How the hell did this Huntsman Movie get Green lit? I didn't hate the first one, save for the fact that Kristen Stewart is "fairer" than Charlize Theron, the movie wasn't ass. But a sequel?
What do you mean? There's really only the one standard, especially for the purposes of this thread: Financially.
Lots of shitty movies make tons of money. They're not bombs because they're bad. They're not bombs at all.
A bomb is a film that doesn't get close to its listed production budget back.
Well this is the same studio that gave Bryan Singer $195 million to make Jack the Giant Slayer...
Would you not argue that Pacific Rim, that did not financially bomb, was still considered a "vom"
We're talking about the fanbase however, not the general public. Warcraft will have to rely on mainstream audiences to succeed in the box office, and I simply don't see that happening unless there's a sudden turnaround right before release.Warcraft was huge before WoW ever hit anyway , and the story is from Warcraft 1 which will be like a foreign concept to WoW only fans. People need to accept the Warcraftverse just translated well from RTS to MMO and the characters , design and voicework were popular for over 20 years. A movies is not a surprise, people wanted one (CGI movie that is) ever since WC3.

Tarzan. If you think Pan was a big bomb, this will be on another level. Gods of Egypt is a good runner up though.

That Egyptian Gods movie.

Either Gods of Egypt or God's Not Dead 2. The first one was a flash in a pan kind of movie and I don't think God's Not Dead 2: Electric Boogaloo will do half as well.

Anyone thinking Assassin's Creed will be delayed to somewhere in January-March 2017? I can see releasing a week after Star Wars: Rogue One biting them in the ass.
Batman v Superman
The first one made $396m on a $170m budget. So with Hollywood logic there's still some money to squeeze out of the franchise.
The issue with Pacific Rim is that it made only a $100 million domestic, with the rest of its gross coming from international markets. I'm not sure about the marketing budget, but I believe Pacific Rim barely broke even, and it had China to thank for it.Which is odd because Pac Rim made 411M on a 190M budget. Seem's about the same to me?
This has flop written all over it. Maybe if it had come out a few years ago when WoW wasn't bleeding subscribers.
Also, holy shit they are still making Underworld movies. The world will never get tired of Kate Beckinsale in tight black leather.
Assassin's Creed - Comes out a week after Star Wars and has a $150-200m budget
Resident Evil too.

I think both Resident Evil and Underworld are too low budget to ever qualify as biggest bombs. Even though they aren't super successful/less people seethem, they still make a healthy profit since their budget is low.
They are launching that Tarzan movie the week after Independence Day 2. I imagine that is enough to guarantee it fails.

Don't underestimate the religious fanatics with that second one.
If Tarzan is good, it can survive the 2nd week of Independence Day 2 and make a run all throughout July. I'm thinking Tarzan will be fine, the trailer was really good.
Gods of Egypt is the easy choice.
cloverfield 2 is on the list of future bombs IMO. Too niche.
I'm predicting ID4-2 to be the Jurassic World of 2016, so I very much doubt Tarzen 2 can survive even if it gets critical praise/WoM.

There's going to be a 180 million dollar Tarzan film while Pacific Rim 2 struggles to be greenlit?
Hollywood really confuses me sometimes.
What a fascinating insight into how Hollywood works...Pacific Rim was not a really good movie.
I'm surprised people aren't mentioning The BFG. It's competing with Ninja Turtles 2, Finding Dory, and Ice Age. 130 million to make.

True and I'm pretty sure they spent a ton on marketing Pac Rim.
Whilst Disney has had their fair share of bombs, I don't see this being one of them. Disney knows how to handle and market properties like that.I'm surprised people aren't mentioning The BFG. It's competing with Ninja Turtles 2, Finding Dory, and Ice Age. 130 million to make.
Doesn't that come out the same day as Xmen Apocalypse?
Thanks to how shit the first one was. Jungle Book will recoup the losses however.
Yeah, Tarzan and that will be fighting for the title.Yup. And in April. Tarzan is July I think.
Edit: Actually I can see the July 2016 on the poster now.
I think it'll comfortably make its money back and then some.I'm surprised people aren't mentioning The BFG.
