PS4 Sharefactory Thread.

Currently rendering something and I will be uploading it. I really like this thing. It's Share button plus.

Also, I am glad the system now tells you when a clip is saved and gives you the options to save the clips when you press the share button, rather than taking it as read that it's saved.

Nothing amazing but I had a play about with this earlier.

Got a claimed song notice on the vid but I acknowledged the third party content and named the artist in the description so I'm hoping that's ok rather than having to remove the song from it. First time I've actually uploaded something to Youtube heh.
Came out quite well although the music is a bit abrupt at the end for some reason, not sure why as it didn't appear to be within ShareFactory itself. Pretty sweet tool though I must admit. Will have to practice with it.

Didn't sleep a wink, up all night exploring and excited,lol...*yawn....and now i've got to get ready and do a two hr drive soon(4hr round trip)..*sigh but needs to be done..
And when i get back this arvo bam....
hitting ShareFactory again!...

..not really, i'll probably pass out when i hit the bed.

Made me first Music Game Vid, and uploading now.

Should be, have the black fade as the starter transition and don't use any of the themed intro clips before it.

Hm, OK, every time I try to add the fade to black transition is keeps adding it inbetween two clips I have and not where the cursor is, and there doesn't seem to be a way to move the transition to the beginning.

Had something magical happen in the Amazing Spider Man 2 today and decided I would try out Sharefactory a little bit to share my reactions first hand...

I noticed a slight typo upon viewing the video on youtube, lets just say I forgot to include "on" at the end of one of the comment subtitles

Here is the raw copy of the video

Wow, they finally managed to capture the feel of Manhattan traffic!

Pretty pissed right now. I ran a whole dungeon in FFXIV with the hopes of making a music video with the footage, and the fucking PS4 didn't save a single second of my playtime. Not even the title screen.

Is this still a problem with games, or is it exclusive to FFXIV? Is there no way to guarantee the system will record while I'm playing? I were to stream it, would it still record the footage for upload/sharefactory purposes?

My 9 year old son had fun with this today. Had 4 minute clips of Infamous and Resogun (with boot up and menu screens lol). He really likes it and is thinking of ideas for future movies.

Pretty slick move for Sony creating a gateway for free advertising.

So what did you do at the end of the dungeon when you wanted to save it?

I just logged out. Isn't the PS4 supposed to save the last 15 minutes automatically? If I was supposed to do something instead, then let me know.

It's finicky when it comes to saving the last 15 minutes of recorded gameplay.

However, if you double tap the share button, a small red recording symbol will appear at the top right and from that point on your gameplay should be recorded up to 15 minutes.

No. It caches the last 15 minutes, not saves it automatically - every launch owner's hard drive would be full by now if it saved automatically. You have to press the Share button in order to save it.

I posted this on another 1.70 thread but thought I would share it here as well in case someone is looking for a way to copy files to and from their PS4. It is a Corsair Voyager Go 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive for $22.50 on Amazon. The nice part about it is the micro USB OTG end that you can plug into your Android device for copying files to and from it.

That Logo looks suspiciously like the Gametrailers logo does it not? Not suggesting any copying just odd.

I don't know how it works either. So if I had an amazing last 15 minutes I double tap to save the recording or hold it to get into the share menu itself?

Here's how you save the past 15 minutes as of the last update:

Once you've done something awesome, bring up the share menu. You will then press square. The last 15 minutes will be saved. For me at least, double tap simply manually starts recording, erasing all of the past cached video. If you see a video recording thing at the top right, you will not be getting the past 15 minutes of video, as it has just been erased to prepare for the new footage you have now manually begun recording.

Nice, thanks.

Any idea why my PS4 took a screenshot while I was browsing screenshots on my hdd? I wasn't pressing the share button at the time. It just happened.

Hmm, not sure. It shouldn't randomly happen, but I guess it can. I know I've accidentally hit it once or twice without meaning too. Especially if I've been playing Xbox or PS3 recently and am used to it being select haha.

Wish I had known this earlier. :(

I'm going to have a lot of fun with this.

I can edit a video of me playing Battlefield, have Yakety yak playing over it, and sporadicity start singing the lyrics.
Nextgen is here.

testing Sharefactory with FIFA14 clip, editing pretty barebones but will try to do something with it

I think this shit is going to be expanded over time once Sony see's how kick ass some of these user created media shares are going to be. I mean the fifa example above already is giving me ideas what to do with NBA2k14 and upcoming MLB The Show .....hopefully we'll see Sony add more features to this over time and hopefully this catches on like wild fire on various social media outlets.

This stuff is cool to tinker with because lets face it...there are those moments of "awe" and moments of "Yes i accomplished this!!" and we want to share them online with some style!! and Sony answered this with this kick ass feature!

I have not even installed it yet but i will eventually once i get some time to play around with it.

If you haven't figured it out by now. You need to set the transition to the clip BEFORE the actual transition. Not in the exact spot you want it. Weird, I know, but you'll get use to it quickly.
