Skyrim Switch Trailer (Link amiibo support)

They don't look well implemented.

To be fair, the actor isn't actually playing the game. These sort of trailers are always faked, so it's not like we can actually judge the quality of the controls from this trailer. That said, I don't exactly have high hopes for the real thing.

That "Link" amiibo support made me cringe... And made the trailer less appealing to me... And this added to move controls... Just made me cut any interest I could have on it.
Why does having more options that are in fact optional and I'm no was effects the main game a turn off to the game. The only thing this will do is bring more potential people to get into the game. It only helps? This is so confusing.

I liked what i saw. Options are always good. I also predicted the link costumes would happen with another forum member when the announcement came. So i had a big grin on the reveal when that happened haha.

But i have this sneaking suspicion that Nintendo put in that amiibo support to compensate for no mods. Im of course just guessing.

Also...im cautious about this. For me personally if the 3 DLCs (Dawngguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn) arent in this package, i wont be interested. I dont think we have seen any sort of indication yet they are there, unless i missed something? That would be a significant amount of content cut out.

I hope im wrong on my 2 concerns. But its odd how we still dont really know anything about this port, especially since we knew about it since reveal.

Yea it is a strange reason

It would be the dumbest move not to put the DLCs in this. Like literally sending the game to the grave.

I assume those are there, in the cartridge, it just wouldn't make a bit of sense after the complete edition came out.

I agree its a bad decision. Im just worried cause in all the footage we have seen thus far, none of that content was there.

Hopefully during Nintendos presser we learn more!

I'd be happier if they put FO3 on Switch. I think Skyrim Switch looks good though. LInk looks like he woke up in the back alley of some water front bar however.

Gotta complain about something.

Some people might hate motion controls but i think they look awesome.

New way to play.
Finally wanna try archery this time.

The Amiibo content is a nice bonus.
Master Sword peeps! I hope it's upgradeable.

Guys that's not Link, when the guy used the Amibo a chest with Link's equipment appeared, not Link himself.
That's a custom character with Link's equipment.

I guess that eventual other Amibos will also give equipment, not characters.

Cause they will probably charge me full prize of a quite old game 'cause they added what for me is useless shit.

That was my thought as well. Doesn't matter to me since I doubt I'll use it.

wtf was the music?

Very strange choice

Yeah strange song choice.
I actually thought this was ok. I mean I bought Skyrim on release day and I've spent hundreds of hours with dozens of mods, and can't see myself ever playing the vanilla content again, but, unless the UI is atrocious or there are major problems that we aren't seeing in this slice for the trailer, this looks a fantastic way to play the game.

Some people are going to play Skyrim for the first time on Switch! That's awesome.

If motion bow is anything like that tower bow game on the vive it will be pretty sweet. Dunno if that would be feasible gameplay-wise.

You could show people the blue BOTW shirt and they wouldn't recognise it's from Zelda, it fits in that well. I love that.
Now it needs Epona that allows Link to launch off it and break the game.
Anyone else somewhat fascinated on how they managed to get it to run on the hardware?
That's largely why I won't be surprised at it being the PS360 version, although I feel like there were god-rays and lighting effects in that video that are Legendary edition sequel.

Never say never. The CPU in the Switch is much more capable than the one in a 360
Yeah, but in the videos it looks like the Remastered version (obs) and they'll surely push the draw distances beyond the 10 meters of the 360 version. With the graphics janked up and so on, it should run at 30FPS exactly like the other current gen versions do.
There should be a 60FPS mode with reduced draw distance, it would look amazing in portable mode.

The entire lighting model in the video matches up with SE. They replaced the lighting engine completely so it's either using that or it's not.

Oh, yeah, good point :P

It's always very impressive seeing good looking games running on the Switch but it shouldn't be terribly surprising to those paying attention. Mobile technology has come a very, very long way in a short amount of time, and it might be worth remembering that the tech used by the Switch is only 2.5 years old, whereas the PS4 and XB1 are already 3.5 years old and the tech in them is even older than that.

Obviously on a raw power scale the Switch doesn't reach those levels, but modern features can make up for a lot of the missing grunt.

I feel like I'm going crazy.

I've never played Skyrim, but I know what it looks like, and that clearly looks much more the Special Edition/remaster than vanilla Skyrim on 360.

Since the Switch reveal video, it looked like the remastered version. I thought after this trailer, people would see that once and for all.

Yet this thread has so many people saying it's plain old Skyrim, and it looks terrible.

Yeah it looks closer to the remastered version than vanilla unless my eyes are lying.
