Truth be told they are a mix of guessing and survey data. They don’t Have complete access. The truth is there are ZERO verifiable console sales for XSX unless it comes from MS directly or if the manufacturer would release how many consoles they have produced so farIs this verified or another random guess outlet posing as an insider source?
Because they could probably sell 20M with proper supply.
we may never knowI don't believe PS5 sold over 2:1 XSX/xss.
Why wouldn't you believe it?I don't believe PS5 sold over 2:1 XSX/xss.
Well portables are a big thing.Switch:
I wouldnt bet on it, but I’ve been following the PS5 and Series X subreddits to get an inclination of it and it pretty much checks out. Mind that the subreddit is Series X, but i would assume Series S owners probably still join it. Not very scientific bit here goes:I don't believe PS5 sold over 2:1 XSX/xss.
Xbox added 3 million gamepass subscribers. Thats the more relevant number for them. Their console sales numbers are becoming less and less of a relevant metric for them as a company.
Yup, it's like this across all social media. Playstation by far gets more traffic than Xbox. It's not even close.I wouldnt bet on it, but I’ve been following the PS5 and Series X subreddits to get an inclination of it and it pretty much checks out. We can quibble about the semantics of the statement but console unit sales are not the primary metric for success for MS. Is it better to sell more than less? Of course but does the success of the brand hinge on how many Xboxes get sold? Not at all. MS is clearly more focused on their subscription services and getting those subs on as many platforms as possible. At this point they are succeeding at their intended goal. Why do people keep saying this lie?

MS has claimed 18-20 million GP subscribers, and obviously there would be more subscribers on old gen than on new gen. The continued success of the brand most certainly depends on how many new gen Xbox's get sold going forward. If they can't migrate customers to new gen tech, then new gen customers will not be happy down the road when the old gen keeps driving the subscription bus.We can quibble about the semantics of the statement but console unit sales are not the primary metric for success for MS. Why do you think so especially in an era where getting the new console isn't very easy. If they focus on getting Game pass on PC, mobile phones, smart TVs, AND their console wouldn't that have a better chance of success for them over just selling consoles? Everyone has to understand that MS isn't playing the same game as Sony where Sony's success is predominately focused on moving PS5s.I'd say it's honestly a secondary goal of theirs for the moment. Their main goal needs to be and probably is selling as many Xbox Series consoles as possible. It "should" be their main goal at least.
Where does the PC fit in your premise? How can old gen drive the subscription bus when PC will always get new games from MS going forward. At some point the old gen will stop getting support but MS has been pushing generation blending; again this is different than Sony's philosophy. MS wants to make as many of their customers happy. Phil himself stated people didn't have to rush out and buy the new Xbox if they didn't want to. Heck you don't need the new Xbox at all to play MS games.MS has claimed 18-20 million GP subscribers, and obviously there would be more subscribers on old gen than on new gen. You're in for a ride then.I don't believe PS5 sold over 2:1 XSX/xss.
Why is that? You're in for a ride then.

I don't understand your question at all. I know GP has a PC component, and I'm not dismissing anything about it.Where does the PC fit in your premise? Those are awful numbers for Sony and MS if true. Series numbers in particular are a disaster. Not that there’s much they can do about it.
