All I'm curious to know, regarding the number of teraflops in next-gen consoles, is how it will impact advanced physics, rendering and AI? Will we see more games where the player character and NPCs react realistically to their environment or pieces of clothing that wrinkle and deform as opposed to looking like it was grafted onto their skin?
I mean, most of the advancements in game graphics in the past decade look like a step sideways instead of forwards. Real-time dedicated ray-tracing is a step in the right direction at least. Cube mapping always looked unrealistic to me.
