is Kirby even a popular series in America or Japan?
I enjoyed almost all the games in the series, even the spinoffs, but I still wonder how much appeal it has.
Just found something.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games
Kirby Super Star (1.1 million in Japan)
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (1.07 million in Japan)
Kirby's Dream Land 2 (1.49 million in Japan)
Kirby's Dream Land (1.45 million in Japan)
Kirby's Pinball Land (1.12 million in Japan)
Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland (1.12 million in US)
Kirby: Squeak Squad (1.73 million)
I think it's safe to call it a popular series. It still kind of makes me sad, though, to not have figures for Kirby's Adventure, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, Kirby Canvas Curse, Kirby's Dream Course, Kirby's Air Ride, or Kirby's Dreamland 3. Or, heck, even just having US sales data for those first five games listed on Wikipedia, and Japanese sales of Nightmare in Dreamland.
I'm more sure than before that Kirby is probably a better seller than Metroid overall. It's sold 9.08 million just from data that limited. If I fill in the gaps by assuming that Kirby Squeak Squad's 1.73 million combined carries over across the board for the other listed games, that would get to 12.11 million, but I think that would be a low estimate since it looks more like Kirby tends to sell a million in each region individually. Actually, though, even if the 12.11 was right on, that would still leave the six unlisted Kirby games and spinoffs to fill in the gap between that and the 13 million figure Nintendo was using last year for Metroid. Hmm.
Anyway, enough Sales-Age for the Smash thread, but I love the Kirby franchise. >_> Even if it is 12 years later and I'm still waiting for a true follow-up to Super Star.

Oh, hell yes. I think I would get it even if it was 30 bucks. Remember the one part in the Revenge of MetaKnight where you discover the one guy's secret tomato room or something? That was so funny back then. In fact, I think there should be more games where you can see the antagonist's talking as you play.
I totally don't remember that and wish I did. But yeah, even at 30 bucks I wouldn't care. Kirby Super Star would be worth it.

Would not rebuy KSS.
The Great Cave Offensive is staying at 100% done and that's that. I completed the game and I don't want to have to relive it.
You know, other than Milky Way Wishes, The Great Cave Offensive was actually my favorite adventure; I think I started it over at least ten times. (I liked The Arena more too, but that's just a boss rush.)
But then, I'm a completionist, so yeah. >_>
