You know, something only an idiot would use for his/her luggage.

As much as people don't like her for her views or her whore daughter, illegally hacking her personal shit is going too far. Even politicians deserve their privacy.

Wow! Calm down man. Just seems odd that she has a Yahoo account. I doubt there are many elected officials that use Yahoo for their e-mail, and it's not a preference thing, it's a security thing to prevent something just like this from happening. Personal account or not, it just doesn't seem like a great idea to me.
You're the one making a big deal out of someone's free email provider preference.

And you're wrong about elected officials using Yahoo or other free email providers for personal reasons. A lot of low profile officials will use a free account so that there's a clear seperation between their official address and their political one. It's free and hassle free. So she didn't use Google Mail, big whoop.

This is just LOL. This could turn the entire presidential election on its head....and some dude manages to get the account frozen :lol

Not that this is good or anything, but it's hilarious.

I agree
only if there's nothing scandalous to be revealed

She used the account for state business as well to avoid subpoena.

On Feb. 7, Frank Bailey, a high-level aide, wrote to Ms. Palin’s state e-mail address to discuss appointments. Another aide fired back: “Frank, this is not the governor’s personal account.”
Mr. Bailey responded: “Whoops~!”

You're right, in fact the archive of emails /b/ found include several apparently government related emails with subject line along the lines of "FW: CONFIDENTIAL Ethics Matter
" "Court of Appeals Nominations" "Re: DPS Personnel and Budget Issues" and "Draft letter to Governor Schwarzenegger / Container Tax". I didn't mean to imply she didn't use her personal account for official business, I just wanted to point out that some elected officials do have free providers, including Yahoo, and why they would.

As for avoiding the subponea, I'll be interested to see how well that will work out. My guess is that Yahoo would cough up the archive in face of a high-profile subponea like a lung cancer patient. Also, I've read that the Alaska government transparency laws cover all government related emails, regardless of who hosts the email account.

What the fuck is that supposed to mean? Unless you attend Yale or Harvard your educational background is shit? Where did you go?
When someone is running for the highest office in America I like to hold them to high standards, but that is just me.

So i take it 4chan/anonymous have probably hacked bristol's account too.. as her security question is "mother's birthplace" -- wikipedia brings up an easy answer.. all that's required is a correct zip code for their home in alaska, and they're in..

lmao.

Leave it to 4chan to hack even a vice presidential nominee :lol

Her privacy should be respected, even though I hate her with a passion. Troopergate and related issues are fair game, but this kind of shit is going too far.

FBI Spokesman Eric Gonzalez in Anchorage, Alaska confirms to CNN an investigation is underway.

"We are aware of the allegations and we are coordinating with Secret Service as far as the allegation that someone has hacked into Governor Palin's personal e-mail account," he said. "We are going to be working a joint investigation with Secret Service on this."

Brian Hale, an FBI spokesman in Washington, also confirms the FBI has been contacted about the incident. Two federal law enforcement sources say the FBI and Secret Service would have concurrent jurisdiction normally on a matter such as this, but it remains to be seen if the Secret Service will take the lead on the investigation because Palin is a protectee.

For the record, I'm not making a big deal out of her free e-mail preference, it was more to do with the fact that she's using Yahoo at all. I'd be just as surprised if she was using G-mail. I'd think there would be better choice for a public official, even if it is there personal account. But, if as you say, there are a lot of elected officials that do this, then color me surprised. Doesn't seem to be very secure. But oh well, what do I know about the e-mail addresses of public officials, aside from the fact that I'd never advise them to do this.

And to be clear, I also understand that they need a separation between their personal accounts and their work ones. That should go without saying.

Damn, they are going to go to 4chan and go "My God... this is the internet? We need to shut it down NOW!"

Hacking into Sarah Palin's account: zero dollars

Looking at personal emails: zero dollars

Watching the FBI shut down 4chan: priceless.

There are some things money can't buy, for everything else there's retarded script kiddies.

WTF is up with the attacks on this lady? Is she the devil or something?

Uh, yeah. She's a gimmick chosen blindly due to her gender who distorts facts, is hypocritical and ignorant to most things like the Bush Doctrine.

People are only exposing the truth.

Priceless yes, but if 4chan is ever taken down, they will just relocate, gather, and feed on a new set of souls.

Hey, I live in Washington. UW is a very very good school depending on what you're going into. I also live right next to Idaho. The school she went to isn't very good.

4chan isn't a site, it's a community. You can't just shut down a community - it's like the FBI will shut down Islam.

Half of 4chan gets off to child porn. Premature Ejaculation of email spying is the least of their worries.

You've got CP mixed up with furry porn. The ones who wants CP go to 12chan.
