Just came back from watching the premiere an hour ago with a group of the boys, and I enjoyed the hell out of the movie, wow.
Reading through the thread, I found it strange that so many of you couldn't understand Bane - in fact, in my IMAX theater his voice was standing out loud and clear in most of his scenes, and when it wasn't, I still understood every single line clearly.
The movie was really put together very well from beginning to end - Alfred knowing that Bruce wasn't sharp, Bruce in denial the whole time even though he still got pick-pocketed by Catwoman when he knew what she was capable of, her disappearing on him, until Bane shattered his fantasy literally, by showing that he was out of it after staying quiet for eight long years.
And Bane? What a boss. Nolan and Hardy really made him into something else, and I loved him. The accent really took off in this movie, in the trailers I just accepted it, but he really pulled it off with that swagger and all.
I also liked that every twist in the movie was preluded by an obvious hint so it didn't just seem like some movie magic twist, like the scar on Thalia's back, me seeing that it was Hardy's figure and build getting the kid, to the wall to climb out, and how Batman survived at the end due to the autopilot being fixed by Bruce himself.
The first Bane fight was just brutally good - the weakness of being out of the game for eight years made it so one-sided, Batman just got straight-up wrecked. You knew he was thinking, "Alfred was right" as he was lying there. I also liked that Bruce getting better and stronger wasn't rushed, and that Gotham wasn't magically saved the next day, and that the key to getting out wasn't a cop out, it was just as how the one other person got out of the prison, and it made perfect sense - build the fear of falling to your death by getting rid of the safety of the rope.
Joker not being mentioned at all, I see it as out of respect for not getting a "cheap pop" to use wrestling fan terms, even if it was for one sentence, to not piggyback on him to play up fans. I liked that.
Also loved the unexpected return of Scarecrow - pretty nice to be in all three movies like that.
JGL's name being Robin is just a wink to fans, because it could be anything, anything at all - even if it's him just having access to an amazing network of resources.
So much more I wanna talk about, but all in all, I loved the movie.
Gonna run through the pages in here to see what people were posting.
