So eh, there's still no fix for the stuttering? Since when did every PC game ship with stuttering? Lately it's been (for me): Sleeping Dogs, Deus Ex HR, Battlefield 3, Arkham City, Fallout: NV. Seriously, what the fuck?
United Front are working on a patch to fix the stuttering.

Is there a way to improve AA without the massive fps hit that Extreme gives you? Currently going at High AA, but it's kind of blurry, probably because of the FXAA. Also, it's not as sharp as I would like, but Extreme cuts my fps in half.
Man what gives... running windowed completely removes the stuttering but for some reason makes the game look much more jaggy.
If you're downsampling then running windowed will cause that to not work correctly and look jaggy.
Ah, that explains it :'(
Bloody hell, if there is a "solution" to this problem ( in this case running the game in windowed removed 100% of all the stutters ) then surely it would be "easy" to fix this would it not? Or atleast hack-patch it somehow.

For those troubled by the disparity between performance between windowed and fullscreen, you might want to see if ShiftWindow helps. It's pretty simple to set up.

It effectively runs any application in windowed mode but forces a fullscreen display of the window's contents. I came across it as a (fantastic) solution for FFXIV's horrible tearing issue that's native to fullscreen.
Did they ever release a patch for the stuttering issue? At night I get a smooth 60fps but during the day outside I get around half that or less. I have a 560ti and a AMD X6 1090T
Sadly no.
Dammit, I'm suffering stutter too! It makes the game a bit disgusting but I'm still going to endure because the game is awesome. D3DOverrider helped (better than the in-game VSync and FPS Limiter) but it still there! And for some reason I can't bear the 30fps limiter that removes the stutter after seeing 60fps. So I'm screwed...
I can't get past the initial loading screen. I'm not too upset since I'm in a Borderlands 2 phase right now, but it would be nice to run a few benchmarks or something. Anybody else get this problem? I'm running a pretty beefy system with a GTX680, so I know I'm within minimum specs.
Try playing the game in windowed mode. That was my last refuge, no other fix to it for me but playing it in windowed mode removed 100% of the stuttering.
I'll try that, but I hate the Window's borders =( ... I'll look into Toodles Shiftwindow recommendation unless you know another way to get rid of the top and left border! But thanks dude for your help.
I hear ya man I can't fathom that I actually settled for running the game with windows borders but it's the lesser of two evils sadly. The stuttering was borderline torture. From what I've heard things like shiftwindow should remedy the bars while still avoiding the stuttering so I say go for it.
I got a decent performance with my Dual Core @ 2.7GHZ, 4 GB DDR3 RAM and a 5670 in Medium settings from the demo, how much does it change from the full game?
Also, I had a bit of input lag, not too bad but it threw me off at the beginning of the demo.
I tried the windowed mode Corky, it still stuttering for me.
Running a 670
Is that with in-game v-sync off and d3doverrider triplebuffering on?
This game was the final straw for me with regards to most new games and having 60fps stuttering issues. I scoured the internet and finally came across this program written by a Steam forums user. Eliminated all stuttering in Sleeping Dogs and gave full screen coverage after setting -2, -2 in the window properties of the program itself.

It also did wonders for Battlefield 3....For 2 minutes until I picked up a Punkbuster ban.
To add to the discussion of newer games with stuttering, it seems like EVERY game I have played in the last couple years has had this issue to some degree. I was starting to think it was just me and having an unlucky setup with PC components.
Was using this program earlier, still doesn't work well (here at least). The right and bottom of the screen get cropped a bit even if you set the actual resolution through it
I've been thinking about opening a thread where we could discuss this whole stutter debacle in nearly all recent PC games, but never got around doing it. If someone else wants to, feel free. Also post a link in this thread![]()
