Too bad the Resetera thread is closed. The thread over there about this game is Resetera at its absolute worst. Jeesus fucking Christ.
They have a new one now it’s describing the game as victimising war criminals and it’s full of people hoping the game bombs or presumably being banned for holding any other view. Also rami has a video on it where he nearly bursts into tears because Iraqis are being procedurally generated. Basically normal healthy discourse is happening all over!Too bad the Resetera thread is closed. The thread over there about this game is Resetera at its absolute worst. Jeesus fucking Christ.
And of you're not terribly outraged you are a vile piece of shit. They have a new one now it’s describing the game as victimising war criminals and it’s full of people hoping the game bombs or presumably being banned for holding any other view. Procedurally Generated
Triggered?Looks like military propaganda for the sheeps.
I can see my comment will trigger some of the weak asses that can't see this for what it is.Triggered?
Yup, you are triggered. Keep digging.I can see my comment will trigger some of the weak asses that can't see this for what it is.
Have you seen the latest army commercial? The one where the roles you can fill in the army are depicted as if you are some kind of Marvel Avengers or video game character. Why you think they went with those depiction?
you sound like a victim of my comment.Yup, you are triggered. Keep digging.
i have some fellow marine friends, call them sheep in real life, face to faceI can see my comment will trigger some of the weak asses that can't see this for what it is.

I got a family full of marines and a few friends too, some of them dead now.i have some fellow marine friends, call them sheep in real life, face to face
Yeah... Starting with 10+ team mates and ending up with less than 5 in a couple of days is the best propaganda ever...Looks like military propaganda for the sheeps.
So far it looks good. Procedurally generated mission spaces could work well in keeping with a realistic, tense atmosphere, and to add to the replayability.
well, show the receipts because i think you a lying,if you are telling the truth i will recognize my error, but a guy with a family full of marines with kias wont use the term sheep to enlistement,so i dont believe you for a secondI got a family full of marines and a few friends too, some of them dead now.
They would watch this video and laugh their asses off.

I think the controversy is more related to how it is assumed that they will not be addressing the atrocities commited against Iraqis (in Fallujah) in general.I saw that people have created a petition on Twitter to try and cancel this.
I agree it's kind of strange seeing them lean so hard into the "realistic" aspect of all this when it's based on war. Maybe it's because this incident was... too soon?
Because in my mind, how is this any different than the previous "realistic" approaches that have been done with games that focused on WW1/2, Vietnam, Desert Storm, etc. I mean, people complained then, but not like they are not with Fallujah. Again, genuine question as I'm legitimately curious. Watching the video it looked no different than what we've seen other than being a "new" game, its tech, and the hard lean into realism.
I made the mistake of going to Kotaku to see if there was any gaming news. They can't even write the name of this in their headlines they call it "War Crime Game" like a bunch of fucking babies.Too bad the Resetera thread is closed. Lol, who believe this bs girl?
Didn't Rami make some racist comments last month and delete/private his Twitter as a result? Now he's back and showing his boner for justice? LmaoLol, who believe this bs girl?
That's the thing that's amazing about it all, it's "assumed." I think it's important that people know the actual details before making a stink. At this point they're trying to cancel a game because of an interview and some teaser/behind the scene trailers/teasers.I think the controversy is more related to how it is assumed that they will not be addressing the atrocities commited against Iraqis (in Fallujah) in general.
How can you make a real life feeling account of a situation in third person, it wouldn't feel realistic then would it? Worst comment on this thread.Should have kept it 3rd person. That's my interest lost.
-or- a fully realised city with missions in various hand crafted locales could have provided for a 20-30h experience anyway. Games don’t need to be infinite, frankly do not like. And even if it must, the missions could have been dynamic leading you all over town.I, for one, believe that generating the maps procedurally is one of the most important things we were missing to make the play experience less about memorization and more about actually learning how to play.
I really hope you're not from the US.Yeah bring in the real squad to tell and sell you on $60. Talk about glorifying war.
"Procedurally generated"
Instant pass.
It also means every building will look boring and generic. As a fan of the older rainbow 6 games this looks good to me, wasn't expecting this either.
It actually makes sense here considering the mechanics of the game and the experience they are attempting to portray. It also means every building will have an interior which in itself is a good step forward.
Diablo? It also means every building will look boring and generic.
I haven't played a single game yet that has a random generation system for assets or level designs and being any good at the same time.
I never thought of Diablo having good/memorable level designs. It was an addictive character builder/loot slasher. But other 2D/isometric RPG games at the time with hand crafted worlds looked immensely better.Diablo?
But the games are good, aren't they? You said that games with procedural generation aren't good so I am saying that there are plenty that are.I never thought of Diablo having good/memorable level designs. I was specifically referring to their graphics/level designs, though i should have worded it better. I mean Tetris is also randomly generated and that game is a masterpiece of gameplay design. But the games are good, aren't they?
