Aw shit, I am so excite.
Also, the day of reckoning for a certain GAFfer draws near.
Even if it did turn out to be StarTropics, I'd still be convinced that he made a lucky guess.

Sure, but why exhume a corpse nobody cares about?
If I had to guess the possible Nintendo IPs I could see getting a "new brand" from Retro would be:
Star Fox (though I don't think fans actually want a re-brand of this)
F-Zero (same as above)
Ice Climber
Takamaru
Star Tropics
Balloon Trip/Fight
Gumshoe
Custom Robo
Mach Rider
Wave Race
Earthbound (unlikely as it has only ever been done by Itoi)
Golden Sun (unlikely as it has only ever been done by Camelot)
Advance Wars (unlikely as it has mostly been done by Intelligent Systems)
How could you forget Doshin the Giant.
But some of us cares about StarTropics =(
Either or, if the series has been gone for a long time it can practically be rebranded from the ground up. It's almost a blank slate without having to do all the ground work.

Do they mention anything about an e3 showing? Because with all the games Nintendo has to cover, I wouldn't be surprised if they left this for a 2014 reveal.

Didn't they hire a bunch of Uncharted and Darksiders people. To me that suggests it won't be a racer but a game that focuses on exploration and elaborate environments which brings us to:
- Metroid
- Star Fox
- Metroid X Star Fox
- New IP
- Zelda Spin off
- Star Tropics
- 3D Donkey Kong game
- Eternal Darkness
The thing is, they have proven they excel at reinventing properties. Its both, exciting to see what they do with them and a proven formula that has seen much success. I don't know if I would mess with it.I understand that some people have fond memories of it, but I would think if given the choice Retro would make a new IP. Then you aren't in any way handicapped by the conventions and lore of the previous games.
I'm not against Star Tropics as much as I'm for something brand new.

Yeah, the meltdowns are going to be terrible. No matter what it is, some people are going to be annoyed/disappointed and if it's even the least bit stylized or cartoon-y, there'll be meltdowns.
So, I'm going to put money down for a Devil World re-boot.
Hahaha, I know, I know. Just trying to be realistic here to avoid major meltdown. You shut your whore mouth.
Bayonetta 2 , SMT VS FE, and mario might suffice. Lets be realistic.Well they have to show something new, dont they? They already blew most of their load in January and the new thing they have left to show is this, the mario trio and some crazy moneyhat that will amount to lots of articles and littles sales.

We love you. Cheer up. I have a strong feeling wii u will shine this e3. Retro or no retro. This won't be e3 2012 again. I can FEEL it.I told people that Retro's game would be at last E3 and even specified I was 99% sure about it, I am bitter and rude and angry and not fun to be around since.
I really doubt the Wii U can survive another year without it
Wii U's life or death isn't going to be saved/finished by Retro's game.

Just releasing a bunch of Mario family titles is going to look really bad

Hi everyone..it's been..quite an interesting week for me, to say the very absolute least! I'm still standing 100 percent by what I wrote. Could I elaborate on everything? Absolutely. But, the wisest choice may be to not say very much more than I already have. Believe me, I've been wanting to participate and answer questions. It's taking everything in me not to, I know this is a massive risk for me, but I'm confident on the 11th ill be vindicated.
So, I have been very careful on my posting this last week and will have to continue to be for the next 13 days. Needless to say this has been the most eventful week I have had in quite some time.
Lastly, I wanted to comment real quick on the whole Prophet nickname thing. I'm not mad at that at all, it got a sincere and honest chuckle out of me. Prophet Claus would have been funnier still. But, you guys did good ill give you credit for that![]()
My dream game for retro right now would be dkcr2. Then they can go on to do whatever the fuck they want.As much as I loved the Prime games and Metroid in general and wouldn't mind them making another one, how dare Audrey Drake say they shouldn't make a new IP.
That would be my first choice, my second Metroid and my third Donkey Kong Country Returns 2.
Anything but the inevitable Star Fox!!!

They're also releasing a new IP no one will buy (Wonderful 101) an old niche IP no one will buy (Pikmin 3) and a Zelda remake.
No matter how it looks the Zelda remake and the Mario games (plus maybe Sonic too) will probably carry the system this holiday.
