Let me start by posting the ones I listen to in order of awesomeness.

1upYours: Entertaining rountable discussion with a variety of opinions. Good chemistry, mature discussion, juicy info at times. Very funny to hear Luke rant off like a screaming queen. http://1upyours.1up.com

CAG Cast: CheapyD in Japan and Wombat in NY. Great chemistry together and good humor, they stick to console gaming and make it very entertaining. http://www.cheapassgamer.com

GamingSteve: Serious game discussion with good guests, Steve works hard at giving listeners the info on PC and console news. His podcasts get very long which can be good or bad. He can get a little full of himself though at times (which can be amusing) http://www.gamingsteve.com

PC Gamer podcast: PC centric, a little WOW heavy but they're worth a listen. They can get a little too much into the legislative news though which can be very dull. http://www.pcgamerpodcast.com

VGN News: I just started listening to them again. They're OK. Not as good chemistry as the other groups and the last ep I was listening to got way off topic for waaay too long. I'll keep trying them out though and hope I like 'em better. http://gaming-news.info/modules/news/

We basically sit around a bar, drink a lot, and talk about the weekly video game news. We have reviews, a mailbag, interviews, etc. We just did a live show from the Midwest Gaming Classic, interviewed Martin Alessi and Trickman Terry from the old EGM days, and had a bunch of other stuff. Oh...and we interviewed the GameLife guys a while back. Be a kind soul and give it a listen.

Hosted by a guy named MC Wilson. He has a few other folks come on with him as well, but he pretty much runs the show. He's got great insight and does a good job of providing info.

Beyond that, I don't really listen to many.

QTF or whatever the hell you young whipersnappers do these days, can't you type a simple "Yeah, I agree, Steve is really neat" or "I concur, Oni Jizzar"?

Oh, Penny Arcade has ones where you can listen on their writing process, if you like the comic there are some hilarious annecdotes, and you realise that Gabe is the one that actually comes up with the ideas, and Tycho pulls it together with his writing talents.
They also chat about games and stuff, but the funny thing is is that its fly on the wall, and I think they mentioned it was a podcast once, and never talked directly to the audience.

Add this to your RSS feed, aggrogorrila, whatever: http://www.penny-arcade.com/padlc.xml

The CGW podcast.

Some of the early ones are kind of hard to listen to because there are a lot of awkward pauses but they get better with every podcast. I've tried listening to EGM's podcast but there's something about it that grates on my nerves. Maybe a more useful component of this thread would be to list podcast to avoid as well.

4CR, I can't get along with that, too much annoying music and in the roundtables you keep hearing someone try to talk and they get cut off and I can't stand that, I'm like a black guy at a cinema shouting at Winamp. "OH NO YOU DIIN'T JUST CUT HIM OFF!"

Major Nelson's podcast - Although he works for M$, so he's not impartilal his podcast is still a good source of information on Xbox related matters. His show is generally entertaining and because of his position at Microsoft he can get a lot of great inside info and interviews with the top guys there. So, I like it.

I totally agree with a few of them.

1up Yours (awesome podcast, and quite possible the best video game podcast to date.)
-EGM Live (its ok, but that gil, jennifer or whatever her name is has an annoying valley girl voice.)
-GameSpot presents the Hotspot (awesome. jeff rox. too bad bob's gone) -feel the same
-IGN Games Podcast ( deleted, everything is annoying)

They take themselves way to seriously. I can never get though more than 10 mins of it. They need to lock down the cast. But ya in one word: annoying.

1up Yours is probably one anf only podcast I look forward to and the only one i have on my psp and ipod.

GameSpot presents the Hotspot is the second podcast I look forward to but not as much as 1up

EGM Live is ok. kinda meh sometimes.

I also listen to the LOST podcast with jay and jack , but thats not a gaming one.:D

GameSpot, 1UP, Gaming Steve. those are hands downt he best ones i've listened to.

EGM one improved greatly without Jen this week. although it's still worth listening to for Shane and Shoe.

IGN one is not so much getting good, but it seems like they're finally getting into their own.

So, what is it about any of these podcasts that you particularly like in some cases people list things that the podcast does right and wrong, but what do you think it is that makes them better or worse generally?
Do you just listen to them on your computer or do people really dl them to Mp3 players?
Just wondering
<wink!>

Not even a mention of Orange Lounge Radio? Great show, twice-weekly podcast. The call-in people are usually annoying but the rest is good listening.

Also you can pop into their IRC channel while they're recording and participate in the podcast as it's being recorded

Gaarrrghhh...... I had to delist them this week. The gay guy is not bad but I couldn't stand those other whiny bitches and can't-work-phones-for-shit douchetard callers anymore.

My fav podcast is Filmspotting (previously Cinecast) and we need something similar in quality on gaming side.

Demi's podcast Angry Gamer rocks. It's like a mixture of allegedly serious gaming talk and allegedly funny comedy sketches about this stupid games industry of ours. It's like GAF in audio form. And it's only like 15 minutes an episode for everyone with ADHD.

http://www.angry-gamer.net/podcast/mp3.xml is the RSS feed for itunes etc. There's 17 episodes so far. And people saying they like it in threads just encourages more to be made, so it's all your fault!

Besides that, I love the 1up show. How they do it without going absolutely bug ****ing crazy every week is well beyond me.

I second both of these. What I like so much about these two in particular is the humor of TFL, and with Broadcast Gamer, just that general feeling that MC knows his stuff, game-wise. Plus, the guy's got a really soothing voice, heh.

I also think the 1Up Yours podcast is rock solid. What I like so much more about it, I think, is that the editors just come across as less jaded about gaming in general than the Gamespot guys. Maybe that's a misguided assumption because 1Up Yours is more casual, but I rarely hear anyone get excited about anything on the Hotspot.

I've been listening to 1up, and just started listening to EGM and CGW, and they're all really good and informative.

I don't really like the PGC podcast at all. The one two weeks ago they started talking about having Zelda: TP Wii and GC bundled in together and it was just really stupid. One of them was arguing that it was a good idea when it clearly is just bloody stupid. Plus the sound quality of the second guy is horrible - he needs a new Microphone.

What about other Podcasts, Non-Gaming wise? Any suggestions? I've found myself listening to Penn Jilette's radio show via his Podcast [the full show - does any other radio network do this?]. It's over at: penn.freefm.com - I'd love some other recommendations.

Yeah, good info to have. Sucks I don't have anything at work to stream it to, but once I get home I'll put these on my PSP or something.
