Small changes you'd like to see in Destiny

- Ghost voice to output via the DS4 Speaker (to make it sound way more personal and closer) - make this a toggle (think Transistor)
- Announcer's voice during PVP can output via the DS4 Speaker too

---
- Map of the Tower should be easily accessible with a button or a flick of the touchpad.

+ More character customization.
+ Much better robes/overcoat for Warlocks.
+ Pause button in SP campaign or way to suspend without getting attacked in-game.
+ More loots
+ More public events

Sensible linear look mechanics, like Titanfall, not the random and horrible feeling pockets of acceleration they have. Get rid of the reduced look speed when sprinting as well. It feels horrible. And I'd probably just delete the vehicles because they're lame as hell.

Yeah I would say at least 80.

Yea... no thanks. One of the reasons I hated BL2 was that I wanted to switch to another character once I did everything with Zer0 but never did because I refused to do another 2-3 playthroughs to max him out. There's enough customization atm with the cap at 20 when which isn't even counting the other sub-class or two that each class have.

I agree. I'm fine with the cap being at 20 given all the abilities and sub-classes that seem available. But I won't complain if the cap ends up being higher.

Not necessarily if the loot and gear you obtain remains interesting. Again though, while I would prefer the level cap to be higher (30 or something would be good I think), if it is in fact 20, I think I would be okay with that.

A region filter option. Around half of the PVP games I've played in the beta were laggy because it was connecting me to players from halfway around the globe.

A region filter would be fairly easy to implement and the option could have a note saying that it may take longer to connect to multiplayer games when enabled.

I'm not sure but going off of info from the beta, you'll be able to use Legendaries and, afaik Exotics at 20, with Exotic weapons having their own skill tree iirc. There should be plenty to do after you hit the cap.

More character customization and quick travel to The Tower so I can at least skip one of those lengthy load times.

Loot is pretty good IMO if you play COOP. SP is kinda low though but I don't really care. Like this more than the item overflow you have in Diablo 3 for instance.

@topic:
+ Improved loading times
+ Improved Boss mechanics. Killing the bullet sponge bosses was the most boring thing ever.

  • Minor reworking of the loot rewarding system in PvP. Percent chance of each tier of player getting loot based on performance. Top 3 about 60%, and go down 10% from each player for the winning team, while losing team top 3 players get a 40%, and go down 10% each player as an example. Doesn't sit right that the top players win nothing on a random dice roll while the baggage on the team gets a legendary loot.

Loot chance should be the same for everyone. Some people will never be good at pvp for legit reasons but just enjoy playing, an equal random chance at loot will make it seem worthwhile while the top players get to stomp them for k/d boosts. You should be playing. For fun anyway, loot is a bonus.

-

FoV increase.

Auto aim off option.

Spot targets/weaks spots while in fire team in pve.

Allow SE kind of communication in public fire team, even if it's set voice commands.

it took me a couple hours to get from level 1 to 8. the game will get old fast if the level cap is so low.

Levelling isn't the game, it's the introduction to it. I'd much rather Bungie added more end game content than more grind.

Less grind the better.

There really, really needs to be some form of voice chat outside of fireteams. The fact that there isn't voice chat in the Crucible is one thing but the biggest omission is the lack of voice chat in Strikes. Although Devil's Lair isn't the most complex PvE experience I've had in games, it was kind of frustrating to not have any communication with my teammates by default. This was especially true when I would eventually get stuck with one of the dull crayons that couldn't figure out to shoot the glowing spots on the Devil Walker's legs.

And it made no sense that when I clicked R3 and invited a strike party member to my fireteam for them to be sent back to orbit, only to re-enter the game so I can finally talk to them. The whole invite system is kind of cumbersome in that regard.

+ Much better robes/overcoat for Warlocks.

I keep seeing this complaint come up, but I think people are just kind of short sighted as to what higher level Warlock gear will look like. Standard low level gear is almost always less dynamic and exciting than the most basic, standard high level gear. I'm betting we'll see long coats and robes for Warlocks starting around levels 12-15 or so.

