Shadowrun: Hong Kong |OT| Little Trouble in Big China

I'm continually impressed by how well the backer portraits end up in these sorts of Kickstarters.

I hope they didn't nerf mages, because I'm ready to blow some shit up.

I think it's the opposite. They said something about implementing a new system where every spell has dual uses, so they can be both offensive and defensive/healing, to maximize what you can equip.

Holy shit I had no idea this was coming out so soon. Wasn't the kickstarter like, just a few months ago?

Man I really want to play a Decker but I used on in Dragonfall and there's like two NPC ones...

Dragonfall is one of my favorite rpgs ever... can't believe this is already here.

I should really go mage this time. Shotgun + shaman in DMS, decker + pistols in Dragonfall.

So torn on what class to play. I did a rigger/decker in Dragonfall and a Troll katana melee specialist in DMS. I like the looks of the new decker, but will it be like Dragonfall where your main character needed the decker skills to do everything.

Nice OT! So hyped.

I will probably go elf street samurai like the first two games for my first play through. Rifles for distance, but also decent melee ability in close quarters.

Sweet OP. Didn't use my title, but I ended up liking this one more anyhow =)

I am beyond hyped for this game. Dragonfall was so good. INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS, LIKE THE NANOMACHINES I NEED TO LIVE!

Oh and they also said there'll be different types of leylines in Hong Kong. So instead of each one doing the same thing, they have different properties depending on the location now.

They have also added a entirely new skill tree.

Finishing up Dragonfall and omg I forgot how good it was.

Might go Mage for HK since I've already played Shaman and Decker. Mage is the next class that could be fun.

I was a shaman last time. I think I'll try either a street samurai or a very different sort of magic user. But I doubt I'll get to play much this weekend. I need to finish Arcanum first. Hong Kong and White March are both likely to wait for my vacation in a few weeks.

Looking forward to this so much. With the improvements to mages though, I'm now torn because I was gonna go ultra talky shaman this time.....now kind of want to go mage.

I'm really interested to see the variety of portraits this time as Shadowrun has been very good with variety compared to other portrait-enabled games. They've always understood, on all levels of development, how many playable races and genders they have and I love it.

Plus that new artist they have is great, from the KS updates I've seen.

I'm now legit convinced.

Let's see, I went with a Rigger in Returns and a Decker in Dragonfall.

Time to decide on which class I should be running with this time around. I'm thinking either a Shaman or Street Samurai... Decisions, decisions.

SR-GAF checkin' in.

I'll be playing an elf as usual, but probably Street Samurai this time since I rolled a Decker for DMS and DF.

Ah, I think I am a bit too excited for this release, just spent more time than I care to admit on deviantart looking for my first character.

She's going to be a mage.

So bummed this isn't a midnight release, those extra 10 hours take it from a 'nice and convenient' 5:30 pm to a 'shouldn't you be asleep and not waiting for Shadowrun' 2:30am.

I'm sorta glad because I really need the sleep. Selfish reason....

Dumb question but after the pre-order bonus on Steam expires tomorrow - will you have the option to buy just the base game (non deluxe version) for $20 USD? Thanks.

In Dragonfall you can have Blitz do all the decking for you.

Are you purposely avoiding the deluxe ver?

For a limited time before the release of Shadowrun: Hong Kong, get the Deluxe Edition with mp3 original soundtrack and PDF Art of Shadowrun: Hong Kong book included for the same price as the standard version!

Yeah, not much diff with the deluxe ver, I don't see how it's a $10 value.

I just finished Dragonfall: DC today. Was considering replaying it as another class, not realizing Hong Kong was going to be released today.
