Oh my goodness. That's horrifying and adorable.

Albert, I just want to say, you're a god damn hero.
Welcome to GAF.
Gaming's first archeologist and treasure hunter everyone!
Don't worry! The entire project is picky
That's because the model was much more "spiky" and the vertices were originally unwelded. Both things generate harder shadows.
I can try to get again more contrasted shadows by unwelding some vertices.
Weld/unwelding vertices in the 3D editor is a nice trick we learned during this project and it makes a big difference sometimes!
Sorry if I wrote in a weird way sometimes. English is not my native language![]()
Sorry, Which is the code to make the pictures smaller?![]()
Just release it already... I want to play it again![]()
The project isn't done yet. They're getting close tho.
^The floor photography was well worth it, looks perfect. I agree that that particular room was always a highlight, it's nice to see that it's been enhanced so well. I really like how much clearer the shadowplay on the ground is now.

Did...did he actually find that exact same floor, take a pic and turn that into a new texture?

Yes, and he's been doing that for like almost everything.
Albert, you're a madman and I love you.
Hi! I'm posting some images of my recent work
Remember they are work in progress.

I was able to find some of the original textures because Capcom came to Europe in 2000 (aprox.) and one of the places they visited was my city, Barcelona.
Not just in RE4, you can find textures from their trip to Spain and Wales in REmake, Devil May Cry and Haunting Gruond games. Even in REvelations 2 there are still some remaining textures from those pictures they took so may years ago.
And... how I was able to found them? Well... this is hard to explain.
I've been working on this game's textures since the first PC port was released.
I recognized by chance one door (or window, or wall... I can't remember) while searching in Google for good resolution pictures to use as a replacement in the game. (by that time I was looking for similar textures, not the same). And then I saw something and I thought: "hey, that door... is almost identical to the one in the game... no wait... it's the same door!!"
Then I pulled the thread and I found some other textures in the Internet in the same location/building.
It was a city in Spain. And the architectonical style of lots of textures used in the game looked familiar to me. So, I guessed lots of them should come from Spain, too.
As time went by, I was able to locate most of the locations Capcom visited during their trip (in Spain and in UK) I went to those cities and I took pictures of the same things.
And yes, I took several pictures and then I put together all the pieces![]()

I would seriously watch a documentary about someone going to the actual locations to remake the assets of a video game (and a super famous and critically acclaimed one at that) as authentically as possible.
I can't express how much I wish some friend had followed you with a camera. The story itself is inherently docu material.
Dude, you're going to be a legend when this project is finished.Thank you everyone for your comments

Wow seriously? That is some crazy dedication for a free mod. Kudos man.
Just out of curiosity are you a texture artist professionally or is this just a hobby?
