Sharp said:Not quite 1.2 million in five weeks. More like... seven, I think?

tanod said:If they sold at the same pace as November, they'd be at 625,000. I'd put a guess in at 850k PS3 sold on NPD day.
Agent Icebeezy said:If they are releasing this, I need to ask in the prediction thing if we are allowed to revise. I put them for 790k in december. on the ps3.
reilo said:Funny, that's not what GAF was saying in Novembers NPD, and that's especially not what people are predicting in the NPD hardware predictions thread.
Hell. I had numerous arguments with people in various threads who called me crazy for thinking that PS3 sales would double in December.
_leech_ said:So 1.8 million Wii's?

Yeah, the PSP has been somehow brought back to life. It's not trying to be the DS Lite but it's still a damn good handheld on its own. If the PS3 can see that kind of success without eclipsing the Wii I'll still be damn glad.Busty said:The real shock for me however, was the PSP being the best selling member of the PlayStation 'family' this Xmas. Impressive.

MightyHedgehog said:1.2 million in NA over its second holiday and a $100 price drop is pretty terrible, IMO. We'll see how long it does decently elsewhere (some of Europe), but I think the platform is most definitely burnt toast in NA. Absolutely toast.
reilo said:Why revise it? You are most likely in the ballpark figure, I'd reckon.

gofreak said:It probably would be a bit more than that, if NPD and SCEA are on the same level..
To what degree, though, depends..when did the $399 cut come into effect again, what date?
Here is a some spin.f_elz said:another pre npd day press release

beermonkey@tehbias said:In the second December for PS2 in the US, they sold 2.7 million. Figure that PS3 is selling about 1/3 that if they hit around 900,000. That figure would also be slightly worse than Xbox 1 did during it's second December here.
No, but it sure as hell tells us where momentum lays.Concept17 said:Yes because the first year is all that really matter, right?

Why are you doubting Sony's numbers? Do you really think they would have reported them if they weren't confident that they matched NPD's? We know from experience that when Sony doesn't want to reveal numbers it either hides them in percentages or simply doesn't talk about them. That they were willing to give actual figures suggests that they have little doubt in their correctness, and have no reason to distort them. Because, well, they don't.harSon said:As much as I'd like to think they are, they probably aren't....
