Making a thread just to self-promote without explicit mod approval isn't allowed, but throwing up a link to your site when it's topically relevant in a post is fine as long as you aren't obnoxiously spamming it.

So just post it here.

Just barely cheesed my way through the final Katsuragi mission with Mirai with a level up at the nick of time. She just has no answer to fast attackers and even those maids can give me an immense amount of trouble when the synchronize their shots. Actually... what does her strong attack even do?

Here is my rebuttal to the whole "lets take a dump on Senran Kagura" thing.

I mainly just wanted to point out how shallow of an argument it is to be crying for censorship or the failure of certain games, just because they don't fit into your ubiquitous mold of all games appealing to everyone, you know?

That means a lot to me. I feel like I have so much room to improve as a writer, but the goal of my site is to promote, enjoy, and also defend niche games like SK.

Uhhh it's got a lot of life and hometown? If you are a little into visual novels, it isn't that bad; the characters are cute, but their backstory (real back story, like their past) can be surprisingly touching). I don't think you'll get another chance to experience picking up a game with such a cover again, live in that moment and pre-order it!

In other news, finally on the final character to 100% the game.

Just reading the review from WorthPlaying
During the first few levels, you get the feeling that the somewhat invincible state of the shinobi is taken too far. Though the levels are designed like Double Dragon or Streets of Rage in that you can move up and down to simulate depth in the battlefield, you only feel the need to do so when hitting objects and getting items, since your attacks seem to reach enemies on either plane. The enemies never block, and with the exception of a few projectile-wielding foes, they never try to fight back, either. You can inflict plenty of hits and dispatch enemies with ease, so you can level up, and that comes with a full refill on all bars except for clothing. The ease with which you can complete levels and the lack of any depth to the system can make the whole affair seem repetitive after a while, especially with no multiplayer in tow.

Keyword here is 'During the first few levels'. The difficulty picks up later, and you can go Frantic for the added challenge.

There'll still be an element of repetitiveness later, of course : it's a brawler at core.

I downloaded this last night. Gameplay is great. Everything else is fun.

How come the game icon is a cute girl on the eshop, but when I unwrapped the game, it's now an eagle?

The game WILL get harder later on, especially on certain Frantic mode attempts. The first chapter or two will be pretty simple, but the difficulty will start to get higher. Frantic Mode is where the real challenge is since your health is much, much lower.

Nice site, I put it on my Top Sites since I Love niche game news.

I would buy Burst since I love Shinovi Versus but the 3DS doesn't have games that interest me aside from Senran Kagura.... If only Megaman Legends 3 wasn't canceled :(. I Hope that the sales of Burst were enought to convince XSeed that future Senran Kagura games deserve a fisical release.

So I finally got this game after deleting a few things (I really need a larger memory card)...

Chapter 2 is kicking my ass all over the place. I've been getting C ranks and it just makes me want to cry. Is there a suggested level for these missions, or is this a 'learn to suck less' scenario?

It's kind of both. It'll help to level up to gain more special attacks, especially for certain characters with their aerial ones and having a larger special meter.

That means a lot to me :) My site is all about the niche, and we're not afraid to cover the more risque games! I'm super excited to see Shinovi Versus in the West, and all of the other SK games that Marvelous has revealed.... hopefully we don't have to wait long for them.

Hibari is so horrible... I can't get above a B rank on mission 1-03, Street Sweeping. I go Shinobi as late as possible, I use Arts as much as I can... I think it's the speed I'm lacking, though I finished once at 4:03 and still got a B. And since the completionist in me demands all As on all missions, I'm kinda going nuts.

Any tips for Hibari? I am getting to the point where I hate using her.

You should be Shinobi-ing asap to use her ninpos though. Always use weak attacks and follow up with the aerial raves.

It'll probably depend on how you're fairing in battles with the characters. Yang is better if you get hit a ton because it cancels flinches IIRC while flash has better overall... something. You can check out the descriptions in your library. I rarely use Yin because it doesn't give you a letter grade.

I have been enjoying the heck out of this game. It's rare that I play a game that has numerous text sections for character exposition. I am having a really hard time deciding how I feel about the boobs, objectification and girl on girl sexual harassment in contrast to the genuine character development, complex (for a video game) relationships and strong individuality of the girls in the story.

At some point an adult should be able to enjoy “racy” material without dipping into pornograph.

Again, I am having a blast with the combat, the setting. I even like the boobs I can’t say whether or not I would enjoy the game more or less without the racy bits. But, since I am enjoying the overall package I suppose it doesn’t matter.

Ironically I would have never heard of the game had it not been for the ONM article. Now, I am hoping that the vita game gets ported to NA.

As a long-term fan of the series, allow me to thank you for your post :)

I've been following SK for some years for now so I'm rather familiar with the franchise and how it's not just about boobs, and how the plot is rather more dark and more serious than what one would initially think (but this misconception about the series is probably justified - SK may be one of the rare series I know about where the officiel promo art is regularly hotter than what you could find in most doujinshis). The fact remains that the characters are not purely fan-services devices but were really developed and there has been obvisouly a lot of care invested in shaping them into real individuals, which is probably one of the reason why I really like this series. With the release of the first games in the West, I'm really glad to see more and more gamers enjoying this game and appreciating what it's truly about, meaning not only its fanservice.
