So basically 1.9x jump over 3080.

What about the 4080? 2080 to 3080 was roughly 1.8-2x.

I saw 4080 in the thread title and was a bit confused.

same.

I want to get a 4090, but building a whole rig around it, even for work I think is just over kill, so I think I'll just settle for a 3080 or 3090 if I can find one used..

Headlines like that are the reason why Nvidia keeps getting away with these things. As long as you get your fancy performance boost, who cares what the power and cost are, right?

Surprisingly, power consumption is not that bad. It's pretty much the same as previous gen top end GPUs.

And temperatures are decent, even for an FE card.

Honestly, I rather wait until they can build something smaller and more practical electricity-wise, I don't need RTX up the ass in every corner, I don't need to play in 16K with ultrawide monitors.

It's too ahead of its time. What a hell do you need this for now anyway? are you gonna play Cyberpunk on 6 different 4K monitors at the same time?

That is a generational jump. The transient spikes and cooler design thermals actually seem spot on based on the GN review. Seems like Nvidia actually delivered and they have never said that about any of the players when it comes to those metrics.

With 12900k it's cpu limited. What is happening? What combo is needed for latest games.dlss 3 is a monster👹👹.

Does anyone have a review where they use the more power hungry CPU's? I'm interested to see total system draw with a 5900x or more on Intel's side as well.

A 3080 is more than enough for most things. At 1440p you'll have no issues for years I reckon.

That's crazy to see the GTA5 bench run at the max fps (185) for the first time. Pretty consistent and the only care to do that so far.

Super impressive. I'm only at 1440p for my monitor so my 3080 will be just fine for a while but this is impressive.

Edit: My guy Jay