  • Hand Cannons are next to useless right now. Does about as much damage as an Auto Rifle with each shot but has a much slower rate of fire and a much smaller magazine.
  • In regards to Auto Rifles, they seem a bit too powerful for both PvE and PvP right now. After I picked up a decent one I've never swapped it out as my main.
  • Shotguns need to be changed slightly. They have extremely poor range and do next to nothing damage if you're standing more than 1 or 2 metres away from your enemy. I'd actually rather see the damage reduced at very short range if we can increase the effective range so as to help balance it out.
  • I seriously think that the Hunter's Super is way less useful than the Titan's and Warlock's Supers right now. Even in PvE a sniper that I have does more damage than the Golden Gun, making it a bit useless unless at very short range. In PvP it's completely outclassed - getting hit by a Titan's or Warlock's AoE Super is practically an insta-death and doesn't really come with much warning (if any at all), whereas the Hunter's Super requires an animation to set it up, has your character glowing for the duration, requires you still to be able to aim (considering it's not AoE like the others) and doesn't always guarantee a one shot kill (I could be mistaken on this one).
  • There needs to be more useful loot dropped more commonly, as well as a way to tell if it's been dropped, like a blip on the radar or a beacon radiating from it a la Borderlands. Right now I seem to dismantle over 90% of the loot I pick up.
  • If there's a special event going on there needs to be a timer to tell us how long it will last (unless I missed one).
  • The PvP map set on Mars is probably my least favourite map so far as it just seems that if you start on the side with Capture Point A your team is more or less screwed.
  • Why are shaders locked until you're level 20? A lot of the armour that I have for the Hunter looks goofy when mixed together.

That being said, I have really enjoyed my time so far in the beta, even if I have dried up most of the content outside of the Crucible.

Make shooting from the hip viable in PvP. All these lovely methods of movement in the game and I feel obliged to ADS and come to standstill to fire my weapon. After years of playing halo this single factor is rather annoying in a bungie game.

-Same turning speed while sprinting
-Rotating model during character creation
-More aurora effects
-Different flame colors out of the Sparrow/ships
-Gravity should be different on the moon than it is on earth
-Loot chests should give a better chance at getting non-white items

Green Engrams should always lead to green items. I feel cheated as **** when I get given a white item from one, after that burst of joy from seeing a green sphere drop.

Same with Blue engrams. Give me what the engram promises! I had a blue helmet engram that ended up being a blue crafting item. Don't toy with my emotions like that!

Just some meta-commentary on people not liking the relatively fast pace of gaining levels:

I like the seemingly shallow level curve, to be honest. It reminds me of Guild Wars 1 where getting to max level was just an extended tutorial that took you maybe 60% of the way through the main campaign, at which point you still had plenty of story stuff to do in addition to PvP and hardcore PvE. Level 20 wasn't even the end of character progression since your gear was unlikely to be well-optimized and there were still lots of new skills to unlock; Destiny has the same thing with subclasses, faction ratings, and gear upgrades.

Let me reload while running and do not cancel reloading if I sprint.
Make enemies more recognizable in The Crucible.
More visible cooldown an audio cues for the Powers.

Exactly! Plus there's Light Levels in Destiny, which add to your player level (kind of like Paragon levels in D3 - as a quick example).

Not sure if this was posted, but the cursor in the menu does NOT need to be a joystick emulating a mouse. There is no reason why I can't just snap to the next menu option.

Yeah, Light Levels remind me of how Guild Wars 2 had originally planned to have no max level. After a certain value, added levels would have been harder to acquire and mostly gave you bragging rights and bonuses that only applied to specific circumstances.

Rather than a timer kicking you back out to orbit after missions and strikes I would like a option to simply choose where to go or continue to run around in the environment I'm already in...

Also I have mentioned this before but I would love to be able to have the emotes mapped to swipes on the Touchpad and instead have Go to Orbit, Summon Sparrow and Cycle Left/Right between your inventory weapons on the D-pad.

Maybe make it so that the Point Emote sets a custom waypoint in the world (different colour?), that way others in your strike-team can point you to stuff like maybe where they want you to go or where on the Boss to shoot?

Also a option for your Ghost to talk via the DS4's speaker.

Being able to kill people while they do single player, like dark souls

No, Just no. I love harassing people, and being harassed - but sometimes you just don't want that.

Also - I am ANTI "put a map in SP" - it has been nice for once to have a open world where you actually have to explore vs being told where everything is.

Changes:
- Reduce AOE for the Titan and Warlock supers, or take any of the great suggestions to better level the playing field made in this thread already regarding supers
- Would love to have an audio indicator idea for grenades / knife
- Provide better clarity on how points in PvP are earned (I was playing Control completely wrong, and only learned different because of GAF threads)
- For a game that is always online, it really seems silly to have to go to orbit over and over again to choose your destination, shouldn't you be able to choose a location to fly to when you leave the tower?
- Once you have started a beacon, or story - please keep the area indicator up, as opposed to having to open and reopen the ghost.

Not to be a party pooper but, I feel posting this stuff on Bungie's Beta Feedback forum would be more effective.

