Radeon RX 5600 XT

This is the first post where we mention the Radeon RX 5600 series. We have confirmed that at least two board partners are working on Radeon RX 5600 XT. The new Radeon would feature GDDR6 memory, which basically means that the full Radeon 5000 series lineup will stick to newer memory technology. This would be an advantage over Geforce GTX 16 series, which also features GDDR5-based models.

The information on Radeon RX 5600 series is limited, but we do know it has 6GB GDDR6 memory (most likely paired with 192-bit bus). It is, however, too early to speculate on the GPU variant that this card might use.

We have been told that Radeon RX 5600 XT is expected to launch early next year (possibly in January).

Radeon RX 5500 XT

Meanwhile, Radeon RX 5500 XT will be available in two variants: 4GB and 8GB. So far we have been unable to confirm the non-XT variant coming to board partners. In other words, the 5500 non-XT might end up as an OEM-exclusive, while the XT should only be available through AMD board partners.

The Radeon RX 5500 XT is expected to launch next week. We are in the process of confirming the exact specs and pricing.

As I've said before, I wish AMD would have the 5600 and even the 5800 series ready for December, but at least we are getting the 5500 series before Christmas which is the GPU bracket most people buy for the holidays……...The 5500 series should outpace the GTX 1650 series and the 5600 series should outpace the 1660 series including Vega 56 quite easily...…...

For those wondering about the 6GB of Vram, rest assured there will be an 8Gb variant...…...The 5600 series lends itself well for a bit more performance in the mobile sector..... 6Gb should be great for laptops cafe's and OEM's.......

No word of the 5800 series, even though that was rumored for Q1 2020. Maybe it'll arrive in March then.

Still, it's a good thing that they're tackling the more mainstream prices. Even though their 500 Polaris cards were doing ok, they are definitely losing steam now. Particularly after nVidia released yet more cards in those lower price segments.

Well these NV cards will be short lived...….RX 570 waxed the 1650, 1050ti and even the 1060-3GB on many games, it was the price to perf king for two years...…….Still at this moment, the 570 is still a very good card as you can get one for $100-120 new and you can get it used for $50-80......

The 5500 series is supposed to replace the Polaris lineup in 1 week, so the 1650S will only have the crown for two weeks......5500 series, should be faster than any 1650 card, the entire Polaris lineup and even edging on the 1660 entry cards.....For a glimpse of how 1650S stacks up against the RX 570 right now, it's not too far ahead of 570 at all...
