PSP Wlan problem

Kingsora

Would rather have no penis than have to show his to a medical professional
So today my Wlan on my PSP died, the Wlan is still there, but every time I want to use the internet with my PSP it says the Wlan switch on the PSP is not turned on (but the Wlan is turned on).

Anyhow can I fix this without sending it back to Sony? I'm guessing it's something internal and there has to b a contact switched on, but does someone have any ideas how to do that?

Because I want to acces the PSP Store :(

Sounds like your PSP is just dirty inside, just run it though the dishwasher once, and it should fix it

don't do this
I wasn't planning to do that :P

Have you dropped it recently? when was the last time it worked right?

Try fidgiting with the switch... turn the switch off and on several times, does holding in the up position make a difference? Call sony if nothing works?

No, I didn't dropped it recently. About a week ago, it just stopped working after my little sister was playing on it (no she didn't dropped it either), two days later it suddenly worked back and yesterday it stopped working again.

I already tried holding it on for a longer time and switch several times, but nothing works :(

I had the same problem recently. Tried to fix it thinking there was a problem with the switch itself, but I broke the whole PSP after opening it.

So, you broke your PSP because the WLan switch didn't worked anymore?

That's not really helping me :( :( :(

My point was that you shouldn't try fixing it yourself. lol
But sending it back to Sony is 80 euros for me and that isn't really an option

I want to thank you for this thread. I can't help you, but some time last year, the same thing happened to my PSP. The WLAN simply stopped working. After seeing this thread I decided to check out my PSP to see if I could fix the problem. Suddenly the WLAN is working again! Now I'm downloading the lastest update. :D

the same thing happened to me
try to remove the battery & reinitialize your psp, it works for me

That might have been what happened here. The battery ran flat several times over the past year since my PSP doesn't get much use. Eventually it must have reinitialized everything. :o

So I just have to remove my battery and put it back in???

Lol it Worked :D :D :D

Thx Tiberius ^^

Now be aware a friend of mine has the same exact problem with his. We were playing Monster Hunter Freedom 2 a couple months ago and he suddenly got disconnected from a game. After fiddling around with his PSP (i.e. doing everything but take it apart) I took the battery out and the WLAN light came back on. It worked up until about 3 weeks ago when we were getting ready to start a hunt his light went off again, and this time there was nothing we could do to fix it. I have a feeling that the WLAN card or antenna is somehow bad in the first year PSPs or something, because a quick Google search will come up with a lot of results on this and no fixes other than the battery trick. I have a feeling the card needs to be replaced, however it's the deepest component when taking the PSP apart and you literally have to take the whole system apart. I'm pretty skilled with electronics, but this task is just too much, I don't want to forget how to put everything back together :lol

I had this problem and like Duckroll mine's been lying unused for a while now, might try to see if it's working in a while. What do you mean by "reinitialize" though? Turn it on?