I'd rather we just PM Urk and make sure that he or someone else at Bungie sees this thread. Bungie's forums can be, uh, kind of not-good.

I'd like an interesting story and 60fps, and more crazy alien weapons, it's a sci-fi game, not a modern millitary shooter.

I wouldn't mind having a catch-all "Alien" weapon category within each of Primary, Secondary, and Heavy. That's kind of what Exotic weapons are supposed to be already, but it would be a good way to drive the point home.

As for 60 FPS, we'll probably have to wait for Destiny 2
or a PC release
before that's on the table.

I wish there was a way to swap emotes in and out, a la Dark Souls. Basically we need more of them, and the ability to determine what is and isn't the right fit for our characters.

I'm fine with the ones we have, and I'm fine with them being tied to the dpad, but sometimes I'd like a /thank or /nod to acknowledge someone without waving or dancing. My Titan shouldn't be stuck with dancing as his only means of celebrating victory... just doesn't feel like it fits his character.

-Option to increase mic volume and tune down sound effects. I could barely hear people talking which made it hard to coordinate.

-For strike teams make mic chat auto-enabled without having to create a fireteam. You've been matched together and are playing co-op, why do I have to then invite them to my fireteam.

I really wish you could just swipe the touchpad to open the Ghost menu up, instead of having to click it. Right now it takes too long to summon your vehicle, click the touch pad, hold square for a second.

Why can't I quickly summon my vehicle, or just swipe the pad to quickly bring that info up?

Speaking of why do you have to hold buttons to make actions happen? Just let me click the damn button and be done with it.

Options to go straight to the tower or go from the tower into a strike or mission from the tower without having to hit orbit.

a big list for small changes. includes bugs.

  • Beards, and in general more customization options in the beginning of the game.
  • The pointing emote should have a greater purpose. Let players point to weak points on the bosses so players know what to shoot at.
  • Auto Rifles need a nerf. They're ridiculously accurate and powerful.
  • More in-depth post-game carnage, like medals, MVP and tools of destruction.
[*]More consistent and rewarding loot drops. Loot is supposed to be "what you need", but I keep earning common gear that I instantly dismantle.
  • Pulse Rifles and Hand Cannons are a bit underpowered, at least relative to the Scout and Auto rifles.
  • Titan and Warlock supers are basically unavoidable and undetectable insta-kills. Either increase the window where they can be killed, or make it more obvious when they have a super. Also, not sure if it's an upgrade or latency, but I don't think they should live through rockets just because they activated their super: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSyGK3fcVRw.
  • Interceptor could use some rebalancing. Maybe a charge time on the rockets, a reload after two shots, or a red light to let the pilot and opponent know which rocket is about to fire.
  • Shores of Time has really predictable spawns. I've gotten several spawn kills at A just by looking down the door with a Sniper.
  • In PvP, Orbs of Light could be scaled down, or even removed to make Supers less frequent. A team of Warlocks Nova Bomb what seems like twice a minute.
  • Hit detection is wonky. People will die a full second after you've melee'd or sniped them in the face: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIkzXlB6Gbo
  • Sometimes the audio will cut out and I wont hear half of the sound effects, including fire from the enemies. This happens on Shores of Time more than the other maps.
  • First Light needs less weighting, especially in the Iron Banner Tournament. Feels like it shows up every other game and sticks around for several matches. I like the map, but I don't want to play on it every single time. I think Crucible needs a menu where players select their preferred maps, and that increases their weighting for the person or fireteam.
  • If the same map shows up twice, it should be at a different time of day.
    [*]Quicker load times.
  • Open the options menu while the match is loading. Don't know why this was removed from the alpha.
  • If you're in the tower, it seems weird that you have to go back into orbit to join another player who is also in the tower. It's also kinda lame that you can't invite a person to your fireteam if you're at the tower and there are already too many people there. Probably unlikely to change for network reasons, so it should be made more apparent that you can't join a full Tower.
  • Random enemy patrols in Explore mode, like a step down from Public Events. More of the Pikesand Fallen vs Hive stuff.
  • Aim assist could be toned down.
[*]Have loot show up on radar since it's hard to see (especially after Sepiks)
  • Blind Watch needs serious rebalancing. Either switch the positions of B or C, or remove it from the Control gametype. The team that has A spawn usually loses.
  • Would like an in-game clock to notify me when events are about to start and when they end.
  • Character rotation in all character menus.
  • Would have liked to see an emblem creator instead of preset ones. Feel like there is some good real estate on Ships and Sparrows for players to place decals on.
  • An option to skip the opening tutorial after you've made one character (or at least the cutscenes).
  • A vendor in the tower who offers different dancing emotes and changes your hair style.
  • Touchpad support for the menus.
    [*]In-game clan list.

