Customers with a delivery address in Germany, up to and including the 5th August 2013 have pre-ordered, the PS4 will receive on the release date. Pre-orders that between the 6th August 2013 and 30 September, 2013 is to be delivered as soon as possible depending on availability before Christmas.
Amazon Germany - Google Translate link

PS4 ranks 5th place in the charts, Killzone SF + 2nd DS4 + camera bundle ranks 4th place, Driveclub bundle ranks 42nd place.

Xbone ranks 87th place, CoD Ghosts bundle ranks 133rd place. Interestingly, Amazon still guarantees shipment of all Xbone orders for launch date.

Thats exactly what it saw today at Gamestop in Germany. They had a poster from the PS4 where they wrote, that preorder after the 30th September will get their PS4 in January 2014. Forgot to take a picture :/

As I said in another thread, the same thing just happened in France with Micromania (the french GameStop) now saying they wont deliver PS4 before the end of january.

It's the same in GameMania in Belgium (largest game store of benelux). Orders after 07/08 are not guaranteed to receive one in 2013. Orders between 24/06 and 07/08 will get it in December. Everything before 24/06 is guaranteed on launch.

Yep, same for Holland too.

Media Markt is one of the biggest retail markets for consoles and other home entertainment products in germany. They were advertising the pre-orders to get a PS4 before christmas eve.
Now, they lifted this date as well!

You're just looking at the current bestsellers, more interesting are the full year numbers where PS4 is second only beaten by obviously GTA V.

On Canadian Amazon the PS4 beats Grand Theft Auto 5.

Also, the Ouya beats Xbox One.
The rankings are weighted I believe, presumably by price. A more expensive item could sell fewer units than a cheaper item, but still rank ahead of it. I don't know exactly how it works, but it's usually something along those lines.

Even in the current gen the PS3 has a great lead over the 360. And the way it looks now the PS4 is going to destroy Xbone One. I hardly know people who own a 360 (which is pretty bad for me owning one) and I know nobody who will buy one (including me)

FNAC, who is a big retailer in here (Portugal) have this info in their Stores and one the Website:

It means that they can't guarantee a release day for your PS4 if you pre-ordered after August 13th. That's really interesting to be honest. I wonder how other retailers will manage this. They still take pre-orders but not for the release day and they do not guarantee it will be in time for the Holidays for those "late" pre-orders.

GAME (or should I say "New Game" since they changed the name's Company are still taking pre-orders without providing any info for the consumer. I can see many people who pre-ordered and they think they will secure a PS4 day one getting left out (many people do not follow Gaming related news so they just pre order and then believe they can go to the store next day and they will have lot's of PS4's around).

True but a little unfair to the Xbone since it was broken up in Day One and standard edition. So the yearly ranking doesn't give you the whole picture either.

I've had one preordered at Amazon Germany for a couple of months now and am guaranteed to get one on launch day. Problem is that there are no games I'm interest in until Infamous and FFXIV in February. Amazon gave me a free copy of Drive Club with my PS4 preorder because I preordered early. But I don't care for racing games so that won't help either.

Ugh, now I don't know whether to cancel or not...

I thinks its actually based on units sold, not value sold.

Though, if you are correct, it would make things even worse for the bone since iit costs more than anything else on amazons video game list. So that would mean canadians love them some ouya, since it would mean they have to buy it at a 5:1 clip to equal xbone revenue.

Yeah playstation is the common choice in Germany, so after MS screwed all the Reputation of the xbox brand, this is not really a surprise.

I'm not really sure I trust Amazon much about how or when they get their shipments. In early August when the Chromecast released and was sold out everywhere Amazon said it wouldn't be back in stock until the beginning of October... 2 weeks ago it was in stock and shipping within 1-2 days.

Sony making all the right moves, unprecedented pre-orders, and a generation that went on forever, would make for very good sales. MS blunders don't hurt either.

I'm having trouble finding where to pre-order one in the US here, as well.

Launch day is not looking good for me :lol
Looks like I missed the bus...
Keep it positive, I hope you can find one fellow GAFfer.

I wonder if many Stores are going to sell them even if you don't have a Pre-order and will do a "first come, first served" even if they are selling pre-ordered units. If you find one of those Stores try to get in there early, we all know how terrible some retailers are with pre-ordering and giving priority to customers.

Hmm, so on the one side we have Fergal Gara, general manager of SCE UK, telling MCV and others that there will be no problem getting a PS4 in the run up to Christmas in the UK, and on the other a bunch of continental retailers have just said they are done until January.

Sony are playing to win this time.
