2 and Segac East still as slow and heavy handed as possible in regards to bringing stuff to our side... just forget about buying the western release -_-
Dream on. Free to play with cash shop. IE psu and psp2 dlc.animlboogy said:Free to play MMO?
No. I'm not going to let bad thoughts ruin this. I've been waiting for this announcement for like a third of my life.

Like I said, cash shop. And I imagine PS3 considering how big their fanbase was for PSU on PS2.Lafiel said:I wonder if there's a possibly of the game not requiring a subscription fee.

Really a PC capable of running this will likely be very inexpensive.Gravijah said:BETTER NOT BE PC ONLY

Nirolak said:If it's PC only we can help you design one that will run it for as little as possible.
Gravijah said:and 360, since 360 is the successor to the xbox which was the successor to the DC! ;p
I'd be really surprised if they didn't support gamepads for the game.Gravijah said:PSO without controller based gameplay=meeeeeeeeh.
Lord knows I'll need one for Diablo III, so I'll live if this does end up being PC only!
Upsidedown Fuji said:Bring back MAGs please!!!!
Oh man, awesome news! I can't wait to jump back into PSO!
They're really absolutely unnecessary mechanic wiseGravijah said:Mags are awesome, but then again -points to Tamagotchi collection-
This I can agree with whole-heartedly. It's something that was a good idea in theory, but in practice it just means spending an hour with an online name-checking tool making sure you can come up with a character name that gets you the drops appropriate for you character and doesn't make you sound like an illiterate dick.kiryogi said:No to section IDs too.

kyo_daikun said:Can't beleive I was asleep when this was announced, I feel ashamed!
I know its going to be amazing, SEGA can't possibly fuck this up, expand everything that was awesome about PSO, do not mention PSU or try to port over any of its features, final result is the best game of 2011.
ZoddGutts said:Hopefully they won't fuck this up like they did with PSU. Make this more like PSP2 and I'm sold.
kiryogi said:Are you kidding? The combat in PSU is evolved beyond and is awesome.
kyo_daikun said:No it "evolved" into just another MMO that was not fun to play whatsoever, not getting into it again (I know you dont like PSO from your posts in other phantasy star threads), nearly everyone I played PSO with back on the DC and Gamecube hated PSU and didnt play it for more than a week.
People seem to want a genuine sequel to PSO which was a console game. Adding PC-like gameplay wouldn't be true to PSO's roots. Unless the game has high system requirements a console version should be a no brainer.Tim-E said:Actually it would probably be a genuinely better game if it was designed specifically for PC.
kiryogi said:I don't get it. Are you not playing PSP2? I could swear I see you posting in there. And it's not that I don't like PSO. I loved it in the day. I just moved on and accepted evolution and change unlike you rosetinted glasses folk.
Honestly designing it for PC is the way to go from this point on if we want to avoid past console restrictions like on the disk content. Well, not that it matters as much nowadays with consoles already having HDDs. But that was a pretty major point with how PSO and PSU were designed.Mastperf said:People seem to want a genuine sequel to PSO which was a console game. Gravijah said:I like PSP and plan on picking it up once a "definitive" version is released, it's just I'd rather they work on the PSO base and evolve from there. We have tons of PSP games already. It's not like we're starving for those.
