first....
Lets talk about ARMS
They announced Splatoon 11 months in advance and Mario Maker 18 months
Stars is going to be a Sun/Moon port, no redone assets - simply rendered in HD. It will probably have new content ala Pokemon Crystal/Emerald/Platinum.
Simultaneous hype and disappointment from fans who are thinking full ground-up HD Pokemon for no reason.