Whoa. Pretty much this tbh, lol. Especially the bolded.

I'd rather we just PM Urk and make sure that he or someone else at Bungie sees this thread. Bungie's forums can be, uh, kind of not-good.

Hey, now.

Back around Halo 2, Bungie used to have the greatest forum on the internet (Sorry, GAF. It was what it was. xD) . It was a surprisingly level-headed group of individuals who all shared a love for Halo.

Now it's just whiny Xbox fanboys who feel that Bungie has touched them inappropriately.

As far as features go, proximity voice in Explore mode would be a big one for me. That way you'll never be overwhelmed, but you'll maintain the immersion in the world. Allows for RP'ing as well.

More weapon types would be a plus, along with moving the Hand Cannon to the special slot. Otherwise, they end up being a worse version of the scout rifle as far as we've seen.

I can't believe people think you have to pull up the Ghost to see Waypoints still.

There is a white arrow on your radar that points to the directon you need to go.

That's still not super useful sometimes. Like when in a building with a lot of turns and rooms with multiple, exits etc.

I hate wandering around in games though. In Skyrim I use the shit out of the clairvoyance spell on top of the compass to make sure I'm going the right way. So I'd like an easier way to keep the objective marker up.

Proximity chat. I'm honestly baffled why it isn't already in the game. It makes zero sense as far as building a community.

If they add it it better have a toggle off. I have no interest in listening to randoms and wouldn't play the game off proximity chat was a forced thing. I'm not interested in MMO games, and love this as it's just like Borderlands with a graphic style and setting I like better, and better gunplay. I'll play it just like those games--alone or with friends. The public events are neat, but I wouldn't want to so them if proximity chat was forced on.

One other feature is love added is some option to warp to party mates. It's easy to get separated and if you join a game in progress you spawn way away from your fire team a lot of the time.

-Remove accuracy penalties when jumping. I can live with ADS, but having your bullets go all over the place randomly when you are in the air is just awful.

.Add Classic Bumper Jumper control scheme.

-Sliding shouldn't make you crouch automatically. It should be something like tap to slide, and hold to slide and crouch.

One I forgot but others have mentioned. Ability to turn off auto-aim. We're not stupid players Bungie. We can aim too, even without mouse and keyboard. Its horribly annoying.

Not sure if it's a bug or designed this way, but I hate when I pick up heavy ammo and if I happen to die I lose it all. How many times have I switched to my heavy when I should have ammo only to be left high and dry.

More weapon types would be a plus, along with moving the Hand Cannon to the special slot. Otherwise, they end up being a worse version of the scout rifle as far as we've seen.

I think Hand Cannon could stay as a primary if they gave it more of an identity. Further improvements to its hip-fire accuracy and a faster reload speed would do nicely, IMO. It would be a "cowboy gun" where you snap off a few unzoomed headshots at medium-to-close range, then quickly pop in a new cylinder and do it again.

A third person view that can be used in story and exploration when not in combat. Destiny has a strong focus on gear and rpg elements, so it feels weird that I can't see myself walking around, exploring, without having to sit down or dance. When in combat I would use first person, but when I'm only exploring I would like to be able to use a third person view. The animations and camera is already there. And it would be a lot easier for me to identify with my character.

4 player fire team in exploration.

Monts need to have their own life indicator. If it's there then I did not notice it.

Sniping bullet drop.

Pvp player spotting.

The red indicator that "tells" you where enemy fire is coming from is a complete mess. I don't know how to parse it. Change this plz.

I find grenades to be useless. They take too long to recharge and aren't very useful.

It's actually very useful in PvP. I don't agree that it is a mess at all.

Not sure if it's a bug or designed this way, but I hate when I pick up heavy ammo and if I happen to die I lose it all. How many times have I switched to my heavy when I should have ammo only to be left high and dry.

The same thing happens with special ammo. I think it's a poor decision. Special ammo is special ammo, it should be universal.

Buff Shotguns, nerf charge rifles.

Shotguns do not need to be buffed, sir.

Not sure if it's a bug or designed this way, but I hate when I pick up heavy ammo and if I happen to die I lose it all. How many times have I switched to my heavy when I should have ammo only to be left high and dry.

It is by design. When you die in PvP you DROP the ammo for the enemy to be able to pick up. Leave that alone if you ask me.

I think it wouldn't be amiss to have a slight speed increase in the rate at which you capture zones when you're on your lonesome. It takes forever and you just want to get back to the action.
