So I picked up the Burger King Trilogy

I just got back from my lunch break; my local BK had no problem selling me one combo and one copy of each game for $3.99.

I agree . . . the food certainly is not healthy . . . but that triple stacker sure is tasty. I drew a line in the sand between the triple and the quad though.

But I'm tempted to cross that line when no one is looking. :D

Give the King some props . . . he's giving you a meal and an xbox/xbox 360 for less than $8!

At $3.99, these BK games are CHEAPER THAN ANY XBOX LIVE ARCADE GAME!

But I gotta say . . . I wish there were some homeless dudes around the nearest BK . . . I'd like to out-source a few of the BK meals I'm looking at to collect the 9 games I want.

Oh . . . the fries need work.

Nine games? Trilogy of the trilogy?

I just want Sneak King ... But I can't resist getting the complete set. Guess my gf and I are getting a "little" extra saturated fat tonight ... we're eating for three.

BTW, the fries do need work.

But I still wish I would've gotten a free whopper meal with Zuma.

Burger King in Canada has them but the one I went to today said they wouldn't get them until tomorrow :/

The one near my place (downtown Toronto) had absolutely NO idea what I was talking about... I am starting to really want these games though...what's up with that?

Just went to BK for lunch and decided to pick up Sneak King :)

Just got back from Burger King and am now eating lunch in my office. The BK in the town I work in didn't have the one game per meal limit like the ones at home in Seattle, so I was able to pick up Pocket Bike Racer and Big Bumpin without any trouble. My arteries are rejoicing, and so is my stomach, I think one more day of BK for lunch in a row would've done me in.

After calling a few NYC locations, I finally found a BK that was carrying them--5th Ave. and 33rd St. I'm a vegetarian, and there was a veggie burger but no veggie value meal. I asked the girl who was working if I could get a veggie burger value meal to get the games and she said, "oh you can just get the games if you want." So she sold me all three for $3.99 each without a food purchase :D

I'll post impressions later on, but for now I have to say it's damn funny that these games have color manuals when so many $60 dollar games don't (Phantasy Star Universe I'm looking at you).

Can someone buy these and send them to me in Australia? I'll cover costs.
I can, if you are sure they'll play in your system.

I picked up the bumper and racing games for my 4 year old daughter as stocking stuffers. Her first console games of her own. :)

All 3 different games for me, a friend, and someone I'm buying an xbox 360 for xmas.

At $3.99, there is almost no reason not to pick them up. People seem to disagree on which is best/worst . . . I think they all have their own charm and flaws.

Yeah, what is with that? The clown is kicking the King's butt on fries. How hard can it be to reverse engineer fries?

Unless the BK manager is a douche you can pick up these games without ordering a meal. BK corporate is not forcing value meal purchases but is strongly recommending that stores abide by those rules. Pretty much like any "buy a meal get item for cheap" deal they've had in the past.

ANYWAYS have any of you tried it on the Xbox? The ports look like an afterthought. The King himself has ****ed up geometry issues and poorly laid out UVs and texture work. Its nice that they do work on both Xbox systems though.

Picked up all 3 yesterday here in Toronto. I went the first time and the guy said they only had Sneak King, which was a total lie, cause when I came back I got all 3 with a Whopper Jr. meal. :)

Which BK? I was gonna swing by the one on Delancey just because I find myself there a lot.

EDIT: Oh. Reading comprehension. 33rd+5th. I know where I'm eating tommorrow.

Yeah. I got the trilogy and I only have the regular xbox, and they seem to work fine for me. I don't care much about graphics, and they "did the job," so I don't have any major complaints about that. The music, however, is pretty meh. There was a graphical remake of Nethack done with MIDI music, and for some reason, the Sneak King music reminds me of that remake's music.

I liked Sneak King a lot, Big Bumpin is pretty good (the Power Surge mode is interesting, but sometimes really annoying) and the racer I didn't like much.

I'd just like to say that whoever thought up the idea of making these games is a genius. Well done, Burger King.

They sell Veggie burgers in the BK's I've been into. So I got a burger, some POUTINE and some pop. That's right, POP.

Got all 3 games as well!

