[Rumor] Too Human 2 is coming...

Picked up a used copy for $1.99. Still need to play it though..

I know port requests in (official?) announcement threads are bannable; since this is none, I hope I am spared the wrath of Thor's the mod's hammer.

I hope the sequel goes multiplatform. As a ps3 owner, I haven't had a good LnL (loot 'n level-up) game since Sacred 2. I wouldn't mind getting a taste of Too Human.

Make sure you follow Dungeon Siege III. Its multiplatform. I don't think Too Human is going multi, its like the Mass Effect situation.

If Too Human really sucked as badly as everyone says, I'd rather see him just admit defeat and try something new. Maybe learn from that and then do Two Human.

I wouldn't mind a sequel, but I won't be paying full price for one.

I bought Too Human for $5 a couple months ago and beat it last month in about 12 hours. While not the best game I have ever played, it was certainly not the worst either. I enjoyed leveling up my guy and finding new loot enough to have justified my five bucks.

However, I have no idea what happened in the story because I played the game with the audio off and skipped all of the cutscenes.

Against.

I didn't even beat the demo...the game was horrible - ugly graphics, using the right analog stick for melee attacks was just plain stupid, bad animations and a camera that sucked.

Oh I would be so happy if this was true. Although I'm still annoyed that I lost my original save file for Too Human. That's 80 hours I'm never getting back.

I don't usually post this shit but it seems like an appropriate time:

Whatever bros! I like Too Human. It frustrated the hell out of me sometimes, it had a bushel of stupid problems and it looked kind of bad, but I still liked it. Bring on the second!
Unban Dyack!

Oh, thanks! I didn't really enjoy Dungeon Siege since back in the day I was a bioware/black isle fanboy and was really into Baldur's Gate-like CRPGs, so the more "hack n slash" nature of Dungeon Siege kind of put me off at first. These days, however, I'll take my LnL fix from pretty much anything.

I'll keep Dungeon Siege III on my radar then, thanks for the advice! :D

Back on topic: for.

Too Human was a decent console loot game. IF it had actually had 4 player co-op, the classes that were apparently cut, and the planned DLC hadn't vanished, it would have actually been good (but not great).

In a magical universe where they get their shit together, this could be cool. Dyack's piss-poor attitude is really off-putting though, and I've said this before but I feel really bad for the guys at SK who worked on the game, and saw it all completely overshadowed by Dyack's insanity. Hopefully the sequel will be better, and I'm on board.

I'm all for this -- the end of the game actually got pretty interesting ... it's too bad you had to wade through so much crap to get to it. However, I'm open to a sequel.

I'd prefer Eternal Darkness 2, though ...

There is a lot of work to do to make this an elite loot game, but with research and study of other successful loot games, they could do it.

The game had it's problems... many. But the core gameplay felt really, really good, and if they can just deliver a more polished and varied experience it'd be great. Plus i liked the story.

I'd be down for Too Human 2. The impression I got from the first game wasn't that it was being designed by people who outright didn't know what they were doing or how to make a good game. It just seemed like the sort of project where the developers were so in love with the game they were imagining in their head that they didn't bother to take a step back and think about whether the game they were actually making was gelling together as well as they wanted it to. I found the end product was overall pretty damn fun, but there's plenty of weird shit that shouldn't have happened, like the strange-ass relationship between your character's stats and the action-oriented gameplay.

For a sequel, I'd imagine that, if nothing else, the sobering effect of all those reviews of the first game would probably provide the pressure to more properly manage the project. I think it would probably be a genuinely good game without nearly as many caveats.

It was one of those games you really just had to accept, warts and all, if you liked it. Scores of problems but I enjoyed it immensely, and I didn't even play a Berzerker.

Pretty much nails how I feel.

I also liked the story. There just wasn't enough of it, and the disconnect between narrative and gameplay was enormous (unlike in Eternal Darkness...WAY unlike). And although Dyack or whomever will never cop to it, I strongly believe that major content was cut before release. I remember reading how cyberspace was a place you would go to find more lore; in the final game, it's a big empty wasteland with no content whatsoever. Add in the different locations in the hub that exist but are never used outside of cutscenes, and it's clear that Too Human was an unfinished product.

I hope SK gets a chance to redeem itself with a sequel or, hell, even a Director's Cut of the original. If the series goes multiplatform (if it's gonna continue, this has to happen), I think we will see one.

I don't know how it's possible to actually enjoy too human. The combat is fiddly, unintuitive and the moves themselves don't feel powerful enough since some enemies don't even react to them. The game only has four dungeons that all look like crap. The art style is poo and the graphics are almost last-gen xbox. Oh and then there's that beautiful death animation. >_< In the final dungeon you spend almost as much time looking at the death scene as you do playing. It was one of the worst RPG experiences I've ever had. Please let it die.

So, no. Do not want.

I can't believe Canadian tax payers dollars are paying for this.

Come election time I'll vote against.

WHAT? The first was funded by the governement? Bought it for 5$ new during ebgames deals of summer last year. Never played it.

For only if it is a massive improvement.

The game isn't terrible, but it is painfully mediocre. I remember renting the title and I got to the 4th main area and I just quit out of boredom. Not enough attacks, not enough difference in elite drops, not enough variation in level design. It is just a plain game which never excelled in any area.

Anybody that honestly gave the game a fair try KNOWS that a sequel could and should be a REALLY good game.

FOR.

Despite some terrible cutscenes, I am actually interested in seeing the story progress. :lol

If they sort out the previous issues, plus add a whole raft of awesome stuff, they could be the next Borderlands...well, that would be Borderlands 2 but they could have the same success and built on that with more DLC.

Too Human had a lot of issues. Technical issues, graphical issues, bad voice acting, forgettable story...But the concept still has lots of potential. The core gameplay was fun and the universe is interesting. If they can flesh it out better and make improvements across the board, Too Human 2 could be good. The first was enjoyable, just not great as it could have been.

the very vocal minority of GAF made me think everyone here hated Too Human, this thread is encouraging.

nah, that's just because that vocal minority happens to be moderators as well, who really didn't know when it was time to back off and let the consumer decide. Granted, Dyack wasn't exactly backing off either (or even listening, for that matter), but there is an end to reasonable conflict with a particular person before expending that conflict to a bigger effort.
