I'm toying with the idea of buying a build with a 4090 in it. Technically I haven't upgraded since 2015, so I'm well overdue for an update, what do you guys make of this build?:

I will swap the case for something better, otherwise I like the specs, perfect for 4k at 120hz. I'll have my company purchase it so it can write off the tax

Its only happening because the 4090 is cannabilising sales of the 4080.

Pretty sure that by the time the 50xx class launches in Q4 2024, The 4080 will have ended up being the worst performing 80 class card in Nvidia's history, only a drop to a $999 MSRP and then a launch of the 4080Ti at $1199, can save it from such ignominy.

Bring on the March Price cut to both "4080s" and seriously release the 4080'20G at what the 4080 is currently priced at......that would basically solve all my issues with upgrading right now.
Im not fully sold on the 4080 at its price....and im not spending 4090 money on a frikken GPU.

But their tactic has worked....people are seemingly lapping up the 4090.

Edit: 3090 entered in the same time frame with 0.23% for reference. Of course the number of people in the survey grows every time they release it, so the 0.24 this time around represents more GPUs than in 2021.

Nvidia had a reason to push out the 3090ti when amd challenged the (raster) performance crown with the 6900xt/6950xt.
Right now there is no challenger to the 4090, so there's not really a reason for nvidia to push out a 4090ti variant.