Impressions:

I didn't know which of the 3 to start with...so I went with the poutine first. It was real good. My mouth gushed forth saliva juices after the first flavourful bite. I scarfed it down so quick that I realized I still had the veggie burger left. So next I took a sip of the pop. Not bad, not bad. Wasn't flat or anything like that. I then started on the burger and it was real good.

What.
A.
Meal.

I started feeling heavy and found it hard to get up, a testament to how filling this meal was.

I recommend it to anyone here on the fence. At $4.99 Cdn, you'd be crazy not to go for it.

Yeah the one at Delancey said they only had Big Bumpin, I think.

So yeah, Sneak King is pretty fun. It's ideal to pick up for a quick fix. The sheer preposterousness of jumping out of the bushes to scare someone with a surprise cup of coffee alone make the $3.99 plus artery clog worth it. And I've already got a couple of the achievements :lol

I've spent minimal time with the other two, but Pocket Bike seems decent. Not so sure about Big Bumpin.

Sneak king is kinda slow . . . . but it is worth it for the laughter factor.

It is a hoot to watch the King jump out of a pile of hay or a garbage can and then dance the moonwalk or The Robot before serving up some artery clogging goodness.

IGN didn't like Pocketbike Racer, but I found it to be pretty fun. I was wondering who this 'Brooke Burke' person is . . . I thought she was a pro motorcycle racer or something . . . no, it turns out she is a Playboy & Frederick's of Hollywood model. A perfect person for a pocketbike racing game . . . ? WTF?

Sneak King has the greatest opening video of all time. Let the King creep up to your window and serve you delicious, heart-stopping meals.

She was in at least two Burger King commercials.

I went to a different BK yesterday and they had them but couldn't sell them to me because the manager hadn't shown them how to enter them in the cash! :lol

So finally today I went to a third BK and I finally got them. The one I got them from is the BK at Yonge St. and Finch Ave. in North York.

I grabbed Sneak King today and it was kind of embarassing. I can't believe I'm worried about what someone working at a Burger King will think of me. It's like being ashamed of your wallet when a panhandler asks you for money....

So is Pocket Bike the worst game? Because it's all I tried and it was amazingly competent and fun for a $4 game. It even looked pretty good :lol

Don't they have Hungry Jack's down there instead of Burger King?

Ye..Hungry Jacks also taste 100 times better..Vegetabls in burgers FTMFW.

Although..We do have a few odd Burger Kings left.

I think Sneak King might be the worst game. It is such a one-trick pony that it gets boring very fast. Pocket Bike seemed like the best game, IMO.

I enjoy Pocket Bike the most as well. Big Bumpin is a very close second. Very odd controls (playing hockey with bumper cars? SO difficult, yet very very fun) but a fricking BLAST.

Sneak King is brutalized, KILLED, by its camera, sadly.

PBR is just a fun racer, which I was hurting for on my 360.

Big Bumpin, with a good room, is tremendous fun on Live. We ought to get some GAF games going. Last Man Standing Tourney FTMFW?

I found the fix for the camera in Sneak King.

Click the left thumbstick.

Pocketbike Racer looks so much faster in first-person mode as well.

There's first person mode for PBR? I had no idea.

Pocket Bike Racer is excellent. It reminds me a lot of Jet Moto (and, of course, Mario Kart). Sure, it's a small game, but for $4 it's a steal. It's some of the most fun I've had on my 360 to date.

Yeah, hit up on the D-pad a couple times.

Gamasutra has an interesting interview with Blitz Games up about the King Trilogy, as well as one over at GI.biz.

Nuggets of information:
Originally conceived as XBL Arcade games
Big Bumpin was designed by Blitz, Sneak King was designed by BK around their ads, and Pocketbike Racer was a shared effort
2 million copies of each game are being printed
Distribution in other territories is being evaluated individually

How in the hell are they going to sell 2 mllion copies of each game when no game on the 360 has sold that much?

Holy crap, Big Bumpin' is hilarious and may be my favorite game of the three. (That I'm not sure is testament to the crazy-fun goodness of these games.)

My girlfriend and I played BB for a couple hours last night and it was a riot. Not just bumping people into holes as they open in the floor, but the "hot potato" mode and especially the hockey game. (Score a goal: "He's definitely having it HIS way!") I'm not sure when I last laughed so hard.

Pure nuts.
